Jeremy McGrath Donating Proceeds From Offroad To BeTheMatch.Org
Jeremy McGrath has announced that proceeds from his new videogame Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad will be donated to BeTheMatch.Org, who helped provide a much-need bone marrow match that his wife Kim needed because of her recent Leukemia diagnosis. Kim McGrath survived breast cancer in 2010, and is now fighting to beat Leukemia. Jeremy helped put together over 40 marrow drives and fundraisers resulting in more than 4,000 people tested for possible inclusion within the Registry and more than a quarter of a million dollars raised.
“First, thank you again to everyone who has helped, donated, gotten tested and sent well-wishes to our family. Your responses to my initial call to action have been incredible and the support and love just seems to continue to pour in,” said Jeremy McGrath. “The fact that Kim found a match is really great news for us, but it is our hope that people will still get tested and join the Be the Match Registry. I would also ask that companies that have charitable donation programs and those in the position to do something, please think about making a donation to Be The Match at any time throughout the year. This organization provides a service that literally saves lives every day of the year…it’s pretty amazing.”
In an attempt to raise more awareness and funding, McGrath will be donating his portion of the download profits from Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, which we reviewed recently, to Bethematch.org. Those who purchase the game via Xbox®LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360® or PlayStation®Network will be directly contributing to a great cause.
Well wishes can be sent directly to Kim at the Team Kim facebook page, found at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-KIM/221085671342637
