Like many other people, I am having Rune issues. First, it would mod them, and now they have vanished from the editor all together as an option. I would like to say thanks for the editor but i cant for the life of me get it to work at all. i can edit and save but when i load it it just freezes on the loading screen . I am using the dihautosave1 which is the only file i can open.

the editor some times puts out an error and then says "saved and rehashed"
I just redo the modding and then it doenst give any errors!

So any ideas on why i keep freezing after i have loaded the game . i have tried many different scnerios and nothing is working
i've tried just coins !
just one Bullet !

Yeah, when you first open up your save don't enter anything in the coins or runes part, just click cancel, then you can go into the editor tab and edit the coins and whatever else you want there, also when i clicked "max" for everything it froze my game so i just entered 9999 instead of clicking max and my game is working fine now :)

The only problem is that it always seems to mix up runes with the rewire tool, if you could fix that it would be perfect.
When opening the file it asks for current runes but it apparently looks up rewire tools instead, because it wouldn't work unless I entered the current number of rewire tools.

I figured out how to modify runes. In the save editor the runes and other item data are stored in entry 6. Extract it into the same folder as the save editor(or the editor cannot recognize it when you replace it).
Save the file as 6 and open it in a hex editor. You can find it as long as you have some unspent runes. Then search for your current money(to make finding runes easier). Record the address then search for your current number of runes. What your looking for is the closest match that comes after money(may take a few attempts).
I had 4 runes and did a search for 00000004. I found the runes at offset 0x0000149B and my money was at 0x00001272(the addresses will likely vary in your file), with 229 hex between them.

This is what the runes looked like in the file, shown between the data before and after it to possibly make finding them easier:
0100014C0000000400014D

I suggest only adding 22 runes to your current total, that way you have just enough to max out all your powers combined with the runes already in the game. The easiest time would probably be before you leave for the first real mission.

When your done save, then replace entry 6 with the save editor, and save.

Not everyone's entry's are the same as yours. Entry 6 could be entry 25 in someone's else's. Also Runes are not always after your money or in the same entry as your money. Also my editor does Rehash/Resign correctly. I'm not trying to bust your bubble but I have been working on this for the past weeks.

Kind of a pain to comb through all the entries one at a time just to find a match.
Guess I just got lucky that all the item data(item quantity,coins,runes) was in the same entry then.
Must be why you haven't been able to fix it yet.


The problem with rehash/resign must be on my end then, but for some reason horizon was always giving me an error when trying to inject the modified save(rehashed/resigned from editor), but the error didn't happen when I used the rehash/resign option from horizon after using the editor. It's not really that big a problem.

Thanks for this. Don't know why but my ammo and stuff reset to 0 twice. Truthfully though, for a Bethesda game, I was disappointed in this. Short, and seems like it was whipped together quickly. That's just me.

Alright, I've had time to test the editor and it appears that everything works fine except for the things mentioned before which are... runes cannot be set and more than 10 potions cannot be obtained even if you max it out in the editor you will end up with just 10.

OK...for those who have not been able to get runes to show up/work...I will elaborate on the process I used to get them to work...it may work for you...it may not..
So initially it didn't work for me on my first playthrough... I wasn't sure if it was searching for ALL runes or just the ones in my inventory....so I tried JHST inventoried runes...no dice....didn't try to add up the runes spent in my powers because I was halfway through...so on my new play through I had 275 coins and one rune when I attempted to mod and get 40 runes and 99999 coins...I ended up being able to mod the coins and not the runes....so I opened up the editor again typed in 99999 coins and 1 runes(I knew I only had one rune and the max coins because I loaded the save in game) ...so I went back to my PC and used THE SAME save I modded earlier and typed in 99999 and 1....then I modded runes to 25...saved....resigned n rehashed again in horizon just in case...I then modded runes to only 25...saved...then closed out the editer...reopened editer and typed my coins 99999 and 25 runes....sure shit...it saved that time...used horizon to r&r n send to USB...loaded up n used my runes...now I'm not saying this WILL work for everyone....but I know it worked for me...so try out the process and c what you come up w....to the author...thanks again for your great tool.... ...sadly I wish my previous message was read by other people so they wouldn't be hounding u for an unnecessary update....but as we both know ppl don't read or care to...they just want the end result...


EdIt!:so 25 runes was initially good for me....until I spent them....so for shits n giggles i wanted to try to add 25 more repeating my process on a save I did 30 min later...had 2 runes n 88374 gold...bumped em back to 25 n it worked perfectly.... so this mod tool works perfect for me every time....even let me get 99 sleep darts! I wish I had known this before. I tried putting the negative value of coins to re-edit them and the Editor tells me it can't put the arrays as they aren't long enough.

Piero's Spiritual Remedy and Sokolov's Elixir are fine there is nothing to fix. If you would spend some time reading the first post you will understand that the cap in game is 10. That's why if you put more it goes back to 10. Also I will add things to my editor when I'm ready to add them. I'm not trying to be mean but this thread could be half the size if some of you guys would spend some time reading current posts.

I tried to edit runes again with the save editor using a new character, just after getting the second rune and buying the third from Piero, during the chapter "High Overseer Campbell" but before talking to Havelock in the morning and getting on the boat and actually starting mission 2.

This time it actually worked on the first try, so it might need to be at that point if you want to edit number of runes without problems.

Thanks! Everything works great except my runes never change. Also if this helps anyone...I had to make 2 manual saves so when I open the game title to extract the save I see 2 auto saves and 2 manual saves and one listed as mission save. extract the one that is listed as Dishonored1 and enter in your coin and rune values, everything should work good from there although as I said before I can not get my runes to change at all.

******NOTE****** if you mod your coins to the max and pick up coins in game your value will go negitive and you will not be able to buy ANYTHING!!! Well, until you re-mod the value. I use nine 9's ( 999999999 ) due to the ability to have ten digits I left more than enough room!

It worked fine for me. I didn't over do it. I put everything , even coins, at 99999 instead of max and it all shows up perfectly in game and no problems.

Ok. I just started a new save (2nd play through) and went to edit my save (after reaching the pub) and got the following error when I entered my coins amount ( 845 ) :

"Destination array not long enough to copy all the items in the collection. Check array index and length"


What's that mean? It always does it after I enter coins amount and hit yes to confirm it.

What usb explorer are you using turns out i forgot to open horizon, but now i'm having an even bigger issue, after i mod the save and it says "saved and rehashed" i don't know how to return it to my usb! i watched a youtube vid tutorial but the guys going too fast for me to see what he's doing.. after modding a save how do you return it back to the usb modded??? seriously this sh!t is about to make me pull my hair out cause i'm soooooo close to finally getting it...

finally got it, as i wrote in another thread turns out i had to "inject" the modded save into usb somehow, but it worked so..

When you open the editor it asks how many you have, so just put how many you have and mod to your liking but dont get to crazy with it because it in the game you wont have the upgrade tab.

Thanks for this release! I know other people have had the same issue as me with the save crashing. I only want to edit my coin, so first I tried checking off max, but realized it had to be a lower number. I then tried 999999, didnt work, and then I tried 99999, still crashes. I apologize in advance if someone posted a fix for this on one of the pages of the thread, but I was wondering if you could edit my save for me, I just want max coin. tried posting this question somewhere else.. is it possible to mod the number of health and mana elixers? i can't get the number above 10, around 99 mana elixers would be like having infinite power usage so it'd be really interesting if this worked.. ammo, coin, and runes works like a boss just not elixers, perhaps i'm doing something wrong? :/

Great editor.
I had no problem in modding coins and other items,but i have tried several times modding the runes and even though i can edit them in the save editor,they dont appear on the game.
Example: I have 2 runes unspent on mission 2,i used that save and when promped to enter the number of runes in the editor,i chose 2,but the rune editing tab disappeared.
On the same save,instead of the number of runes i currently had,i used the total number of runes i collected so far(7) and the tab reappeared;i modded the 7 to 30,saved,resigned again on horizon,injected the file,played the game and i still had the 2 i had previously.
I have tried different approaches and methods and i cant get it 2 work.
Any advice?

ok. Evidently I am just stupid, but I can't get it to work at all. I have tried every save I have made. Auto, mission, and reg. and nothing is on the editor tab when I open it. I am probably not even going to get a response at all for this, but I can hope that someone will take pity on me.

Excellent Mod Tool. Love it, slight problem though, when I mod in runes my Upgrades screen where the Powers section is supposed to be goes completely missing. Like it never existed. Also I ran into a problem with modding the Ammo Capacities. Not saying they don't work, I loaded my game and they worked fine. The problem is when I switch to Sleep Bolts with my Crossbow and the ammo count is maxed and I go to shoot my game freezes on me. Is there an x variable some where that indicates the maximum amount of ammo in which your supposed to be able to hold so your not breaking the threshold on the game. It would help if we had more numbers with this editor so peoples games don't freeze.

I have no "rune" option when I open the editor.. Other then that, though, I love it.

There is, but it only appears when you have a certain amount of runes because the editor can't edit every value yet. Values that I'm certain the editor can
edit are: 0,5 and 7

i have a problem with it, I'm putting a save into it and it will not register the runes,everything else worked awesome but the runes dont register,they remain at 1 and the one time it did work the powers menu permanently disappeared. Any help?

I just picked up the game yesterday and I found Max Health, Run Speed, Reduced Fall Damage, Jump Height, Sword Swing Speed and Adrenaline Gained from Rats :P I am looking to see if I can get it to work on a new save, and I'll make a Starter Save for this game :D

Editor doesnt seem to work anymore after you lose all your gear late in the game. whenever i load it up, it never asks for Coin / Rune and only allows me to extract / replace entries ( what does this do anyway? )

Editing runes never seems to work. no matter what # i change it to, it stays the same as before i tried to change it.

You have to be an active member. Its showing that you are inactive. Post some messages in the community then you will be active and can download. It stops the leechers from just downloading stuff.
