how to change the xbox file type into one readable by a save editor

I've been attempting to edit my save file for dragon's dogma, and the editor tells me to open the DD_SAVEDATA_00. the only files i see are DATA_--. is there any way to change this?

I have scoured the site as well as the rest of the internet to find a program to do this, yet it has proved futile :(

Are you extracting the file from the CON file? If so just open the whole save into it and it should do the rest by itself.

I'm opening it from the Xbox 360 file from my usb. Is there a file i should move the information to?

No just extract your save that starts with DD_SAVEDATA and if their isn't anything there on your USB then you have the wrong save.
