Yeah thanks, i just started working with configuring bytes in VB i mostly work with networking which is manipulating bytes through a protocol hence remote administrative tools

Next update i will include the following features:
-Players position (Every player that was in your lobby it will show their X, Y coordinate)
-Spawn point (You will be able to change the spawn location of new players via x,y coordinate(s)

Cool! One question....and sorry to sound noobish lol! Do you still need to fill up your inventory in game first with junk like the other editor or can you just edit a blank (empty) inventory from scratch with your editor?

You'll need to fill up your inventory, 1 item per slot.
Reason being is my program Modifies the Slots it doesn't create them.

Well I just edited a fresh save with this and it worked like a charm. Enough stuff to keep me occupied for a while lol! Excellent work! I look forward to your update as well. Thanks again.

Also if you guys get an invisible item in subitems(6) (Item name) It means the resources of the file does not include this item ID/Name
it will still work. To view all of the item ids go to: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Data_values

Look under HEX for the item ID. There must be four digits, if it only has two you must put two zeros in front ex: A8 = 00A8

AVG would detect it's own damn mother as a virus. Also turmoilisgod, the editor now seems to auto fill my save with wool in every slot when it loads up lol! Is that suppose to happen?

That's weird, shouldn't be happening. If you load up the SAVE into the application and it's all wool most likely it was the 'make all' function that caused it. Try re-extracting the SAVE from your world.

I should be releasing v1.2 tonight along with a new feature (Edit player(s) positions)

Ok I'll try that and see what happens. I'll also load an extra fresh save to see if there is any difference between the two. Maybe mine just went haywire or something somehow lol! Thanks.

No idea lol! I did what you said and the newly extracted copy worked like a charm this time. The fresh save did also. Something must have just went silly with the other copy of my save lol! Probably just a freak glitch. It's all working now so it's all good.

Also what is the purpose of 'Slot' Hex value? It is the Hex / ASCII representation of the word "Slot".

When i write to the file it keeps it in order, i don't want to put the values that can't be changed in a separate variable, Makes everything unorganized.

Hi turmoilisgod, quick question. In v1.2 what is the damage edit for? Is that to edit how much damage an item can do or is it to edit how much damage an item can take before it breaks? (probably a dumb question but I'll ask anyway lol! )

A pickaxe will break faster if the damage increases & it will mine faster, a sword will increase in how hard you hit your opponent etc. I don't test this savegame editor at all, i have a couple friends that do it before i release.

Durability is a better term. As far as I know, the item has a set rate of block depletion, thus the speed can not be changed based on damage alone.

If i understood, that means if we changed the damage of a gold pickaxe it wouldn't break as fast? But it would still have the same speed?
Also, can anyone here test out what i have so far? I need someone to create a new world and give me the save, I will attempt to modify the health to see if i can achieve godmode.

AFAIK you won't achieve godmode, but you will live far longer, however the in game indicator will not show the correct life total status, and therefore can cause issues. You will feel invulnerable however will not be and in a moment will become dead without knowing it is coming, from a false sense of safety from the "Godmode". If I can get a chance to send you a save I will do such for you. I'm a bit drunk now and I'm surprised I'm even responding. Bad not playing MW3 drunk I suppose. As far as the gold pickaxe goes, I'm not sure, I did not test a default gold vs diamond pickaxe damage level. That would be worth testing.

Tested the 'god mode'. Took me awhile to find a good stable value, FF FF which is maximum that it can read kills you instantly, probably a negative value. But in DEC it's 65535 so i wasn't exactly sure. The perfect value was around 20k. The gold pickaxe with higher damage makes it better than the diamond pickaxe (with the damage configuration of course). It mines faster and it doesn't break as easily.
You do make a good point, but keep in mind the default value of hp is 20. Which takes around 2 seconds to die in lava. 20 x 1000 = 20k, 2 x 1000 = 2000 seconds

It's a good chunk of time, they can save and modify their health.

By that I mean does your health just take a longer time to wear down and need refreshing again later ( aka eating ) or are you indeed totally invincible and can take no damage at all? (actual god mode)

AFAIK he modified the life total to a high stable amount. Meaning that it gives you a lot of life, I'm not sure if you can bring your life total back up to that level. I believe that you would need to use the program to gain that level again.
Based on a previous post, it seems that the life total is around '20K', about 1000% of its normal value.

How are you suppose to find out what items are on your guy? just kinda guess and remember what you had on you? cuz it says 7 other players have saved on my file and i have no clue what items to mod haha, wish it said your name or some way to make it easyer. But non the less thanks for the editer, fun stuff to mess around with =D

Thanks for this tool. Works flawlessly :)

Suggestions:

1. Make Selection Edit always enabled. (Just annoying to have to keep enabling it imo if used a lot)
2. Make tabs if the save has more than 1 player. (If possible? It should be but idk :))
3. Make some boxes for the main inventory and then the carrying inventory. (Again if possible?)

didnt work for me at all. After extracting the main program file i got a virus threat from it so upped my security and opened it anyway but got a error message saying i may not have the appropriate permission to access the file.

Hey i know there are some things in the mod that you cant put into the game but when i tried to mod it with just the normal stuff it freezes horizon and makes it force close.. Is there something wrong im doing or do you need to update it again? Also, id really like to be able to use the monster spawns so that i can have them spawn whenever and where ever id like.

Not sure what operation your conducting is causing Horizon to FC. I would suggest that you make sure you extract the files to a temporary location from Horizon then Inject them after you have saved your changes, rehashed and resigned.
Also my experience with monster-spawners is that they only spawns pigs. I'm not sure if and how you could modify the creature bit(s) that would change what it spawns. The code for the game does not support more than pigs currently if I recall correctly. I'll look into this and see for myself though.

Just as a side note on spawners, you can see what creature they will spawn, spinning in the middle. I have noticed that after you break them they tend to show the fire effect even after the spawner has been destroyed, and the presence of light also seems to improve the spawn rate of the pigs I've spawned.

Hope my rambling was of some use to you.

EDIT: Follow this link to the Minecraft Wiki (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Monster_Spawner) This shows that it is not possible to pick the monster that is spawned, also confirms that lighting and additionally grass block(s) are(is) required to spawn pigs. Hope that helps.

I extract the savegame.dat place it into the editor load the save edit my items place the save to my desktop and when i try to inject it back into the contents of my save horizon blurs/goes all white then it just stays that way for awhile then force closes.. I read the "read me" in the folder and i dont think ive done anything wrong.. Just in case can i send you my save/world so that you can try to mod it for me?

As far as I knew the limit was 64. As for sticky pistons, add the slime to your inventory and make your own lol! It's on the list.

For The sticky Piston, open up "list.txt" in 'Item List' folder. Then add "001D:Sticky Piston D" without the quotes. The process is the same for anything else that may be missing from the lists.

Has to be 4 bytes long so hence the reason for the two "0" before the hex number.) Keep in mind that while adding items to the list you need to follow the same list format as the other items.
Also I'm not sure if there was a reason or not that the items where not listed. So try it out and see and let us know. If I find some time, I'll parse a list of the complete items, and see if turmoilisgod will add an option to show items that are in 1.6.6 and 1.7.3 etc. Good luck.

Note on the 255 items: I have not confirmed this in my own testing but as far as I know, the game code will not load that value due to the number being higher than expected (64), there is a glitch in the game that allows for more items than 64, however it is a temporary glitch until reboot, and I believe can not be recreated through a modified save file.

turmoilisgod if you don't mind sharing your source, I was working on a version of the editor for myself but stopped since you picked it up, I wouldn't mind working on UI and other additions to your source if you would like to work together. as far as i know 255 is the maximum; 255 = FF. Anything above 255 is three bytes which isn't read by minecraft

Note on the 255 items: I have not confirmed this in my own testing but as far as I know, the game code will not load that value due to the number being higher than expected (64), there is a glitch in the game that allows for more items than 64, however it is a temporary glitch until reboot, and I believe can not be recreated through a modified save file.

turmoilisgod if you don't mind sharing your source, I was working on a version of the editor for myself but stopped since you picked it up, I wouldn't mind working on UI and other additions to your source if you would like to work together. I will be making it open source soon :) I'm going to have to clean the code, utilize threading with delegates of course. Comment it for others to see how everything works, take out the package.io dependency and create a function for bytestohexstring using the bitconverter class.


i did discover a minor bug.

When replacing bytes, if any slot ids have the same configuration during startup say you have

00 - 0007 - 255 - 0000

It will replace the same slots of other players if they have the same thing...

I've already fixed this problem in the upcoming update..

as far as i know 255 is the maximum; 255 = FF. Anything above 255 is three bytes which isn't read by minecraft

64 is the in game max for most items, however some items like snow balls have a max of 16. However the game will usually accept up to 64, anything over that in my tests results in game save load failure.

I haven't tried all the items so i couldn't argue, but i can tell you that bedrock can be stacked 255 times in one slot. This will present as "63" if you press Y. If you attempt to give this stack of "63" to someone it will drop 3 64s and 1 63 = 255

I guess, i could use a little enhancement.

Do you have any knowledge of detecting an offset with a pattern of bytes then copying that offset to another offset? I'm trying to make it so users don't have to extract the savegame.dat from the .bin

Those items are not yet implemented in the game and will cause errors loading the game save almost certainly.
Try to stick with items that are in the game for the 1.7.3 version.
Also note that you can place bedrock down, however since bedrock can not be mined, once down it can not move.

If you mean the savegame.dat, it must be in the same folder as the save editor so it can read it when you open the file.

I've just always followed the instructions text file that's included in the folder with the editor and it works every time perfectly for me. Once you extract your savegame.dat in Horizon, it's really simple if you follow it carefully.

Another thing to note yourself people is that when you modify the spawn point you will not spawn at that point if you've saved the world while you were spawned in. You must kill yourself or invite a player that wasn't in the world before to see the new spawn point. Also take note that it won't be a direct coordinate as to where you spawn, but it will be close to it.

i follow the step but the thing that confused me i was put the save.bin in the directory to where the editor is... doe sthat mean the same folder cuz i try to put it there on the back up file to but it didnt work i keep getting the same error sorry for being such a noood... this is the first time i had problem with open a file...

Drag your save.bin into horzion, go to content > extract savegame.dat thats the file you need.

1. Open save in horizon ( make sure to leave it open until the very end.)

2. Click contents tab

3. right click savegame.dat and select extract (to folder with editor in it)

4. open savegame.dat in editor and mod it then hit save.

5 once finished right click savegame.dat on your open save in horizon and select replace and replace it with the modded one in the editor folder.

6 Rehash/resign and put it back on your xbox.


How hard is that? This is how I've done it about 10 times now and it's worked perfectly all times.

Have to look at the Hex column for items.

I suppose you could also look at the text file that is included with the program, you can use the editor that you open it with's search function for the item Id's.

There are several reasons it says that, the important reason being that it uses similar methods to modify the game save as malicious software would to steal information or infect your PC.
This however does not contain any harmful code, and is safe to run. You might have to temporarily disable your antivirus software in order to download and run this program. It's common practice with this type of software.

It's a pretty neat program, not sure if it's bug free though.
Please clarify what you mean by your previous comment about it being the same as a "cheat save".
This is similar method to almost all other save editors. There is a readme included. As always direct questions back here if you have any. :)

I just used the editor to mod several items to 255 and they show up fine in game but when you place the 255 items in a chest they change back to 64. Is this suppose to happen? I open up the chest again and they are only in 64 lots. I take them out and they stay the same. Any idea why they change from 255 back to 64 when you store them?

Because the game was programmed to limit the inventory to 64 max in a stack. It's not supposed to go that high. It's surprising that you were able to get even some items to stay that high in inventory.

Yeah they showed up as 63 in main inventory but if I put them in the bottom bar where you use things, they showed as 255. I did some testing and it seems as long as I don't store them, they stay at the 255. It's ok though. Having an inventory full of 64's is better than nothing lol!

Please clarify.. The additional tool in previous posts is so you can select an item and it copies the item ID to your clipboard.

Damage modification, or Item durability (Integrity), is maybe what you mean.

Updated my assistant a little, it's incomplete as i was planning on adding ftp support for those of us with unsigned-capable consoles but the basics work.

So now the tool will take your save you took from your xbox, extract the savegame.dat for the editor to use. You then do whatever you want on the editor, save and then go back to my assitant and have it put the file back into its con file and rehash & resign it so all you have to do is pop it back on your xbox.

If you'd like to integrate this into the editor feel free to pm me and i'll send you the code. :026:

There are no Editors on this site that have any form of viruses in them. If you don't want to trust them, then go away and make your own Editors. Stop spreading false info.
