Update: Amazon has revealed box art that confirms Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions of the game, including "60 minutes of exclusive gameplay" on PS3. We've reached out to Ubisoft for confirmation of additional platforms and will update this story with any additional info we receive.







oday’s announcement confirms the title initially revealed by leaked marketing material this week and also expands upon Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s comments earlier this month that the newest Assassin’s Creed game features a new hero and time period.

While no concrete details are given in the art, it’s immediately clear that the game will involve pirates, just as rumors suggested a few weeks ago.

When they say "new hero"...

Do they mean somebody other than Conner or somebody other than Desmond? Since Desmond died at the end of Assassin's Creed 3, you sort of have to wonder how they're gonna go about setting it up.
