There is already an r4-like card for the 3DS. Search for Gateway 3DS and you should find the website. I don't know anyone with the Gateway cart but from what I've seen/heard it seems to work pretty well.

if there is an r4 card for the 3ds it probably crashes a lot i had one for the dsi an it was just awful

I heard there was no UI for. I heard that the cart could only hold a single game to be loaded by the system, and so to switch your game you would have to actually delete the single game inside the cart and paste a new one.
