Newsbrief: While Bungie's Destiny is a multiplatform title in most regions, Sony today announced that the game will release exclusively on PlayStation platforms in Japan.

As noted by Kotaku, Destiny will launch on PS3 and PS4 on September 11, despite the fact that the Xbox One launches in Japan two days before, and the Xbox 360 is readily available.

The move is particularly notable, given that Bungie has been an Xbox-exclusive studio since the first Halo game 13 years ago.
