It will not happen till the checks in the save have been defeated. So you might be waiting a while.

Are these just for the achievements? Or will these also unlock the corresponding Ninja Gear associated with each Trial unlocked and beaten?

Personally, I don't really mind the achievements that much...rather, I'm more into collecting the Gear. If it's not the latter above, do you think you can aid my save in acquiring the remaining Gear? I only need Master Trials 2,3,5 and all three Ultimate Ninja trials (and possibly the additional two Ultimate Ninja Trials packaged with the upcoming download pack).

these saves come with the unlocked gear, you will also get more gear for completing the rest of the trials in each difficulty

nice that means there would be a health and possibly ki editor in the coming weeks...
