Editing Xbox 360 game files for modding

I have no clue if this has been asked many a time but how do i change the files on my game disk for modding? There are a few games like Rage that i found require you to change the files on both disks to get things like god mode but i checked threads on this site and youtube but neither have the answer.

There are tools for some of the games out there; as I understand it, games with uncompressed or predictably compressed data files can be edited. See Renegade and Sephiroth's Deadspace 2 tool to get an idea of what to look for.
