what happens if you downgrade from 3.56 to an earlier version will the rootkit still be there ? or is it only within the patch ?

The rootkit's always been there since the PS3's been out. People are just noticing it now.

i'm glad i didn't get a ps3, but if any of you really want to fuck with them, write out a letter stating that if this document is opened you are breaching privacy laws adding in that you have added a subroutine/virus (or whatever) into the file to tell you that it has been opened and by who, add the subroutine into it to tell you if it's been opened and if it is sue sony for breaching your privacy, after all they have no right to open documents not pertaining to the playstation network it would be like a thief walking into your house and taking documents containing bank details or something.
