For those that know how to HEX edit your Dead Island unencrypted GS:
I have a Windows Command Prompt program I created called ChgMod (Change Mod). It assumes you know how to HEX edit a GS. It also assumes you are familiar with other command prompt programs like CD and DIR.
It took me some time to figure out and though this forum has been helpful I did figure it out by myself through trial and error.
With ChgMod you can take basically any weapon that you are not holding and swap it with one from a list of Mods I have provided. All the Mods you can choose from have been found in game however I may have not found the one you are looking for yet. If you have a Mod or Blueprint that I should add to the list please let me know.

When you enter the command ChgMod you should see following:
C:\Download\Game\DeadIsland\GS>chgmod
This routine will take an unencrypted Dead Island Game Save file
and display the replaceable weapons it contains
after you have chosen which weapon you wish to Mod it will
provide you with a replacement list of available Blueprints and Mods.
Useage for ChgMod Version 1.00:
>ChgMod filename
**************
* W A R N I N G *
*******************************************
* This will allow any Mod to be applied to any Weapon. ******
* Applying wrong Mod to a weapon may cause game to freeze! *
* To recover your GS change weapon Mod back to None. ****
*********************************************
C:\Download\Game\DeadIsland\GS>
If you enter your GS then you should see something like this:

Removing previous save_0~.bak
save_0~ has 5,045 bytes in it
Try it out and by the way the list of Mods is by no means all possible however you may find one that interests you. Just remember my warning! ChgMod does not know what Mod belongs on what weapon. So take heed! If you try a Mod and your game freezes, replace that weapon's Mod with None and try it again before you come crying that ChgMod corrupted your game! However if you found something that should work but does not please post your unencrypted GS and I will use that to see what is wrong.
