[UPDATE] The Target weekly ad for August 18-24 released today confirms the price cut. All PlayStation Vita systems are $199 through the end of the week.

All PlayStation Vita systems will be marked down to $199 at Target beginning August 18 and running through August 24, according to a leaked Target advertisement obtained by Blu-ray Forums.


The ad specifies that "all PS Vita game systems" will be marked down. The handhelds currently retail for $250 for the Wi-Fi version and $300 for the 3G model.

Neither Sony nor Target were immediately available to comment.

The PS Vita received a price cut in Japan in February, but Sony said in February that no such price drop would be extended to North America due to exchange rates and other factors.

Decisions about price drops are made on a region-by-region basis, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said at the time.

Awesome price for those the always wanted the system but never liked the price so now is there chance to get it :D

I wish i had that kind of money because that would be a reason to get ffx-2 hd remake for me so i have a portable version of the game and it is becuase i still have the ps2 version of ffx/x-2
