Re: Dark souls....hmmmm
I love it. It is not much on story but it is fun to play around with different builds and weapons. A lot of people find the game fairly difficult but I really didn't. It can be frustrating at times to die and lose all your souls but that just gives you incentive to be careful. I have it for both the PS3 and the Xbox because on the PS3 I play online and on the Xbox I use the save editor on this site and just run around and have some fun.

Ahh, Dark Souls. If you're at least as old as I am, I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase "Nintendo hard" (if not then here's a quick reference: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NintendoHard) and you've probably noticed that games that are considered "Nintendo hard" are few and far in between anymore (with exceptions like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden).
If you miss those sorts of games, then Dark Souls is for you. It is the most unforgivingly difficult game that I have played in this console generation, but not in a broken kind of way; it all seems very fair. When you die, you FEEL as though it is your fault. And speaking of dying, you will do so, a lot. One review mentions that dying is less of a punishment and more of a core game mechanic; it's integral to the experience that you die over and over again so that you can learn each enemy's tell and learn how to attack and counterattack each foe.
Personally, I love it. The difficulty can be off-putting to most newer generation gamers, but I felt right at home the entire way. Plus, FromSoftware is one of my favorite developers and I can't think of a single title they've made that I haven't enjoyed.

Re: Dark souls....hmmmm
Dark souls is a very interesting game. It is a combat oriented game and while the combat is not as fast as games like DMC or darksiders it is still very fun. The game is very difficult and can really kick you where the sun does not shine, but it is so rewarding to destroy a boss who killed you three or four times. I thought the game would be insanely difficult but to my suprise its pretty fair its tough but if you are smart it wont be frustratingly tough.

Re: Dark souls....hmmmm
The game is awesome. It is true that it is really hard, in the begginig you will get mad at it, but with time and practice it becomes something that can give you a feel of acomplishment. Also, discovering it's secrets and mastering the combat will sure make it one of your favorite games.
I recommend it!

Re: Dark souls....hmmmm
You will yell at your TV, be tempted to throw your controller through the screen, and sometimes feel like crying...but this is one of the very few recent games that really gives you that sense of accomplishment when you finish it, or just get past some of the bosses for that matter. At times it can be brutal and unforgiving, it doesn't hold your hand, it makes you explore, without maps, and find your own way around. Finishing the game though gives you a feeling of actually accomplishing something as opposed to many games these days that are little more than interactive movies. If you like a challenge then definitely give this game a shot.
