Apple most popular portable gaming device?

Apple claimed that the iPod Touch is the worlds most popular gaming device during its press event which took place yesterday. It’s clear that it’s an extremely popular device amongst consumers, but the worlds most popular gaming device? More popular than Nintendo and Sony's offerings? I’m not too sure on that one.
