It is a fact that no one can deny, mobile technology is advancing real quick. Well, how quick is that?
NVIDIA is giving us a glimpse at mobile graphics performance in the not-so-distant future, most notably estimating that the continuous advancement in the tech will reach a level where Xbox 360 graphics could be achieved on our phones throughout the time-frame 2012-2014.
As seen below, via a presentation graph given to AnandTech (http://www.anandtech.com/show/5762/nvidia-plots-mobile-soc-gpu-performance-surpassing-xbox-360-by-2014), we can see the predictions for PC, console and mobile GPUs over the next few years, as sighted by graphics hardware giant, NVIDIA.

While the respective trajectories are a given performance wise, NVIDIA expects the leap in mobile graphics to withhold that of Xbox 360’s due to a steeper rate of improvement in the coming years. Nonetheless, by then, the market should be ready enough to accept a new console. What do you think?
