Apple CEO Tim Cook was spotted at Valve’s headquarters in Washington recently sparking rumours that the Steam Box could be a joint venture between the two firms.

Earlier today a Valve computer engineer stated via Twitter that he was working on “next-generation hardware”. If turns out to be true then it could be a very exciting E3 indeed.

I believe if Apple were to join in, this would have the price of the first PS3's and would spark nothing out of my wallet. Yes, please put an Apple symbol on my product and charge me 150% more.

While I'm not convinced about this alleged team up with Valve I think its inevitable that Apple will jump onto the console market at some point, maybe even in the form of a stand alone handheld or something.

Great. The price of their console will be more expensive than the xbox 360 S and PS3 price combined.

I do agree it'd be expensive, but I also think it'd be extremely interesting, given the fact it's been how long since we've seen a console from someone other then the usual suspects?
