Madden NFL 13 XP Tutorial for Dynasty Mode (Career)

DISCLAIMER: I've included EA Resigner (thnks Mojobojo) and pre-configured folders. Ensure that you have XP...this means don't try this if you haven't accumulated any XP. I use Hex Workshop (not included) but you can use your Hex editor of choice. I've made this step by step as easy as I could...I did not include Horizon or a Hex Editor...if cmd.exe included doesn't work, use your own (I'm on Win 7 64bit)...one more thing, I use a JTAG/RGH 360 but tutorial should work for all....Extracted 0 (0 is number zero) Packzip.exe -o (o is lowercase letter)....Have Fun & Don't Forget To Thank

1) After you have XP (for example we will use "722") save your game (Career) to usb stick and then exit to Xbox Dashboard

2) Connect Usb to PC and open Horizon (that's what I use). Extract Career save (example: CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm) and save in Madden 13 Modding Folder. Make a copy of this file and place it in Original Backup Folder (as a backup)

3) Go back to Horizon and click Package Manager----Open (select your CAREER-XXXXX_XXXXX in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)---Contents---(right click CAREER-XXXXX-XXXXX)---Extract----(Extract to Contents Folder in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)

4) Go to Contents Folder and rename the CAREER-XXXX-XXXXX file to Career.sav

5) Open cmd.exe---Type without quotations "offzip.exe -a Career.sav Compressed 0" and press enter. It will extract 1 file (00000050.dat) into the Compressed Folder

6) Go to Compressed folder and open 00000050.dat with Hex Workshop (that's what I use)

7) In Hex Workshop search for your XP (remember we are using 722 as the XP example amount) by searching 02D2 (Raw Hex/Motorola short byte for 722). The location of your XP will always be at address 003289E4. Change 02D2 to FFFF and save and exit Hex Workshop

8) Copy 00000050.dat file you just modified and paste it in the Contents Folder. Open cmd.exe and type (without quotations) "packzip.exe -o 0x00000050 00000050.dat Career.sav" and press enter. This will compress the dat file back into the save. Rename Career.sav to original name (ex: CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm).

9) Open EA Resigner---click Resign File---select the file CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm in your Contents Folder----and it should complete successfully----exit EA Resigner

10) Go back to Horizon and click Package Manager----Open (select your CAREER-XXXXX_XXXXX in the Madden 13 Modding Folder)---Contents---(right click CAREER-XXXXX-XXXXX)---Replace----Select the CAREER-AUG26_10h33m17pm in the Contents Folder----Save,Rehash,Resign----Save to Device

11) Place Usb back into Xbox 360 and now you have 65,535 XP

If you followed the steps word-for-word you should not have a problem. Step #10----Did you "Replace" or "Insert"? If you selected "Insert" it will give you the 6,288kb size...No offense but if you follow the instructions & Disclaimer you will not have a problem. If you are using different applications than what I'm using/posted in tutorial...I'm sorry that may be the issue

If someone (other than myself) has gotten this to work using these instructions, please confirm.

Haven't tried anything past FFFF (65535) give me a few and I'll test and see

I tried FF FF FF but it bumps you down to F FF FF, so thats the most you can have for what ive seen

6,288kb is fine as long as you followed the instructions it will work

Ive tried this 5 times now. It isn't that hard. I am following the steps exactly. When I load up offline career, it just freezes, and I have to restart 360. Could someone look at my save and see what is going on? Here is the latest one that I edited.

I knew that it works...
1) To get it past 65,535 you need to first mod it to 65,535, then go accumulate more XP (ex: complete easy 200 XP practice) then save and exit to dashboard

2) Follow tutorial....Search for new amount (65,735=100C7) and change to FFFFFF

I wonder if we could lower the cost of the upgrades. instead of 200xp or 50,000 xp we can make them 0 xp or 1xp or even negative xp. Could that be done in the xex?

Anyone got any ideas why my saves don't work after this. I used the one you provided. I even used a USB stick to try and load the save in. Still hangs after loading successfully.

I finally figured it out. Horizon was jacking up my save. When I used 360revolution it worked no problem. Thanks again for all of your help. Do you know if that save that we edit in Hex Workshop, also holds any other stats?

I am also having this same problem. But I tried Horizon 360revolution and Modio all with the same results freezes after the save is loaded. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

I'm also having problems with the game freezing once the save is loaded, using both Modio and Horizon for transferring my save. I did notice during a 2nd attempt that my save was only 3.09MB instead of 3.1MB. Any idea what this might indicate, problem wise? Thanks.

When you had the file size of 3.09 was that with Modio? I noticed with Modio that my file size was smaller than the original.

Well I final got it to work. Only thing I did differently was moved all files onto C:\ where before I had them on my Desktop. I hope this helps others with the same problem also I used Horizon. Thanks for this tutorial!

I purchased all of the packages accept 1, I think if you have XP left and no packages left to purchase it may freeze up when you go into the XP purchase area. I hope this helps. Also they do the individual players in coaches mode as well. You can upgrade each player, and they all have seperate values. This is a pain. It's doing this original tutorial, but for every player.

If you write down the players xp that you want to adjust you can just hop around the editor and edit them all at once.

has anyone successfully modded the scouting XP in coach mode? how about individual players progression XP? I tried doing as others posted but didn't have the same values or line locations.

I am using a created coach (gameface, if it matters). I have successfully modded the Coach's XP, but haven't been able to change anything else. I've tried modding the scouting XP as well as an individual's progression XP and both times it freezes the xbox when loading the career. Any ideas?

I know that frost had the editor made and it worked pretty well except for the legacy and scouting xp as well.

One good thing about this game is you can just easily change the game sliders. I just wish they did the same on NBA 2k13.

noticed that everyone was having the same problem as I am having, and no one answered their questions. Is there anyone still helping out on this game or is this thread dead? I am having problems finding my exp, and my game save freezing once I do find it. My exp is 137, so what would be the hex value for that 00 00 89? Also I do not have the address in my hex workshop that you stated was where the xp was located. So if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok so I found the xp at line 231EE6 in the uncompressed 0000e054.dat, I believe it was byte 4 and 5. But we definitely need a new EA resigner.
