Two new modes unveiled for ninja reboot ahead of launchGet your slicing fingers at the ready, because Capcom have announced the launch date for their upcoming downloadable reboot of ninja Strider Hiryu's adventures for Xbox One and Xbox 360. It's not too long to wait - in fact, it's due to land on the 19th of this very month.
The news was posted this week on the Capcom Unity blog, where two new challenge modes for the game were also revealed - the first being Survival where players will have to fend off waves of ever more dangerous foes while equipped with different loadouts.
The second is known as Beacon Run, and is essentially a time-trial mode, tasking you with getting through levels as fast as possible by darting from checkpoint to checkpoint, while all the while enemies try and slow you down.
Interestingly enough, soon after the release was announced came the news that developer Double Helix was being bought out by Amazon, although we'd be surprised if it effects the game this close to launch except for perhaps post release support - so far there's been nothing from either Capcom or Double Helix to suggest that it will.
Strider will be available from the Xbox Games Store for $14.99 for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions, according to Capcom - no word as of yet on an exact UK price. In the meantime, why not watch Aoife's hands-on with the game above or read her earlier preview.
