Do Not Post This On Any Other Website Without My Permission

Updated to v1.5 at 11:40 PM EST on 12/05/2012 to support DLC2 and hopefully future DLC

Here is the README -

WWE13 Texture Tool v1.5 by Brien L. Johnson AKA brienj, President and Owner of XHP Creations

This file is only allowed to be hosted at 360Haven.com unless you give a link back. Posting this readme unedited with the download is sufficient enough. Requests to host elsewhere can be made to [email protected]

This program will allow you to connect to your Xbox 360 (xbdm plugin or devkit required) and change the paint tools in WWE13. The current version is made for the Title Update 1 patch. I have not verified if it works without the Title Update or not, sorry, I'm too lazy to bother testing yet.

Prerequisites:

You MUST have the Xbox 360 Software Development Kit AKA XDK installed on your computer.

Changelog:

v1.5 - Fixed compatibility with the new DLC that was released and made program "smarter" in finding paint tools in memory

v1.4 - Fixed some connection errors (connection always safely closed correctly now)

v1.3 - Reduced executable size, also maybe improved compatibility more

v1.2 - 64bit Windows Support

v1.1 - Improved Compatibility

v1.0 - Initial Release

To Do List:

Verify it works without the Title Update, and also try to support future Title Updates.

Use the code from this project to start on a trainer for the game.

Instructions:

Start the program, start WWE13 on your Xbox 360, and go to the paint tool editor in the game. While in the editor in the game, press the connect button on the program. You will either have the first paint tool logo show up in the program or get an error message. Hopefully you have your Xbox 360 setup properly and don't get an error message.

Once you verify the connection is working, select a slot number in the program that you wish to change (the paint tool slot must already contain a paint tool, the size doesn't matter), then click the Import button and select a properly formatted DDS file (8.8.8.8 ARGB | 32 bit unsigned, either 128 x 128 or 256 x 256) from your computer. The program will then transfer the texture to the Xbox's memory and the program will now show the texture in the program. This means the texture transferred successfully. Now you can add more to fill up every slot. When you are done importing textures, just hit the B button on the game, and the game will prompt you to save. Select yes and SAVE the paint tool in the game. If you do not save, the changes will not be permanent. After the paint tool saves, you can re-open it in the paint tool editor in the game and verify that all the thumbnails updated, and the paint tools saved correctly.

The program also supports exporting paint tools from the game. Just click on the Export button when you have the slot of the texture you want selected in the program, and the texture is present in the image viewer of the program.

That's all there is to it. If you have an Xbox 360 that doesn't support peeking or poking the memory from your computer, please don't waste my time telling me it doesn't work for you.

Woo! Brien is back! @ Arjun, Brien did say that the forums would never be opened again, but the site might be. Lets see what happens ;)

Cheers
EDIT: Just tried works great! Also, I have TU 1(the newest one), seems to work fine for me. But it's weird because many people are reporting that the texture hack doesn't work with the TU but for me it does. So IDK. Lets get someone else to try it out.

I find it hilarious how you claimed you weren't going to release any tools at all for '13 after those morons caused problems for the site.

then you do this.

glad you went back on your word, not so glad you killed peoples '11 editor forever ago after they donated for it. still bitter about that.

Thanks. But I cant get this tool to start. I get the "WWE texture tool has stopped working" error. I disable the antivirus and have also changed the compatibility to win xp sp2 but still no luck. I am on Vista btw. Any help?

The error is CLR20r3.

I said no tools for retail, I've kept saying I'd release a trainer type program, and this is the first of possibly more.

You can blame all the idiots that wanted to hack my old website for the SvR2011 Editor no longer working, and why would you even play that old game, when WWE12, and then WWE13 have kept getting better and better? I think I'd cry going back to playing SvR2011 after playing the last two games.

Edit: I am recompiling the program to be more compatible. If you still get errors after the update, I'd recommend running as an admin, under a different user account, or in a different folder on your HD. Once I finish and upload the update, let me know if it works for you.

well consider this me crying.. unless someone with patience can illustrate in a non" I'm smarter than you, you should figure it out yourself" manner how to add older models(if possible) to either wwe12 or 13? hell if someone shows me how, I will show everyone else how to take that pressure off you guys. at that rate we can get some movement in the community. I have waaay to much time on my hands and spent too much money to just sit around and not help.. I get how to do it on the ps2 but for some reason can't apply that logic to wwe 12 or 13 for the 360.

I am not a model guy. I know the basics of how models are constructed, but that's it. chrrox is the only person I know that can get a plug-in/converter for 3dsMax. Well, there are some other people, but once the word "WWE" comes out of your mouth, they ignore you ...

BTW, there will be an update coming for the program soon. I am going to package the assembly with all needed runtimes, this should reduce the risk of any errors running the program, but the size of the program will increase. Considering the size of HDs these days though, is there really much difference between a 4MB file and a 20MB file? Also, I have to update the instructions, because you do have to go into the edit screen and save your paint tool. It's like the hack last year unfortunately. Sure, it takes a little extra work to open each texture in the game editor and click save, but it's better than not having anything, right?

What the hell kind of theme is that? Are you running it on a Mac with the bootcamp or whatever it is called, because it won't ever work on that. Also, did you try running it as an admin, try running it on the desktop, try running it in the documents folder, and if none of those work, try running it as a different user, or turn of UAC in Windows 7.

So people know why the program may possibly need admin privileges, it's because the program accesses its dll files in a virtual environment, which relates to the application directory, as well as saves a physical temp.dds file in the same directory, which it uses to convert to a picture that the program can display in the picture box. So if you run it under an account that doesn't actually have access to the application directory, the program won't work.

Seeing that your message box is not showing the program icon, this may be an error that I read about, which describes a problem with showing the icon on older versions of Windows on the Windows Form, but I double checked and the maximum size of the icon is 64 x 64, so it SHOULDN'T be causing that error. I believe you said you had Windows 7, so not sure if that is the problem anyway, but it came up in my search for the possible problem, and the exception problem that could not be handled error that you have. By chance, looking at your theme, does your theme not show Windows Form icons? If so, pick another theme that actually shows them. ;)

Another problem I just thought about, is that you have to actually be logged in as some user on your Windows. You can not just be logged in as a guest, as the program would never work properly in that environment, because the guest account wouldn't have access to the AppData folder where it spawns the virtual environment executables. ;)

So just to double check, you can't do this with a un-modded retail console right?

Updated to v1.1 (Hotfix) at 12:10 AM EST on 11/30/2012

I think I may have finally found the problem with the Exception Error people are having. You can download the Hotfix and try it. To make sure you have the Hotfix, right click the exe file and select Properties. The version should say 1.1.0.1 instead of 1.1.0.0 on the Details tab. If you have the Hotfix and are still getting the Exception Error, I don't know what else to do, you're SOL I guess.

I get this error when i run from desktop as admin .
For that failure, it is usually a result of never having .NET 3.5 installed on your computer. You may have the newest .NET, which is 4.0, but you did not get to .NET 4.0 from updating, you never had .NET 3.5 ever installed. I have no idea why it would be giving that error though, considering my application only needs .NET 2.0 at the minimum, and it's now installed virtually in the program.

Try this, and let me know if it works. Uninstall all versions of .NET, remember which ones you have, and go to Microsoft to get the downloads to replace them all if you want. Then first thing first. Install THIS version of .NET 3.5 on your computer -
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

Don't worry, that is a download link direct from Microsoft, so it's clean. It's a version of .NET 3.5, and after installing it, then see if the program works. If so, I'll have to figure out why the hell the program is trying to get something from .NET 3.5 when it shouldn't be. Anyway, just let me know, and then if that works, you can go ahead and go to Windows Update and update your .NET through that, or find the .NET 4.0 download and install it.

It could also be your Anti-Virus program keeping it from working. I swear my own Anti-Virus will sometimes flag some of my builds, and I obviously know it's not infected, so I lower the amount of obfuscation some when compiling the program, which usually fixes the problem. But try disabling your Anti-Virus, or placing the program in an exception list.

Well, I've looked through all my code and there isn't really anything else I can try to fix it. Sorry, but I'm done trying to fix the problems people are having. Any future updates will just be adding features, if I can even think of any features to add, because the program does everything needed.

I'm not using bootcamp. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate with Placebo theme.

I'm still getting the same error even after Hotfix. It's really odd, as I've never had any problem with your old tools. I also tried it with another laptop with windows XP, but still with no luck.

Can anyone who has the tool running, post their OS specs? Maybe it could help.

The program doesn't actually connect to anything over the network until you hit the connect button, but by chance, are you sure the program isn't being blocked by a firewall or your anti-virus program isn't to blame? I'm sure the chances of each of your two computers having the same anti-virus and firewall settings is pretty slim, but that's always the first things to check. Also, I remember having problems in one of my earlier programs working with non-English versions of Windows. I don't remember what it was for, or how I fixed it though, and not even sure if that could be the cause, but a lot of people posting error screenshots are using non-English versions of Windows. Unless people can verify it works on some non-English version, I can't verify it will work, nor can I guarantee it will work. Also, make sure they are real versions of Windows, and not running in a virtual environment of some kind, as I can't guarantee that will work either.

Doesn't works for me 2 - Installed the newest MS .NET, using win 7 64BIT, strange ...
looks like you have to do something for all the failures.
Just wanted to see how it looks like cuz i couldn't use it (Don't got Devkit etc.)
But anyways nice work ^^

Not really, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, too bad. Considering you have problems with it too, it's looking like it's that issue with non-English versions of Windows, or it could be 64bit Windows, although I never had problems with 64bit Windows with any of my other programs that I compile the same way. I don't have to provide support for my tools though, or make them work for people that have issues. I'm not a company collecting money from customers and having to fix any problems you have. I'm just providing a free program for people to use, if it doesn't work, it's not my problem really.

Edit: Actually, I just found out the problem and it's related to people with 64bit Windows. I am going to try and fix it,

This kind of Error message is new for me too, dnt kno.
I don't think about the non-version of windows, it could has something to do with ur debugging settings.

How ever... You are the developer so its your choice if u wanna help or not!

v1.1 - Improved Compatibility

v1.0 - Initial Release

I forgot that one of my dll files had a 64bit version. I've made an execuatble for 64bit that contains the correct dll file in it. I can't guarantee it will work though, because I haven't had a chance to test on my laptop which has 64bit, however, when I run the 64bit version on my 32bit computer, it is giving the same exact error that people have been getting, so this is probably the problem. Hopefully someone with 64bit will test it before I get a chance to test it.

Updated to v1.3 at 9:30 PM EST on 12/01/2012

Changelog:

v1.3 - Reduced executable size, also maybe improved compatibility more

v1.2 - 64bit Windows Support

v1.1 - Improved Compatibility

v1.0 - Initial Release

Even if this newest update doesn't fix the 64bit problem, if there really is one, or any of the other problems it may be, this is at least a much smaller size version. I've optimized the code more and reduced the size of the executable by a good 1MB.

I am starting to think that the problem may be that you have to have the Xbox 360 SDK installed on your system for this to work. So if people could start posting what version of Windows they have AND if they have the Xbox 360 SDK installed on their system, this will help narrow down the problem people are having.

64-bit Windows 7, XDK is installed, tool works great! I've had it working since the initial release, so v1, v1.1, v1.2 AND v1.3 have all worked on my machine, it is the original, English version of windows.
Although, I'm having speed issues, a PT can take from 20-30 secs to transfer, if this depends on the internet speed then it's OK, but if it doesn't is it a bug anyone else is having. In the preview video, brien's PT transfered pretty fast.
EDIT: Eh brien, I'm not sure if this sounds weird or not, but 64-bit version crashes on my machine whereas the normal version works like a charm!

So you have the XDK installed? Well, this may be the problem, although I can neither confirm nor deny that my program has a certain dll file from the XDK, which I thought should be all that is really required. I didn't expect the whole XDK to be required. Oh well, if you say the newest 64bit version doesn't work, even on your 64bit system, but the 32bit works, then if I make another release I won't worry about making a 64bit version.

It may be slower for various reasons. Try freezing the Xbox and try again and see if it's quicker.

Could someone that can't get it to work try something for me? Try obtaining the xbdm.dll file from someone with the XDK and put it in the same directory and see if that makes it work. I am thinking that dll file may be a dependency, but it's the only one I think that possibly could be. So if someone could test, that would be cool.

There are 3 xbdm.dll files. There's a xbdm.dll folder, within that folder there are 3 folders, there is 1 xbdm present in each of those folders. The folder names are the following:

You said before that all the versions worked for you, so which is it? And is it only the newest version?

I don't get what you are talking about, having three folders. The XDK only has one folder with the xbdm.dll file, and it's in the "&XDK ROOT&\bin\win32" folder, where all the other PC tools are.

Update: It has been verified by DRAVEN, that after installing the XDK on a 64bit (probably applies to 32bit as well) version of Windows, the program now works. What's funny, is that the 64bit version I made doesn't work at all, but the 32bit one does. So installing the XDK seems to be required. I wish I knew how to avoid making people install the whole thing, but even using the xbdm.dll file isn't sufficient enough. A Google search for the XDK will come up with several downloads. ;)

I'm still expecting people to ask for someone to upload it for them, because god forbid they did some work on their own ...

I'll be updating the program README as well as uploading a newer version with better 360 connection handling. Sometimes you may get a connection error with the current version.

Good to hear Brien, but to download a 1.5gig piece of software that most people with either not use or not know what to use to get a 10mb program to work is kind of silly. I'm hoping this is more of a temporary thing and you find a solution soon. I mean I've already got it working, just looking out for some other guys with rather slow connections, thats all.

If you have your Xbox 360 setup to do all this, but don't have the XDK installed, you should have already got it installed ...

Why even have an Xbox that can debug and not the XDK?

Yeah! Why even have an xbox that can debug, well, I don't have a devkit, just a normal RGH running F3. What made you think I had a devkit? Also, I got the XDK a year ago(I forgot what I DL'd it for, but glad I kept it). So I'm good to go, it's just that some other people may need to download the XDK just to use your tool. It's like downloading the XDK just to take screen shots, you DL a huge file to do a simple task. That's all

I bet if someone took the time to test and just see which dll files from the XDK need to be placed in the same folder for it to work, then people wouldn't have to get the whole thing. I don't have time to uninstall it from my PC and then test every combination while I continue work on the trainer for WWE13, but maybe some nice person with free time on their hands could. Just take all the dll files from the XDK and put them somewhere on your computer, and then uninstall the XDK. Put all the dll files in the same directory of my program and see if it runs, if it does, then start taking dll files out of the folder, one by one, permanently getting rid of ones that are not needed to make the program work, and then keeping the ones that the program does need. Then when finished, write a list of all the dll files needed. If someone even did this much work, I could see about including the needed dll files embeded into my program. However, if the program doesn't work, even with all the dll files in the same folder, then the whole XDK is needed, and people will just have to install it. There are versions of it that are only 600-700MB in size. Nowadays, that's nothing, when you can download HD movies that are upwards of 40GB.

Plus, I never said you had a devkit. I was just stating the fact that if you have an Xbox with debug abilities (which you do, if the program works for you), you may as well install the XDK, so you can tap the full potential of the hardware you now have.

I could on saturday. Problem is that I don't .dll files I need to get. I mean do you need the .dll files from a certain folder or 100+ .dll files that are present in all of the directories the XDK folder? Do you just need the .dll that are in the \bin\win32 folder or literally ALL OF THE FKING DLLS?

Well, for people that can't get debug stuff working on their Xbox, or that don't want to install the XDK, just to use my tool, there is going to be a re-release of my WWE12 Texture Importer that has been updated to work with WWE13 and also a new updated hacked xex file for WWE13 to use with the program. Once I get it all finished, I will upload it and post a link in this thread.

Got a trouble shooting Q for you.

I got the Dev kit, installed it to my PC, I haven't ran anything with the program.

I got xdbm installed to my HDD drive USB1/xbdm.xex where my games folder is "NOT INSIDE the games folder".

I am directly linked between pc and xbox.

The tool works dev kit installed onto my W7.

I try to connect and it wont.

Is there a specific thing I am missing?

I am running my game through FSD3, but it appears that you are doing the same in your youtube vid.

Went to try this but got "JIT" error. Which I found strange considering I have the plugin on my RGH and SDK installed on my PC. This was the bottom of the error:

"To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled."

I'll see if restarting my computer does anything and moving the program around does.

Update: So, I deleted the old one, and extracted it directly to my documents, ran as administrator and it worked! I did put it in my documents last time, but moved it once it didnt work. Thanks so much for the tool, its so easy to use too :D

Also, does it fill in your Xbox IP automatically? It should if you have the XDK installed and a default Xbox in Xbox 360 Neighborhood. If not, make sure that is filled in correctly. I've noticed that sometimes the actual IP is needed, and the name you give your Xbox in Neighborhood isn't enough. Also, try running it in the Documents folder, or some folder that your account can control the files. The program doesn't directly use or access the folder, but it has virtual files it works with, that to the system, are in the same folder as the program, so if your user account can not have control of the files in the folder, folders like the Program Files directory, the program won't be able to access those virtual files and work. Try running as Admin, or simply put it in a folder you know has full access, like the Documents folder, or preferably, the Guest documents folder.

So I got around to trying this today and everything worked beautifully once I got things connected through Xbox Neighborhood. Works as promised and this is perfect for on the fly editing, although if I was just fixing already prepared saves for others, last year's way is a bit quicker. This is a great tool to try new things out though with real-time previews. I did notice that after importing 7 or so logos I have to restart the tool, at which point I can do exactly 7 more. :)

No, because those aren't videos until you encode them into Titantrons on the game, and THEN you could open that with my WWE CAW Editor, but the quality would be REALLY, REALLY horrible compared to what you could get by just using a capture card.
