Anonymous claims it broke into the PlayStation Network and has a 50 gigabyte database of email accounts and their passwords. Ten million accounts "are at risk," says the hacker involved. The passwords appear to be encrypted, and many of the accounts published in this document appear to be from northern Europe. This still would be a great time to double-check your password security.
Kotaku has contacted Sony for comment and will update as the situation progresses.

It came out it was a hoax. Anonymous clearly have nothing better to do than try and cause some aggro.

Why claim to do it when they probably could do it with enough effort? Either way it makes no sense since what do they gain out of it?

Not Anonymous. Anonymous DDoS'd and hacked Sony before the whole shenanigans with the month long downtime of PSN and backed off because they were trying to attack Sony not the consumers.
