I really need your Help Rather your PS3 advice

I have a 1st generation Backward compatible PS3 606B
the main processor has burnt out & the Sony repairman said that he could not find a replacement Processor.
The repairman offered to buy it but I refused in hopes to-poss. finding a processor to repair it.
has anyone had this problem or heard of someone solving, I checked online & called a Service in Miami Fl a few times but no response.

sry to hear you lost your old ps3 that could play ps2 games ; ; i only have the new ps3 that cant play nay ps2 games but hope you can find what your looking for i hope.

I have not heard of anyone having that problem. Have you called or emailed Playstation support? They also have a live chat during certain times of the day where you can ask them service questions. I would say it is possible for them to be out of processors that old because they quit making PS2 games I think and the PS4 getting ready to be released. I had one that burnt out as well but I did not try to fix it. It was only going to cost a bit more to just get a new system than to fix. Sorry I could not be more help

I don't think you are gonna find a processor for your old PS3. My advice is to backup all of your data, format the PS3, then try and see if the guy is still willing to buy it from you. Without a processor, it's only good for junk parts, so I'd take whatever offer he makes. Then search ebay for another launch model. You'll spend about the same buying another console as you would replacing the processor.
