Last week Sony officially announced God of War: Ascension, the next title being developed by Santa Monica Studios, you can see the reveal trailer here. Now Sony have unveiled something else about the game; It has Multiplayer!

You can expect to see the same brutal, action packed, 3rd-person gameplay that is in the singleplayer, although there will be some tweaks to balance out the combat.
The mutliplayer will also feature customisation for your characters, as well choosing which God to side with, this will then change what abilities you can learn and level up, as well as which equipment will be available to use.
Sony revealed the first details of the games Multiplayer, this includes online gaming for the first time in the series. The game mode that was revealed today is called Execution, this puts players in a 4v4 competitive match in which you must fight to take control over 2 areas on the map, then the team who controls both areas is granted the Spear of Olympus to take down a huge beast that interacts with the battle throughout. The other team must then stop you from doing so.

It's said that the Multiplayer will feature at least 7 different maps, ranging from environments and size, these will also be unique and not pieces of the Singleplayer campaign. It will definitely be about quality over quantity.
