I have only used this product a few times to back-up my games onto DVD+R DL discs. There is no damage to the drive. The only reason I am selling it is due to I own a computer now. If your computer can't power this, or does not have a 2.0 USB slot, there is 2 USB connections on the wire. Also comes in original box.
