Todd Howard, Skyrim's Game Director, gave the keynote speech at the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit and had a video in-hand showing off what Bethesda called the "Skyrim Game Jam." Yes, it sounds like a early 1990s (note: no apostrophe) hip hop something or other, but it was actually just the powers-that-be giving the developers a chance to do whatever the hell they wanted to the game.
By and large, they came up with some pretty damn cool stuff and it shows everyone exactly what these guys can do when the leash is taken off. Of course, some of these things may cause the game to take a giant shit on you, as we've all learned is often the case with Skyrim, but if they got all that ironed out it would be great to see some of these things make their way into the game or into future iterations. Howard did say that this may be the case someday in the form of free or paid DLC.
I vote free.
Howard mentioned the dragon mounts as being a possible carry over, but in addition to flying around on a big spiky lizard we could have things like Dragon Shouts that you can activate with your Kinect (if you're on Xbox 360, of course), seasonal foliage, child adoption, elemental arrows, and fast travel waygates. Then there's that giant f'ing mudcrab at the end. I'd hate to come around a corner and find that thing staring at me.
what til you see the ending...
