well guys... here it finally comes
i called it Multi-Savegame-Editor as it can have more than just the Star Ocean editor ^-^


i hope you guys can give me some feedback and report bugs if you find any ^-^

02-28-2011 - now all updates and addons are included in the main app
02-28-2011 - Added the item editor addon (not needed if you downloaded the main file)

03-04-2011 - Fixed a bug where the Jukebox was shown as Perfect Berries
03-04-2011 - changed the saving order now equipments are saved first then the other items
03-04-2011 - changed the item amount for the Valuable items as well as
all the items as seen in the editor from Recipe Memo 01 to Jukebox
now only one of those will be added to your inventory not, as in the earlier version, 20

03-04-2011 - changed the behavior of the checklist for the equipment types
now if you click on an equipment it wont check/uncheck it,
it will just select the equipment to check/uncheck it you need to click on it
a second time

03-04-2011 - with the help of Reanimator i was able to fix a few more things in the Item Editor
03-04-2011 - fixed INT/DEF values, earlier version saved DEF values in the iNTs offset

well this one got the item part removed... for the moment till i can get all the factors of the items...
and you can now choose each single collection on its own... meaning
you can choose to unlock each single weapon data or ship data... you dont have to unlock them all at once anymore...
same goes for the trophies...
and as far as i could test all the collection part that were gathered so far should already selected by tge editor

the monster page now works as it should have from the beginning... (in earlier releases there was a bug that didnt unlock all the infos about the monsters)
now if you select the info box in the editor then you will see all the location where the monster can be found and what items it can drop

the character part should also work as some have said that the earlier release had some bugs in it...

that should cover everything in the editor atm...
and i hope it is bugfree ^-^'''

i wanted to ask you guys what would you prefer ?!
wait till i got all of the factors or are guys happy with them updated later on
that way i could release the item addon, maybe this we, with a few factors for some weapons, armors and accesories

if you want the item editor as soon as possible then i would suggest posting which factors you want most and i'll see if i have them already if not then i'll look for them and release the first version of the item addon

Since we waited this long, I don't mind waiting longer for you to get a good final release of this great app. Although I do miss the images of the chars and such like the months ago editor you released, it's good to see you've finally got around to updating and fixing whatever it is that needed to be fixed. You should maybe add the SF4 music along with this as well if you want like others have done with there editors (since yours look similar to the others as well in terms of interface type). :P

i know how to add 2 factos to an item... the third i need to figure out... and the fourth is easy again... but the fourth is also a bit weird...

so i think later when i get it to work properly i'll release it even if its not completed but that means you cant complain if something goes wrong... just give feedback so i can try to fix it ^-^'''

well... the images should still be there... the new components aren't really that great at these kind of things... if you maximize the window they should appear again (the images i mean)
and nope... i dont think i'll be adding music to it as i don't see a reason why... if people want to hear music then why not using a music player ^-^'
i think programms and tools that are not meant for music editing or media playing they dont need those kind of things
i for example dont like it if tools like these savegame editors play music... cause i listen to my own music... and i think most people do the same ^-^

As for the images, you didn't have any on the last one so my appoligies on thinking you did, must've been another editor...

(Oh wait you do have pics on the new one... forgot about the maximizing or dragging the app borders bigger as you'll need to do that in order to see Arumat under characters)

As for factors, seems that'll take a whole different approach so I guess it's better to focus on the item properties first and get that released rather than worrying about both and do a test release on that. Wish I could help but I've already completed the game already since long ago but if you need saves provided, I can do so for the item thing.

You should add an about like you did with the old one (which had a nice colorful pic on it) to show author, version number, changelog?. Good to know what versions we're using cause I was confused last time of the previous two versions you released which were iirc, v1.0.0.0 and v0.6.1.0 <--- this being the latest I think.

for example if you dont have any factors on the warning brooch then it wont work as described... in fact it wont have any effect ^-^
same goes for other stuff
if i didn't have to worry about the factors then i would have released the item part along with the original editor ^-^

well i'll see what i can do to release it as soon as possible...
as each equipment type has some special factors or the factors don't work with the same values... some do some not...
so it will take a bit of time to get them all...


an update on the properties thing... after a few tests i found out how all the factors now are saved... reading them out is a bit of a pain... but if i don't have to do it with the editor then its fine for now...

so when you get it sorted i take it we could add effects and bonus' to the weapons and armor maybe even creating a super accesssory for invunrability and inf mp or add gold per hit modifiers or someting like that.

I can´t get the charaters status to work, the first time i modded my status i used the old editor , but now i tryng to change the status with the new one, the editor is not saving the changes, when the editor start to save he show saving the quest data, BT data, Space Ship data, but don´t apear the percentage for charaters and the picture of the charaters don´t apear. I notice this only now because is the first time i using the new editor to mod my status.

there are some problems with the battle tropy,s data bt 97 98 99 100 , i selected all tropy,s but 97 98 99 and 100 are still open

my 3rd disc is damaged and can play with it anymore... till i get a new one...

oh yea i found something not working as it should...
if you change the beat points... dont set it to max... as that will cause the editor to crash
the max value you can set there is 4095 and the max value the filed will accept is 994095
this is the case for Beat:S and Beat:B

i'll update it with the items... or if there i found another bug...

I think the best thing to do is download the whole game from xbox to your harddisc, but you have to pay for the whole game again , or do you know somebody who has disc 3

and i can activate synthesis and get all the recepies there so i can create those that i cant get from disc 2 alone ^-^
and besides... i need to find the value of the factors that we can only get from synthesizing

If it isn't cracked, your local used game/music store may be able to resurface the game.

On the other hand, I had to exchange my copy of the game due to a damaged disk 1 that wouldn't take a resurface.

I found another problem, the quest in collection table are not working as the same way of the charaters late bug you mod tthe save but when you load the save you lost the active quests and the shop orders done apear to be done again. Every time you open your save in the save editor they apear n/a.

Edit: I create a second profile with the pupose of test here the result

1 When i cheked all colection 100% the batle trouph don´t show up, but checking one by one seems to work toght i do´t cheked tehn all only some of then.

2 The moster data don´t apear 100% after the cardianon mother ship, even if cheked one by one.

Space siph data and wapon data work corretly.

I am posting my save too, if you want to take a look.

The First one has no mod, the second is modded, sorry the are the saame slot and i forget to renme then to better better differentiate them.

Ps: Sorry the bad english.

Yes you right, these two saves dont´alow modification, i tried to save in game but no sucess; after this i loaded the first save I gave you earlier when i was in lemuris and the monster data showed up but no 100% trouph, then i started a fresh new game the 100% of mosnter, trouph, ship and wanpon worked perfecly (in the very first save after the opening introduction tested only with edge), but the problem with the quests remain everytime i open my save in the editor he changes every quest to n/a reseting the orders done or can´t let me finish the the quests started .

i tried your savegame... and after i saved in-game again i was able to change things...

about that quest problem...

I had completed the every quest avaliable at the moment, and I had active the shaddy dool quest, Further Fang Flute and if i not mystake crazy for lemon juice, as for the shop orders complete, aeos and lemuris the first villege. Like i sad i HAD because when i noticed that the quest are being reset I was back at lemuris before raok, i stoped at lemuris to do ques when i checked the orders in the lute´s villge i have notice that some orders tha i have done in my first visit had apeared again, i imagined this was my mystake and i had forgot to do, then a continued playig normaly but after i do everyting i have to do in roack to start doing the quest there , then i noticed the problem.

Edit: tested your new update , and seems that is working i tested making the 100% ceck box in my save in lemuris and the achiviments for completing 30 50 and 100 per cent of the quests showed up.

Since the other saves it´s somewhat bug I will restart from lemuris.

i accedently found how to activate all the characters...
now i'm going to test a few things before i can that its working ^-^
at least i know they appear in the save/load window... and they appear in the menu ^-^

if this really works then we can play with all the characters we want from the beginning ^-^

well i can activate any character at any time...
but so far they are removed once you get into cut scenes
didn't have much time to try it out after the first save point (before you start the first flight to aeos)
i added reimi, lymle, bacchus, meracle, sarah, myuria and arumat in there...
but after flying to aeos they were removed again...
later i'll try adding them again and move on with the story to see if they are removed again or not...
but so much is clear... once you add sarah to the team you can start using the synthesis menu in IC ^-^

but i'll concentrate more on that after finishing the items with the default factors ^-^'''

i got all the factors i needed for the weapons... which is the same amount as all the other equipment types together
so i could say i'm half through ^-^

it took me longer than i thought... but it was only because that one factor is saved completely different then the rest...
and element stats are added to some of them too... but now that this is out of the way it should go a bit faster with the rest ^-^

423 cybersam , i know you are busy but can you look at this save, its from infinite undiscovery , this save has - Character Stats, Fols, Stats Books, Skills Books, Scores Books, Potions Pack, Food Pack, Materials Pack, Shops Items Pack. since in this save you have only 80% of weapons, armors and accessories, can you make it 100% in need it because one achievment Compulsive (50) Obtain every item. hope you can.

a little info on the progress..
i finally got my computer working again (as without probs i hope ^-^)

i also managed to get all the necessary factor values for the equipments except for the Oracle's charm...
so if anyone got a save file with that item (this item you can get in woodley after the curious cat quest and is needed for another quest)
i would appreciate it if it's uploaded so i can add the missing factors too ^-^

now...
after getting everything i can finally finish the item editor and i hope i can release it this we...
and because i want to finally release it... i will also have to wipe the items again... but this time the editor will find out which item you have and select them for you when loading the save file
i also wont be adding a way to change the amount of the items as that would require more time and i don't think i could play this game any longer... ^-^
the only things that are missing will be added later on...

the next things will be an option to enable characters, change character relationship values and probably a way to open and close treasure chests...

but the tressure chests i'm not sure if i'm going to build a way to open every single one on it own... as that may take some time to research which value a chest has

well as i progress here i stumbled on some problems
i cant seem to read out all the values correctly for all the items
meaning if you use change something with them item editor you might lose previously synthesized items

i'll try to compensate as much as i can for this... but i can't guarranty anything...

the problems are only with the factors...
and only while loading a save file...
still need to create and try out the saving part... but i don't think there will be any problems with that

but before i do that i need to find a way to read out the correct equipped item...
or i'll have to remove the equipped items (i mean to just unequip them) ^-^'''

i've finished with the coding took me sometime as i always try things before going to the next part...
now... with that said... i'm going to release the item editor... but as i couldn't test if everything works well in-game its going to be a beta release
so please report anything if it works or not ^-^

here are now a few things to know about the item editor
the loading will be much longer with this... as it looks through every single item to see if you have it in the inventory and to look up its properties if it's an equipment
meaning... you will see the progress bar run fast through the food, usable, other, and valuable items but once it reaches the equipment it will slow down quite a bit
this is necessary to see what the attributes and factors it has and if the item is equipped or not

next...
if you have already seen the item editor in the earlier version you'll see a few similarities but some changes as well...
this has the factors activated and can select between a few selected ones if you need more than those you can always use the synthesis option in-game, load the save, open the item editor and activate the "Debug" option then select the item with the factor in question and pm me the all the factor values you'll see in the text fields

in-game you might notice that the elements are either gone of show some crazy numbers... ranging from 31 - (-30) or something but are mostly 0
well can't do much about that... it should always show 0 as i made sure not to touch anything related to the elements
but i had to say this just in case ^-^'''
i left the elements off the editor as these are quite complicated to implement...

one more important thing...
don't go around equipping everything to everyone that either wont work or will break your savegame
so don't say i didn't warn you ^-^

now about the factors...
once you've loaded your savegame you might see that some of the factors wont show up correctly
that is because how the 3rd factor is saved... and what element the equipment has
you can see that if you activate the "Debug" function

I encourage you to post a link to the "beta" version with a nice little warning. I would like to try it, but I don't know if I'll be able to try it before your other persons reply. My Xbox time is limited, but I might experiment.

Either way, I look forward to a release version, even if I can't have factors, I'd like to be able to add anything and then synth later.

Further note, please include an nfo or txt file indicating if the save file needs decryption, encryption, or resigning outside of the utility. It may be there now, but it isn't in any of the ones I have.

well...
you can have factors... at least the default ones and some others not many...
but the reason why i postponed the release was because of that bug i mentioned...
that bug cause the xbox to shutdown once the save is loaded
i fixed that... but there might be something, that causes the same thing, hidden in a different part...
that is why i dont wan't to release is it if there is such a bug still in it

hmm... i thought i mentioned it somewhere that the main app will rehash/resign for you so no other tool is required beside the one you use to get your save file
and this game doesn't need a de-/encrypter

Any way you could make it so that clicking on an item in the left pane doesn't check/uncheck the box unless the box is specifically clicked?

but i dont think that there should be a problem just throw away one of them so you always have 19 of those rings ^-^

The reason I asked about the check box, is if you edit some weapons, go to another weapon, and then come back, it basically gets rid of the weapons, since it unchecks the box as soon as you click back on the weapon. It would also provide a way to look at the factors without adding or removing the items.

It has been a while, I can't remember if you can discard valuables. Perhaps it would be safer to have valuables default to having 1 of them. Unless there are some you are meant to have more than 1 of.

hmmm... well if you uncheck the weapon it doesn't mean that its deleted the info you put in should still be in once you recheck it again... it only means that it will be removed from the item list once saved...
anyway... i'll change it so it doesn't uncheck when you click on it once... maybe its better that way ^-^

uh.... well i can make it so that only 1 of each valuable is added but for that i'll need retesting again...
as the order list in this game is quite tricky

It doesn't look like you can discard valuables, and it looks like there might be an issue recharging the rings, at least using the NPCs. In the save I'm playing, I have most of the rings, but the ring woman only gave me the option of refilling the fire ring.

I just confirmed there is a ring problem, I went through a full dungeon using several rings, some partway and some all the way, however the sorcerer NPC would only refill my fire ring, the other rings weren't even listed in the options. The charge skill still seems to work.

Another issue, Recipe Memos are not dropable, so if you have 20, you can't open chests with them. However every time you open the invention screen on the ship, the amount of them will decrease by 1, so if you're close to the ship you can clear a few out, but you get the invention screen every time you talk to the inventor lady.

Haven't run into anything else yet, just what I noticed on a run through to beat the Sanctuary.

I just played around with the new item editor a bit, two things I noticed. First, a lot of the armors I added with the editor, like the laser armor, didn't have any defensive values, and some had no values at all, I don't know if this was because they were added with the old editor or not (2-28-11 editor), a lot of items I picked up earlier in the game seemed to show up fine. Second, after editing some items, adding factors to an accessory and a defensive value to an armor, the save was corrupt when I attempted to load it in on my 360, if I had to guess, it would be the defense of the armors that was causing problems.

Something definitely seems to be up with the armors, and it may go back to the earlier version as well. I opened my backup save, and almost none of the armors have any defensive value listed, just Int.

I pulled up some Laser Suits I hadn't edited at all (added from the editor, not obtained in game), they have 900 INT but 0 armor listed. I just checked the a strategy guide, and that is opposite. I find that almost none of my equipable armor affects my stats other than INT. Some change the GRD even though the stat on the armor says 0. The Bronto Armor, instead of having -20 Hit, has 16364.

I fear the old editor may have messed up a bunch of my items, the new editor reads the incorrect values, so I don't know where the problem is. Is there a way to delete an item and then re-add it with default stats?

This may seem odd, but after zeroing the console id and rehashing with modio, the values are looking correct in the editor.

This is very very odd. Something with the order the old version saved the items? I'll try rehashing again and loading in the the 360.

It loads now, so either the game save needed to be saved with the new version of the editor, loaded with it again due to the item ordering, and then saved again, or there was a rehashing problem.

My guess is the former.

I don't know if it is related, but in my "Other Items" section in game, I have 20 Aqua Armors.

Ring refill at the NPC works again, now that the rings are set to 1.

nope not related... as i use 2 different functions one for equipment and one for the other items...
and that bug wouldn't cause the game to crash
and it looks like that the "Other Items" bug is a artifact from the earlier version....

i'm going to send you a new version of the item editor so you can test it to see if everything is working for you...
as i don't see any more bugs atm

i updated the furst post again and uploaded the newest version of the item editor (v1.0.4)
the only thing that doesnt seem to work well is
if some equipment have a negative attribute value (ATK,DEF,INT,HIT,GRD) the editor will save it as a negative value but the game wont care much about that and will read a a completely differen value (mainly as an insane high number for an attribute)

I can only seem to add factors to 1 item of the 20, if i add it to a 2nd or 3rd item, it seems to reset the other item.

When i load my game back into the editor, it also removes some of the factors from them, im tryin to make 4 +20 Xp weapons, and 4 of other items and stuff but it keeps reseting factors and stuff.

Hmm seems its only letting me set 1 factor per slot, and if i goto another item it moves that factor, for example, Laser Armor 1 - +20 XP / +20 XP / +20 XP / +20 XP, if i goto Laser Armor 2 and put +20 XP, it loses it from the first Laser Armor and moves it to the 2nd.

Would it be possible to be able to set how many of each item we want? like when we enable Laser Weapon, instead of having 20 automatically, we can check On/Off in the 2nd menu if we want it or not? like only be able to enable 4 of each item instead of auto 20?

well that has something to do with how the 2nd and 3rd factors are saved...
the editor can't read certain factors correctly
but if you activate the Debug function you can see what the values are
so if such factors appear where the factors are actually removed try to re add them by selecting those in the editor
if the factor in question is not a closable one then you can send me the info you get from the debug field and the name of that factor and i'll add it to the editor


uh... well thats not possible atm...
as it is tricky to add items because it is needed to change 3 different locations for just 1 item
and the hardest part is the Item Order...
i mentioned it throughout this thread and the in the workshop thread as well...
that option will not be available... as it requires a lot more work

If i add factors to items, it still moves them unless i skip like 3-4 items down, then it seems to be fine, if not it just seems to move the factors from 1 item to the next, cause i can change 1/3 and 2/4 will stay on the old item but 1/3 wont be there.

as for it not reading them, ive just been using the ones that are already in there, mainly the XP ones so i can level up :p

that can't be right...
please open MSE and click on the plugin button and tell me what version your Item editor has
the version should be 1.0.5.0

as i just retested it again... and this time i went through multiple weapons and change each factor for all the 20 items and it did work

the only problem there is and thats something i can't do much about
is when you choose a certain factor like the exp factor and put it in the 2nd and 3rd factor slot
then after saving and reloading the save file in the editor
it will remove those factors but in game they should still be there

that is because of how those 2 factors are saved...
thats why when some factors with high values like the exp factor is added to the 3rd factor slot
then it will make it imposible for the editor to know what factors are in the 2nd and 3rd slot (if the 2nd slot is used by another factor)

it should never the less work in-game after saving with the new factors...

Ya, okay I am retarded. I was missing half of the list because I had it minimized. I did run into something though. When I edit a game save, Faize loses his Earth Glaive default symbol. More than anything it is just a minor annoyance. Is there a way to keep the Earth Glaive from disappearing?

well i tried laoding this editor as a rar file but the attachement editor here never loaded the file...
so i went with 7zip but i prefer rar over 7zip... thats why everything else is in rar format...

hello sam, tks for awesome SE for star ocean this is the best.. i just want to report some error when adding Demon Sword Levantine to my save, i can equip it but when i go to customization and select the item or view it from item list menu, i always get in game crash.. almost forgot when editing armor stat (for -/+ stat) and then load it, some of my item become 15000+ INT.. please fix this if u have some free time ^^

Yes, but for some reason, the weapons and armor editing values won't stay. It seems you can only edit one item. You should not have to edit them anyway, because you can edit your character's stats instead. I have found too that if you add a recipe to your inventory too early, it crashes the game. So be careful!

Also make sure if you are doing the editor later in the game that you make sure Lymle has the Charge skill. I have found that if you have more than one ring, for example the earth ring, the NPC that charges them in the game will not display the other rings, just the fire ring. I don't know if its because you have twenty of each ring or if its just a glitch. My recommendation when using this editor is to use it at the very beginning of the game before you even add Reimi to your party.

It is still by FAR the best editor for this game out there, and don't forget to thank Cybersam for making it and updating it to a better version as well.

EDIT: I have to agree with the latter posts and I did ask Cybersam if he could may update the editor to allow for one item instead of twenty and I was told it is very difficult to accomplish this because the value of the item(s) are stored in 3 different locations. He might be able to do it for a few items, for example the key items, Rings, ID and other such rare items or quest items. One final edit of this program may be required. Thanks again Cybersam and I do hope you do one final update as you are the maker of the program.

The ring recharge was fixed one of the later versions of the editor. You may have to remove the rings and the readd them with the editor.

I was also able to change more than a single item in a category. Most of the problems can be solved by removing the items, saving with the editor, reloading, and then adding what you want.

Oh, and you can give charge to Edge if you want.

Works great so far.

Some tiny things to notice; I had to rehash and resign my Save still even though the program supposedly does it, otherwise it shows as corrupt in the game.

I had one request to make as well - Could you add an option where you can adjust the 'number of items' you have, or maybe at least make it so that it doesn't set your number to 20 for ALL items?

The reason I ask is because in order to open treasure chests you can't have 20 of that particular items. It's no issue to simply delete one item at the start of the game, but later on when you have many different items it does get a bit annoying.
Maybe you could add an option that allows you to choose which items it should max out, before resaving. Or just let us manually do it, not sure..
Another function that would be nice to have is maybe change affection of characters, if that's possible.

Other than that the tool is -really- awesome. Great work and thanks for this cybersam :D

i got it to work the thing i was doing wrong was not naming it .bin at the end for the extract file
i did have to rehash and sign it with modio tho and it also crashed on me once so far

I notice I get some weird food or other items on my neck accessories (ex. common egg, curry rice, platinum etc.) but can't be equipped its just there on the list) also when i goto use item in game section scroll to neck accessories pan down to the end game freeze
and when I go to in game synth I can't seem to activate them unless I delete all of them and purchase them at the vendor. (Only the beginning part of the item to be synth)

You have to be careful with the inventory editing of items. Sometimes I get that, too, especially if the editor is used late in the game. My recommendation is to use it early and try to avoid using too many weapon, armor, & accessory inventory item modifiers. Usually what I do is use the editor early in the game to get all the inventory items I want then, later on in the game I use a different editor that edits player and party stats only. Cybersam did a great job making this editor and its most up-to-date version is actually pretty excellent.

yea read them...

i didn't think that there would be such problems with the item editor though... as once you start the editor with the "item editor" dll then it will read the items you have
and when it saves it wipes all the item storages and rewrite them with new data
i did it that way so such problems with the items such as rice balls show in the accessory tab would be evaded... but it seems like this problem still exists... -.-

so well... i will work on a new version...
i'll redo some of the reading and writing functions and see if i can get the item editor to work as best as possible

but this will take sometime... so don't expect it too soon

I first suggest upgrading to USBXTAFGUI_v44, that is the one I use. I also suggest that you use the editor before you get too far into the game. More variables, ie more armor, weapons, items, & key items, could cause more problems with your save. I use it right at the beginning of the game even before you leave the moonbase and crash land. I use it one last time right after Lymle joins the party. After that you get the fire ring and that special fairy flower thing (which are KEY items). If it is still doesn't work use this formula for saving and putting the save back on the USB drive:

The following steps must be followed in order for this to work (BTW - These are the steps I use, so they may not match everyone else).

1. Get a USB Thumb/Pen Drive and utilize it to copy the save from your Xbox 360 to the external drive.
2. I use USBXTAFGUI_v44 to extract the save to my PC desktop.
3. I then use the Star Ocean Editor to change the values to what I want and then click save.
4. I copy this save to the desktop (overwriting the original one, if required).
5. I then use Modio to rehash/resign and save the file to the external usb device (again overwriting the original).
6. Finally load the save when your playing Star Ocean.

Hope this helps.

I would say my only issue with the editor is that is switches defence stats to int stats on armor. Also for some reason bronto armor gives 16500 to hit. And recipe memo 30 comes in as 29

i edited my save at the very first save point, and it corrupted one i got to the second world (cant remember its name but its after aeos) i got to the second villige you go to in the second planet and then no one would speak to me every talk i pressed talk they just nodded there head, any ideas on how this has happened and if there is a possible fix ?

This is an awesome SE for SO:The Last Hope, but is there a way to edit the amount of Bunny Races that have been won¿
I think we have to win the Class 100 races a HUNDRED times. It would be appreciated if we could edit this to 98 or something, and have to only win 2 races.
Please can this feature be added to the SE or would that be too much trouble¿

I was using 7zip, but I uninstalled and re-installed the application and it's working fine now. Thanks for the editor Sam! :D

To clarify in case anyone else has this problem in the future, re-installing 7zip helped which means the file was likely compressed with a newer version than what I had installed and therefore was using different compression methods.

Hi forum

I tried using the jormungandr program to edit my saved file of star ocean the last hope, this is what i do.

First i copy the save from my xbox 360 to the USB plug it into the laptop then Extract the Save game with USBXTAFGUI v0.06
to the desktop, then run jormungandr open the save file then change the some settings in there, now when I save the game its completes successfully then i use the USBXTAFGUI and delete the old Star Ocean Save file and inject the new file i edited

So when i load the game and try to load the save game its not in there its blank no save data record.

Can anybody please assists me with this, Thanks in advance

I would try a different program for transferring your save, maybe something like modio, to make sure the file is signed correctly. Alternatively, see if you can find a newer version of the USBXTAFGUI, a quick glance at my directory shows a version of at least v.31.

Okay after you extracted the MSE.7z, what error does the mse.exe give you¿
You have to use 7Zip to extract the archive you downloaded. After you extract it, you should have a folder named MSE that contains MSE.exe, MSE.exe.config, Plugins folder and a bin folder.
Run the MSE executable. If you're having problems extracting the zip, make sure your version of 7Zip is the latest version.

download that file and download the attached file (its the newest version of the Item editor)
to use that put it in the plugin folder of the MSE (you see it once you extracted the MSE.7z)

though if you don't want to use the item editor then just delete it from the plugin folder...

but if you want to use max items in inventory just select open the item editor (don't forget to get the new version if you haven't its the attacked file in the first post)

you have to know that once you load your save with the item editor enabled... all your items will be deleted and recreated... this is because of the way the items are stored... for the moment not really possible to just edit the amount... that's why i added the ability to change the item(equipments) status and factors... that way you don't really have to use the synthesis ^_^'

Feels to me like every Tri-Ace, Square-Enix RPG has an "emo" phase or something. Not that bad actually.
I liked Cappell's [Infinite Undiscovery] English VA when he got "emo" too, after "spoiler" was "spoiled" ^_^.

Maybe I'm just dense, but I can't seem to use this application without incurring a "Save data corrupt" message when trying to load the modified save. Is there a particular point I have to wait for to use the editor (ie: after the first fight, after Reimi joins, etc?)

I dont know if anyone noticed this but if you make accessories in game from monster data then save it, and then open your save up in the save editor it doesn't register as being there instead i found out once i saved it blah blah blah then loaded it up on the xbox that my monster necklace was now x99 iron and my other one was x10 blueberries and some where discardable and others weren't altho all where equipable lol.

I am going to assume a few items share id's or somethin ??? just a guess like :)

Small request, is there anyway you could easily remove the Key Item portion of the editor? I have to use the editor early in the game because if I use it later in the game, my rings get messed up and since the rings are key items, would it be easy to remove that part of the editor. As you know Cybersam, I use this editor and have tested about every aspect of it. This was the only problem I had with it. I am afraid to ask for this because I doubt you mess with this file much anymore.

well if you only edited the game early on you can just deselect items under the valuable tab... or at least those that you don't have/want
and you should be good to go

remember though... all the items are always deleted and rewritten...
so if you remove something from here it will be removed from the game as well...

Sorry I asked, but I don't like messing with the key items at all. The other functions rock, I guess I could mess with them a bit more to make sure my rings don't get messed up and I can go the ring lady to charge them or just use Lymle's charge thing early. I know it was quite a bit to ask and you have more important things to do Cybersam, but thanks for answering me promptly either way.

Cybersam, I just want to thank you for the editor. It's really very wonderful. This is the first time I've ever modded anything for the Xbox and it worked on my first try. I'm really happy with the program. I had missed some quests and I am trying to be an achievement whore, so this allowed me to restart basically from where I was equipment, FOL and SP-wise from the beginning.

However, my ONLY bug/question is regarding items.

If I attempt to sell any items after giving them to myself (you automatically give us 20 of anything we select, for example,) it will not allow me to do so. If I get rid of, say, a blueberry, then acquire another one, I am able to sell that one I acquired "legitimately", but it will not allow me to remove what the program provided.

Is this a known issue, or happening with anyone else? Is there any known possible fix? I didn't see anything in the posts about this, specifically.

Also, just so it's known, if you give someone a skill they aren't meant to have (or able to get legitimately,) then they will not be able to use that skill in-game. For example, I wanted Reimi to be my primary healer in the end and she could not use the healing spells I attempted to use. This also holds true for some of the combat skills. It will say "Missed!" or just do nothing (what happened when Reimi attempted to heal Edge from the combat Symbology list.)

Hey there having an issue with a save file i tried to make. It won't unlock the 100% BTs for me, it doesn't even show that i have all but one, i had wiped my collections data prior to this so if that has an effect any thoughts on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated :)

I've heard about a hidden collections file somehow linked to your gamertag anyone know about that?

Hello!! I made a lot of tests and the problem is this:

When i check the item "Skill Manual Faerie Star", i get "Skill Manual Anthropology".
When i check the item "Skill Manual Anthropology", i get "Skill Manual Botany".
When i check the item "Skill Manual Botany", i get "Skill Manual Entomology".
When i check the item "Skill Manual Entomology", i get "Skill Manual Parapsychology".
When i check the item "Skill Manual Parapsychology", i get nothing at all.

All the other items are working fine. And when i close and open the editor again, the items are correctly checked.

I'm a hardcore completionist, but i'm only bothering you because "Faerie Star" is the best healing skill in the game.

I have a problem with this program and I was wondering if it happened to anyone here... if there's anyone left.

I've been trying to add 1 item for quite a while, just one, and for some reason the game just freezes up every time I try to check my "USE" inventory the game just freezes, locks up.
The item I'm trying to add is Love Potion No.256 to increase everyone's affection levels to unlock the endings. Can anyone help me out with a solution?

I have the same problem. When i put the save file back on to the HDD, the game said that the save file isn't there but it is...

I'm using Vista. Every time I open the save file, I keep getting an error message and I had no choice but to close the program every time. I used Horizon to extract my save game file to my desktop then try to edit it with MSE. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Please help :)

The editor is potentially great, but there are two things I must say. One is that there are two "Items" modding icon, and only the second one works. No big deal as long as you know about this. The real problem is that it automatically sets all the items owned to 20...which sounds good at first, but is tremendously glitchy with any moderately advanced save. I can't even enter my inventory menus without getting a Fatal Crash because of too many items that I'm probably not supposed to have. The editor would be infinitely better if it didn't set every item to 20 by default (even when modding totally different things...), and if it could give a more ranged choice instead of just 0 or 20. If it doesn't take much to do this, please consider doing so, it would turn the tool from unusable to basically perfect.

The real problem is that it automatically sets all the items owned to 20...which sounds good at first, but is tremendously glitchy with any moderately advanced save. I can't even enter my inventory menus without getting a Fatal Crash because of too many items that I'm probably not supposed to have. The editor would be infinitely better if it didn't set every item to 20 by default (even when modding totally different things...), and if it could give a more ranged choice instead of just 0 or 20. If it doesn't take much to do this, please consider doing so, it would turn the tool from unusable to basically perfect.

WTF¿ It seems you are the one who is having issues with your saves. The editor is perfect in all the functions it does. If it's setting all the items you have owned to 20, that's not a big deal as that wouldn't cause the crash.
And even if you give yourself an item you shouldn't have, it shouldn't break the menu. Unless you're using an older version, which gave you 20 copies of the key items you had, the updated version fixed that ages ago.

The only thing this editor really needed was the bunny race amount won editor, but that's not so bad.

First, calm down or don't even talk to me. Second, it is the latest release, it does crash my game, and it does create gamebreaking problems to have maxed out inventory. The fact that it doesn't for you doesn't mean that it doesn't for anybody.

There's also another issue, every equipment added with the editor has 0 synthesis capacity, which means no possibilities of customization over that. I really don't mean to sound like an a**hole, but as I already said it seems to me that removing the auto-modding of items would improve the use of the tool dramatically.

I noticed that there are some strange Neck Accessories, called Bigberries and Bizarre Fruit. These are normally two usable items, not Neck Accessories...I think they are related to the Fatal Crash intercepted, since scrolling the inventory down to them causes it every time.

First off, I wanna say thank you for this great tool!!! It helped me get just acouple of my missing achievements.

I have 1 issue if someone can possibly help. I'm trying to get that last 100% Battle achievement. I load up the file, & modify almost everyone except 1 battle trophy under Sarah, so that it can be popped in the game to get the 100% achievement. When all is done & saved back to the thumb drive, I load up the file, it shows that everyone has 100% Battle trophies (including Sarah). I looked again at both the file on the pc & on the thumb drive for the XBOX, & both still only show 1 battle trophy missing from Sarah. I loaded up the original non-modified file & that still shows I'm missing the ones I was missing before I edited the file to only 1 battle trophy left to get. So why is the game showing everyone including Sarah having 100% Battle trophies?

that is because all trophies and data is also saved in your profile...
start a new game and reset the trophies...
then it should work ^_^

Thanks for the amazing SE. Only figured out one small problem which is that the .7z file can't be extracted with the latest winrar (not sure about previous versions). Had to use 7zip for this.
