You have to understand. Hackers were not interested in it. It wasn't hacked because the hackers had what they wanted, linux. The time the hackers started on it was around the time Sony removed OtherOS. If you count from that time, to the time it was hacked it was only 6 months. As opposed to the 12 Xbox 360 lasted. The PS3, at first glance, looked secure. That is why people said it was the most secure. But with minimal inspection of the console to everyone's surprise you could recover the private keys with a simple math equation because it was improper implementation of cryptographic algorithms.
