"Dark Arisen" will feature over 25 new types of enemies within the underground realm of Bitterblack Isle, a new tier of skills for each character class and over 100 pieces of new equipment, including new high level weapons and armour. Players can also expect 14 new Pawn augments, new tiers of equipment enchantment and further options to customise your character.
Improvements have also been made to the gameplay, including easier travel and a more intuitive menu system. These improvements will be retrofitted to the original game for those who purchase "Dark Arisen". Owners of the original Dragon's Dogma will be able to carry over their save and will also be rewarded with 100,000 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones and the Gransys Armour Pack, which contains six new costumes.
"Dark Arisen" will be released on-disc on April 23th in North America for $39.99 and April 26th in Europe for £19.99/€29.99, with the digital version arriving on Games on Demand sometime in this Summer

I loved this game. I'm not a hardcore rpg fan, so I didn't nitpick it like some people did. Looking forward to this.

MY BODY IS READY.
No, seriously though, I'm playing the game through a third time because of this news. I've done a Magick Archer and Ranger thus far, now to do a Mystic Knight. Then maybe an Assassin just because I can. Super excited to see new enemies, though. MINOTAURS! More big enemies, PLEASE!

does anyone believe this "no hooks in the code" bullshit? i certainly didn't fall for it:

"We went round and round with the team on this topic as [releasing the Dark Arisen content as DLC] would have been a preferred option from our standpoint too," Svensson wrote, in response to a reader complaint. "As it turns out, I'm sorry but unfortunately there were major technical limitations that would couldn't allow for a digital upgrade path. The original game was just not designed to be expanded (no hooks in the original code) and so a full-game delivery mechanism was the only option."

Source: http://www.oxm.co.uk/49552/dragons-dogma-dark-arisen-content-will-not-be-sold-separately-as-dragons-dogma-dlc/

regardless of an obvious lie, i'm still gonna be getting dark arisen.

Yeah the "no hooks" is bollocks like but I still enjoyed DD. Money will be spent

The whole "no hooks" is just an excuse to charge more for an expansion that makes you buy the game again. Even though a story is almost non-existant in the game, and the random cutscenes don't really help, I still loved playing this game, especially as a sorcerer, gotta love raining down meteors or wiping out huge groups with a big ass tornado. Right now I'm still on the fence about getting this, before I spend almost $50 I'd like to know how much extra gameplay it actually adds, and haven't been able to find an amount, if it will add another 10-20 hours I'll definitely get it.

i'm guessing you arent in the u.s.? it's $39.99 in the u.s.

regardless you can just trade in vanilla/original dd for store credit and put that towards dark arisen to lower de price. either ways i think it worth it.
