Forza 6 Apex isn't the only new game in Microsoft's racing series currently in development. The company has announced the "next Forza game," confirming that the Lamborghini Centenario will be the "cover car" for it.
We're not quite ready to unveil the title or any big details on the next Forza game yet--you'll have to wait for our Xbox media briefing at June 2016's E3 for that," Microsoft said in a post on Xbox Wire.
There is one confirmed detail, however. Microsoft says the unannounced game sports the "largest and most diverse car list of any video game franchise this generation."
Microsoft did not provide a release date for the new Forza game or say what platform(s) it is coming to, though Xbox One is a good bet. A teaser trailer is available above.
This kind of announcement schedule is becoming a trend for Microsoft. It announced Forza 6 in January 2015 and then revealed it in full at E3 that summer before its launch in the fall. That game's "cover car" was the Ford GT.
The Lamborghini Centenario is not even available in the real world yet. It will make its debut in the new Forza game as part of Microsoft's "First in Forza" campaign. The car sports 770 horespower and can go from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and from 0-186 mph in 23.5 seconds. Its top speed is more than 200 mph.
"In other words, it's really freaking fast, "Microsoft said. "And you get to see it for the first time in Forza."
While you'll have to wait until June to learn more about the new Forza, developer Turn 10 Studios has announced a Forza 6 in-game event called the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. Basically, you can compete in time trial events and ranked multiplayer leagues using the 2014 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo, which is already in the game. Perform well enough and you'll earn the 2015 Huracan Super Trofeo car and an invitation to a second "season" of the series. Head to the Forza website to get all the details.
Microsoft has also confirmed some new Forza franchise numbers. On Xbox One alone, more than 10 million people have played Forza games across Forza 5 (2013), Forza Horizon 2 (2014), and Forza 6 (2015).
