Reason

For those of you who want to use your own save (i.e. to retain progress, can't get it to work, have better things to do, clear conscience?) post a link to your save in this thread and I'll mod it for you. This thread is intended to be a short term service until a save editor comes out with a bunch more goodies on it. Also, I don't know if there's even a good amount of people who would like this service so we'll see how it goes (if there's even just a couple people I'll keep it going).

Things to do prior to posting a save link


1) Start up AC Revelations in campaign and take a note of the amount of 'A you have.

2) Go to any shop, (blacksmith, doctor, tailor, bank, etc.) interact with it (just hit "B") and then immediately back out of the store to force an auto save.

3) Make sure the amount of money you have after the save is the amount you wrote down and if it's different (if you bought something in the store before backing out) write down that number.
Basically make sure that the amount of 'A you have after the forced auto save is the one you write down.

4) Quit to the main menu and sign out of your profile then go to the dashboard.

5) Transfer ACREVELATIONSSAVEGAME1A to a usb if it isn't already. You can forget (delete if you want) ACREVELATIONSSAVEGAME1B. If it's on the usb, delete it, 1B is just a back up in case 1A is corrupted somehow and can disrupt the loading of a modded 1A.

6) Transfer the save to your computer from the usb using Horizon or usbxtaf or whatever you like to get the job done.

7) Upload the save to MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/) and click "copy link".



You're done with the upload process!!

I tried to use your save on my account to confirm the money amount because I couldn't find it with lots of different ways of searching for that hex value. When I went to do that it froze my box so i tried an assortment of things to try and uncorrupt it all to no avail. If you tried to mod it yourself and it didn't work then posted that save, I can't really help you there unless you know the bytes and address of the bytes you edited. The reason being that if you changed the wrong thing or what have you, when I go to look for the amount you posted I won't find it and can't find where you went wrong with it. If the save is working for you praise Jesus, it's a miracle.

With disregard to everything I just said, the save you linked to is corrupted and I can't use it which means I can't mod it. If you update the link with a fresh save that works I'll (obviously) be happy to mod it for you :)

Much appreciated PacMan, i've tried everything that Ubisoft and Microsoft Support gave me like clearing cache, ejecting the HDD and put it back in, Try game save 1B by deleting 1B! Here is the link of what happens to it, this also happened at Brotherhood. The game played smoothly, I always keep an eye on the autosave before I switch off! Hey KitManWong, I'm very sorry to say but I wasn't able to fix your save. I'll take a look at editing the percent complete. If I can figure that out then I'll make a new save and do the money/percent complete mods for you. Again, very sorry mate, that really sucks :(

Ah that sucks but never mind mate! I kinda expect it to be impossible to address. Ummm yeah, I can download the files from your earlier link which has about 8% complete, if you have anything nearer to 31% from other peoples saves, and mod it that with money that would be sweet. Also if you can mod their saves to my game save as "Slick Kit" as a title when you click on story mode, that would be sweet. If you can find a way to mod it to 31%, that would be magic. But thanks again!

Very cool! A Good friend of mine went to uni there. Right so I've got a save at 26% and can't seem to get a hold of % complete. Maybe that's close enough. School has started up again after thanksgiving break for me so I'll be more busy than usual unfortunately :/

Not a problem man. I'm thinking about doing another video that actually has audio and shows my cursor (little things like that :P) and also has an example of that last special case with the extraneous byte. alig200 was one of those so I would use his. I can't seem to figure out the kinks with my video capture software so hopefully I can get that sorted out :)

Hey guys. So my computer got a virus that puts an endless loop on starting windows so I won't be able to do any mods till I get it fixed. I've managed to get ubuntu on it so I can at least do some computing but I'm not a linux buff. Also, I've noticed a few posts and thanks have been lost from this thread (I'm guessing from the server transfer) so I hope nothing of importance has been lost along side those posts. I may be able to still mod a few saves here and there at friends houses but not frequently by any extent. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Hey all, I've missed you dearly (seriously):P I just happened to think to check the site today with my phone after many days and saw all the responses to my thread as well as PM's. As you know my computer has been down for the count and thus has made it impossible to do any mods at home. I've also been very busy with applying to colleges, scholarships, etc. and school in general. Fortunately, I've now been accepted into my school of choice, the Florida Institute of Technology, with good scholarships so all that stress is over now. I also just entered into a four day weekend as I have a snow day tomorrow and Monday is M.L.K. day. I'm now using a very old, slow and annoying computer until I have the time (hopefully this weekend) to fix my more current computer. Yes, this means I can now get back to doing mods for the thread (somewhat slowly :P), so, keep posting any new saves you would like modded.

KitManWong, unfortunately since my computer took a dive, I've been having to use BackTrack to find all my files which is a HUGE pain in the a**. If I can find your file, I will most definitely put it up that instant. I'm terribly sorry for how all this turned out and hopefully things will be back on track soon!

Ok KitManWong, so I looked for over an hour and seriously can't find the 26% floating around anywhere, BUT, I did find a 23% and a 36%, both of which I'll put up. I'm so sorry for how long this has taken and I do hope you'll accept my apologies. So there it is.

I will start modding the saves that have built up in here today and will most likely be finished by either Monday or Tuesday.

I have my still needed save here up the list right before you posted again (Post #39). I was added as the first one to Nightmare96's new thread. But it didn't work. I would show as start new session when I rehashed the save with Modio. I know its bad because I used the orignal save again it works great and I resigned/rehashed the big cash starter save and that works... I just don't want to start all over again.

Can you please up a modded vs of my save with tons of cash-ola!

B is just an earlier version of A, used for a backup in the case that A becomes corrupted. It's just an earlier save point. That being said, why not. Can't hurt to try, so go ahead and put B up, I'll give it a go.

It's the modding. After FFFF it doesn't seem to follow any of the normal rules or patterns to get to FFFFFF. Have you gotten it to work?

EDIT: I finally got yours julianath20... it was another case of an extraneous byte only this time it was in a different spot and wasn't the normal offending byte (1E).

For those who care, read below.
Here's what was wrong:

So the money was at 83020 which is 4C4401 hex. For some reason a 3C byte decided to jump in after the 4C and screw everything up. There's that.

So, read this if you like: I think I've found a pattern to locate the address of the money no matter what without searching the actual money value. Every time I've searched for a money value, either of the following two hex patterns occurs one or two periods after the last two byte values of the hex value for the money: 1C22914322 or 1C22904322. Just search for either of these two patterns and one to two dots back will be some form of the hex value of your money. You can also try to text-string search .".C" (with quotes) as that is the text-string form of the hex for both patterns. Most often it's the first one but the second pattern was the case with julianath20's save.

And there you have it. I really hope nobody's angry with me for being gone for so long, it wasn't exactly my decision. If any one else has a save they want modded, please, put it up.

Hey all, I've been thinking a bit about this thread and have a small request to make. I feel that I haven't gotten the proper thanks from a good number of people I've helped out (I really appreciate the people who have =]) and this kind of frustrates me because of the amount of time I've spent on all of this. So, as I continue to receive requests, I'd appreciate that after you post your save that you hit the thanks button on the original post in this thread. I would not normally make a request like this if it weren't for another member making the suggestion. I shouldn't have to request this but think of it as a payment of sorts if not as simple common courtesy.

Hell ya haha, it sucks that making one for this game would be so difficult :( I would love it!

Know what, I should start learning how to make mod tools myself. I know java and a descent amount of c#. I also know scripting/python/html but that's hardly programming. I just haven't taken the time to learn vb or .net :/ I'm going to embark on this journey tomorrow. Red if I have any un-gooleable questions, would you possibly be willing to provide some assistance?

hell yea just ask...o and wat u just said about wat u know you will be ahead of prooly every developer if u learn how to code...Cause the stuff u know is insane like script etc.....

Well, once I'm aquanted with making mod tools, if you guys want or need another dev I'm happy to help. And prior to that point I can always help with hexing. That's fantastic man, I hope I can follow that same path. It does seem very easy to create a simple editor with just buttons. And ya, it's pretty easy to tell who the more advanced devs are haha :)

Yes, I believe so. It's just a matter of finding the values as is the case with most other numerical game mods. I haven't explored this personally so I cannot garuntee your or any one else's seuccess on finding these values, but again, I do believe it's quite possible.

I won't be making a mod tool for this game (at least not any time in the next month) so I won't be embarking on finding a definitive answer for you. Good luck if you decide to find out for yourself!
