War. (Huh!) Yeah. What will it cost you? Absolutely nothing!
Not to fret, Xbox 360 owners. Yes, those of us fortunate enough to own an Xbox One may be spending the weekend with giant robots in the Titanfall beta since it opened to everyone - but there's new free stuff for those of us on the older console too - it's like Christmas in February!
2011 XBLA tower defence sequel Toy Soldiers: Cold War is the latest game to be strapping on its boots for your downloadable enjoyment via the ongoing Games with Gold free games promotion, and is available from right now through until the end of the month.
Coming from Signal Studios, TS:CW lies somewhere between tower defence and third person, seeing you control - as the title suggests - an army of toy soldiers across oversized tabletop battlefields. While the first game was set in World War 1, this sequel moves things to an 80's style Cold War setting, including an elite unit that bears more than a passing resemblance to Rambo.
In our 7 scoring review, we said that Toy Soldiers: Cold War "improves on the first game in almost every way" and that "even if Cold War lacks enough variety for more than a few afternoons of entertainment, its simple, enjoyable challenges still earn it an honourable discharge."
As usual, this particular Games with Gold offer means the game is yours for gratis if you have a Gold subscription and download from the Xbox Games Store until the 28th Feb. The next offerings haven't been announced yet, but keep an eye on the website and our Free Xbox games hub for the details as and when they're announced.
