Codemasters has just announced that their new Formula 1 2012 game will launch this September on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and on PC.

This announcement follows the news that Codemasters had agreed a new multi-year deal to produce the official Formula One game.

You can catch the first trailer for the game below which features the Young Drivers Test from the end of the 2011 season. In the video Mercedes test driver Sam Bird says, "I think Codemasters have done a super job of giving regular people a proper insight into what a Formula One car is like." Bodes well for the new game then.

The biggest headline feature in F1 2012 is the inclusion of the Young Drivers Test mode in F1 2012 which will introduce players to the world of F1 through a range of tutorials explaining how to handle the cars, as well as being challenged to earn a drive from a team for the 2012 Championship.

Codemasters are also promising "new features, wide-ranging technical and gameplay advancements and extensive competitive and co-operative multiplayer components." F1 2012 will see the debut of the US GP at Austin, Texas when Formula One returns to the United States of America, and also the return of Hockenheim.
