Czech game developer Cinemax Games has announced The Keep for the Nintendo 3DS. The old-school dungeon crawler uses real-time combat with the “essence and dark atmosphere of RPGs from the past,” giving the player scope to explore, slay monsters and come to an eerie, frustrating death.
Cinemax Games has developed a slew of DSiWare in the past, including Rytmik World Music, Rytmik Retrobits and Puzzle Rocks, as well as a number of iOS and PC games. But the studio says their designers have poured “all their love for old-school games” into the 15-month development process for the 3DS game. The Keep is on track for a summer release, with gameplay trailers coming in the near future.
