How did you do this? I want to raise my drop rates, but I haven't see anyone list how to do this...

Re: [Basic] Final Fantasy XIII-2 Save editor

I just want to let you guys know, I figured out the system in attaining the 255 accessory capacity. I followed the guide the GameFAQ user posted, created my own little spreadsheet and like he said, everything worked exactly perfect. All it took was about 20 minutes consisting of 15 hex edits to find all the values for 16 instances and from there, you can literally find any value for the capacity max you want.

In my spreadsheet, I started with Noel at 251 (87 in column 342F5) and Serah at 247 (4D in column 36C95). From there I just change the value of the second digit of the two value string another 15 times to get all the values for each of the 16 columns (0-F). If you look at the spreadsheet, it will make more sense, but, theoretically, if I wanted to go back to the "100" capacity, all I would have to do is find the column that the 100 capacity belongs too then modify the value already found in that column. For my situation for Noel, it would be "x6", x being replaced by the proper value when looking at the spreadsheet. Since 244 capacity is "86", I would count down the number of rows (9 rows) and reduce the value of "x" every single row. 8 - 9 in HEX = F. So, F6 = 100 capacity.

Sorry if that was a bit confusing, fortunately, if you follow the spreadsheet, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty damn simple. PM or reply here if you have any questions!

I'd really love to know how to mod monsters on both 360 and PS3 version.

Mind sharing how you did this? And Monster Crystal drop rates are completely separate from regular or rare item drop rates.

I was under the impression capacity was just a byte, so you can just make it FF for 255. Because that's how I did it in memory, and in the save itself.

@off: yes you can, that's what I've been doing all the time because I don't want to annihilate the game completely, but just save some farming time with extra CP additions here and there and free Gysahl :p
There's a thread here that talks about it. You can mod it pretty high (at least to 65535, didn't really need more), but if you get any more in-game (either from buying, TCs/TBs, or monster item drops) it'll revert to 99.

"FF" isn't guaranteed to work as it has been stated on many websites including the original finders of the HEX editing system for FFXIII-2 Saves (http://save.noob.jp/save-editor/joyf...&num=1105#1105). If you managed to achieve 255 with "FF" that is rare as both your characters would of had to of had a capacity of 111 with the value 6F in their respected columns. I have yet to hear of someone having both characters fall on the same value (which your citing yours did) and then having "FF" successfully achieve the 255 capacity. If you were one of the extremely FEW people that achieved 255 while using "FF", and then, one of the only people, if not the only, to achieve 255 with both characters using "FF", then congratulations! However, the value "FF" does not instantly grant you 255 capacity for the other 99.9% attempting this. Using the system I've found and following the spreadsheet I've created for your values, you can achieve 255 guaranteed in under 25-30 minutes.

Unfortunately, I attempted to try out the 3.2 version of Jappi's tool just to produce feedback and it seems that it still isn't properly working. Hopefully my spreadsheet and the system I've found helps him guarantee the tool produces a 255 capacity value every time.

P.S. - It appears your working with the decrypted APP.data and the value of "FF" may work on decrypted data. My spreadsheet is for the PS3 users who still haven't been lucky enough to get their APP.data decrypted using Jappi's tool. Hopefully in a future revision, he will support decrypting PS3 Game Saves, but until now, the only way to achieve the 255 capacity with the data still being encrypted is following my spreadsheet. Once PS3 Save Data can be decrypted, my technique will no longer be necessary.

So, you are correct for XBOX360. However, you are wrong for PS3.
