w0rd. Don't get me wrong, though!

I understand that without computer and internet hacking, we would never have video game hacking and modding.

So to clarify: I don't hate ALL hackers, but I do hate the bad apples/negative ones.

I used to want to hack codes for video games when I was younger, but couldn't understand it or get the hang of it. This was back when the Codebreaker Cheat Device came out. Man, those were the days...

Again, I realize not all Anons are bad, but a majority of them are and if such a group feels that I and others are making misconceptions about them or spreading information about them, then it is because they have earned it and deserve it.

It's funny, they can dish out the heat (And BOY can they do that!), but they can't take it and get all pissy if someone so as much utters a word against them. Like children. LULZ I HACK AND TROLL YOU!

    Pfft...

On one hand I sympatize with the harassing of big companies, but (sometimes) when they go after individuals, they take it too far...
The more annoying ones will eventually go away, but probably not fast enough :)

Though Mister Epic does raise some fine points, I have to disagree with his opinion. While I also believe that doxing people for giggles and teehees is very wrong, I understand that there is a larger point that isn't being considered when referring to their big issues; when they go on huge missions, they ARE doing it for the people, because they ARE the people. Their philosophy is that, though an individual may be unique, mankind itself is bound by certain emotions and prejudice that all humans feel to some extent. They represent this view by remaining anonymous; they could be a priest, a policeman, a teacher, or even the president of the United States; because one has the mask of anonymity, they are able to act their true self without fear of reprehension or social backlash.

I see Anon as the Batman of the internet: a vigilante who is dark and mysterious, and therefore they are frightening and misunderstood, but they also prefer it that way as it helps their cause. They get a bad rep from the media, but savvy individuals know Anon's on the side of the people. They may employ extreme measures from time to time, but they always get the job done. Yeah, very much like Batman.

Also, I think I need to make clear again that Anon is not against Sony; they are against repression of free speech and free use. If MS pulled the same stunts Sony's pulling, you'd better believe Anon would come down on them like the thunder of Zeus.

The general line of thinking is anon as a whole had nothing to do with it, if it was it was an independent group which considering the structuring (read: no structure) isn't anon.
These warrants are for nothing more then some script kiddies who were too dumb to hide behind a proxy or 7.

They don't do members either, its not a club its a grouping term for a hive-mind acting to achieve a goal with multiple coordinated units, for teh lulz and occasionally justice if there's boobs or cats.
The news just broadcast the story and once again they've glazed over the point, Sony is lazy as fuck at securityand love screwing over their consumer base, transmissions between the consoles and the network are unencrypted, its all in a file somewhere...

Sorry, Cloud. Anon IS like Batman; the only difference is that Anon doesn't have the Batmobile. lol
But wouldn't t be cool if there were a Trollmobile? I'd want it. ^-^

^Truth. Anonymous is not a group; it is a broad term meaning anybody.

No, Anon IS a group no matter how you slice it. Hivemind be damned!

Anon is NOT Batman, Anon is NOT a vigilante. Anon is NOT for the people, they are AGAINST the people. The people do not desire chaos and violence and everything negative they do. They are oppression, if anything.

A more fair comparison for them would be that they are like the Joker: A renegade full of chaos. They are wicked chaos, not order and justice.

No one asked them to stand up and fight for our rights, because every time they do, they make the people look bad and they just end up botching it or *bleep*ing it up! We can fight censorship and whatnot perfectly fine without their help. We don't want it. We want them gone.

The world truly IS better off without them and the sooner they go away... The better. But sadly, they are going to be around for quite a while and we all have to deal with it and put up with it. Wonderful...

They completely misunderstood the point of V For Vendetta and got all the wrong ideas from it if you ask me.

I'm not trying to come off as a dick, though. So I apologize if it seemed like that, but I am vehemently against them no matter what. So I suppose I am biased, but given the negatives and negative repercussions of what they generally do... I like to think what I say makes as least a shred of sense.

Either ways, I guess I can't debate on it and say anything further on it, since what is done is done and what will be, will be. But I suspect one day the other people (Y'know, the rest of the world that aren't Anons) are pretty much going to get sick and tired of their *bleep* and something's going to happen one day. Maybe not soon at all, but ONE day. Just a matter of time at this point.

Good points though, Emerald Lance and I understand partially where you're coming from and can't say I completely agree with you, but I'll agree with some of it. Agree to disagree.

    Edit:

I half agree with this, I suppose I don't mind when they attempt to screw over some big companies, but when it affects the rest of us... That is when the *bleep* hits the fan.
