Well Madden 13 just leaked, and I was thinking how cool it would be to have an editor for career mode. So here is my save. If someone wants to figure out the checksum and make a fixer for it that would be great, all that's really needed is the xp to be modded so it would be easy hex editing for everyone. Have fun!!!!!

The save is compressed, i used Offzip to decompress the save, was able to find the XP is at 0x3289E4. Problem is trying to re-compress, Couldn't figure it out yet.

If you used offzip that means the save has Zlib compression. Just recompress it with Simplyzip dude, there's probably size checks too. I didn't download it so I don't know yet lol.

xdino
08-26-2012, 02:40 AM
Pretty sure there is too, using packzip it undersized the file alot. pretty much left out all the 0s at the end of the file

Simplyzip doesnt work either, file is undersized

Awesome I was just going to try and tackle this. I am using a jtag converted to a devkit. I was trying to do real time edit using ascension and ida pro. Couldn't find the addresses. I really wish we could have something like Cheat Engine to run on the activegame files on the 360.

When saves are compressed like this, isn't it likely that it will be very difficult if not impossible to make an editor for such game? Sort of like Skyrim where all the specific values are randomly skewed throughout the hex for every different save? Just asking, since I'm no expert on coding.

the answer to your question is No it wouldn't be impossible all we need is the length of the file so that we can decompress and re compress to that exact length then it would be possible to make an editor and right now I'm making an attempt to do it but struggling very badly seeming as can't figure out how to do this

Any updates on this. I know EA Sports games are low on the priority list on a lot of the forums. I can't believe NO ONE has come up with an EA Sports trainer yet. I have never seen one out there. I am a novice at these things. I am trying to learn everyday. I tried to get a head start on it when NCAA 13 came out. Using the xex, I was only able to change some camera angles / colors in real time. I could never find the address that is involved in the XP. I was using simpledump / IDA Pro / Ascension to try and poke real time values. I figure the xp values are in the RAM. I dumped the RAM using simpledumper. I just don't know how to load it properly into IDA Pro. If I can load it into there properly, I can look for .float, like I did with xex. And try and poke values. Any help would be great.

I can't find my Xp values anywhere. I used modio to extract the save out of the bigger game save. I have 2 different saves with the only difference being, I purchased one package for 2,500 xp points. Comparing the 2 saves in Hex workshop, there are a TON of replacements. Not sure how you go about finding your xp points, as it seems to jump around everywhere. I wish I new the basefile, pointer, offset for that. I hope you had better luck than I did.

Madden NFL 13 XP Tutorial for Dynasty Mode (Career)

DISCLAIMER: I've included EA Resigner (thnks Mojobojo) and pre-configured folders. Ensure that you have XP...this means don't try this if you haven't accumulated any XP. I use Hex Workshop (not included) but you can use your Hex editor of choice. I've made this step by step as easy as I could...I did not include Horizon or a Hex Editor...if cmd.exe included doesn't work, use your own (I'm on Win 7 64bit)...one more thing, I use a JTAG/RGH 360 but tutorial should work for all....Dont 4get to THANK

1) After you have XP (for example we will use "722") save your game (Career) to usb stick and then exit to Xbox Dashboard

2) Connect Usb to PC and open Horizon (that's what I use). Extract Career save (example: CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm) and save in Madden 13 Modding Folder. Make a copy of this file and place it in Original Backup Folder (as a backup)

3) Go back to Horizon and click Package Manager----Open (select your CAREER-XXXXX_XXXXX in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)---Contents---(right click CAREER-XXXXX-XXXXX)---Extract----(Extract to Contents Folder in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)

4) Go to Contents Folder and rename the CAREER-XXXX-XXXXX file to Career.sav

5) Open cmd.exe---Type without quotations "offzip.exe -a Career.sav Compressed 0" and press enter. It will extract 1 file (00000050.dat) into the Compressed Folder

6) Go to Compressed folder and open 00000050.dat with Hex Workshop (that's what I use)

7) In Hex Workshop search for your XP (remember we are using 722 as the XP example amount) by searching 02D2 (Raw Hex/Motorola short byte for 722). The location of your XP will always be at address 003289E4. Change 02D2 to FFFF and save and exit Hex Workshop

8) Copy 00000050.dat file you just modified and paste it in the Contents Folder. Open cmd.exe and type (without quotations) "packzip.exe -o 0x00000050 00000050.dat Career.sav" and press enter. This will compress the dat file back into the save. Rename Career.sav to original name (ex: CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm).

9) Open EA Resigner---click Resign File---select the file CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm in your Contents Folder----and it should complete successfully----exit EA Resigner

10) Go back to Horizon and click Package Manager----Open (select your CAREER-XXXXX_XXXXX in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)---Contents---(right click CAREER-XXXXX-XXXXX)---Replace----Select the CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm in the Contents Folder----Save,Rehash,Resign----Save to Device

11) Place Usb back into Xbox 360 and now you have 65,535 XP

packzip.exe -0 00000050 0x00000050.dat Career.sav doesn't work but when changed to: packzip.exe -o 00000050 00000050.dat Career.sav it does and the offset is 0x00000032

1) I edited the tutorial to show that you recompress by typing packzip.exe -o 0x00000050 00000050.dat Career.sav

2) Whatever name offzip produced for the dat file is the offset (ex: "offzip.exe -a Career.sav Compressed 0" placed 00000050.dat in the Compressed Folder) 00000050 is the offset (0x00000050)

3) 0x00000032 can't be the offset if offzip gave you 00000050.dat----offset would be 0x00000050

make sure u extract the file inside the save and then use the decompress tool. Im going guess that you just decompress the save .
