It isn't a game breaking thing, but Personally, for me, I hate Collectibles...I hate them..especially when they serve 0 purpose outside of that 5 or 10g achievement, bronze trophy or whatever, Me being the completionist is hard to ignore 59/60 achievements or whatever, but I just hate when you get 100+ collectibles scatted all around a game...THEN a handful end up being timed...or become glitch if do this, blah you can't backtrack there anymore.
ah...it just drives me mad.
Then you find all but ONE, and with most games, they don' tell you jack outside out you have 99/100 go retrace your steps trollol...just to Maybe find out it was timed or some nonsense...or in a ridiculous place, example in DmC lost souls(which I didn't mind,wasn't alot) ..you had to enemyStep/trick up with vergil like 10x to reach some off-screen height for the soul, REALLY?..like how would anyone know that outside of a guide
I remember the Legend of the Dragoon, had 50 collectibles,get them all to fight a secret boss and get some great gear...it had a point you know.(even though it lets you backtrack to look for them just to find out TROLLOL sorry that map exploded)
bioshock infinite was kind of an exception but not really, they told me more about the story..but still...why have vital parts of the story scattered around the game in easily miss able areas. SOME game know how to do collectibles...but most don't...seemed they just tossed on there for no reason.
none the less this was just my little rant on collectibles, It was a going to be a thread solely on that, but maybe you all have something that ticks you off just a little bit to with games.
...like games taking to long to let you PLAY...like I think it was Okami did...was like a 15min of unskippable dialogue .. >_>
Ironically enough remember enjoying games like banjo,Mario,sonic when all you did was collect lol ._. keys,stars,emeralds.
Now...it's a chore
