According to Japanese blog Tale Tale Source (as translated by Andriasang), the upcoming issue of Weekly Shonen Jump includes an announcement of a new entry in Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball fighter series.

The game, which is (assumedly tentatively) titled Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011, is reported to focus on "3D fighting action," a blanket descriptor which could easily apply to the many Budokais which have come before it.

The blog also mentions that the magazine lists Dragon Ball Game Project Age 2011 for a Fall 2011 release in Japan on Xbox 360 and PS3. We'll keep an ear to the ground for any news about the title and its American launch plans. Considering how loud those Dragon Ball guys yell, we don't think it's going to be too hard to hear.

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 was terrible because they took out the Story Mode. But Graphics and Gameplay wise it was amazing.

Not another one!

Normally, I'd be all for a Dragonball, Dragonball Z/GT fighting game, but there hasn't been a good one since Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. And that game, in my opinion, was the pinnacle and the best of the Dragonball fighting games.

I truly hope they do something big with this new installment that will TOP DBZ BT 3 and perhaps blow it out of the water, otherwise I wouldn't consider it a purchase.

Hopefully they will show us something new and different this time and add even more characters than DBZ BT 3.

I Would love seeing some new Effects in a DBZ Game, like if you Power Up or Turn into a SSJ1-4 the ground should break up or if your on the surface of water it should create big waves. Make it more like the Anime Series.

Not to mention that i'm still waiting on a Bleach Game for Xbox360 that's like Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 3 Gameplay Wise with Naruto Shippuuden: Ninja Storm 2 Campaign wise.

Hopefully another Budokai Tenkaichi game, I wasnt a big fan of the raging blast games. With any luck they will vary the story mode (if it has one), every DBZ game I've played just plays out the same story time and time again. As much as I loved the anime series (I have every episode in my DVD collection), I think its time they did something new

Now THAT would be cool to see.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I loved the Budokai Tenkaichi games. Raging Blast was bleh and Burst Limit, well... Don't get me started on that one, heh.

I hope they surprise us with the next game, otherwise it's just another boring rehash. (Still love the anime and the older games, though.)

That was the problem with the last Budokai Tenkaichi game, it was nigh on identical the one before albeit with a couple of extra characters. The levels were even the same.

Time for something new and improved, new levels, new characters and a completely rewritten story mode to sink our teeth into.

Saying that, I'll only end up getting it regardless though, I'm too much of a fan lol

I loved all the Budokai, Tenkaichis great too, then I played Burst Limit. I was so let down and the Raging Blast came out and I was a little bit more happy with it, but still felt it was missing something. Raging Blast 2 was a lot better. I liked how it had just about every classic battle, but was kind of sad the story was gone, even though it's been the same store as all the others. What I really want to see in this one is a different way to get the dragon balls. Finding them in the levels is cool, but it's hard to look for them and best the opponent at the same time. I like how Tenkachi 3 way with the over world map I'd love to see that back again. Also I'd love it if this new one went through GT again.

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi. It's gonna play like a cross between Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai; most of the gameplay looks identical to Tenkaichi 3, but there are also portions of a fight that turn side view a la Budokai, as well as struggles and Ultimate Moves being decided via GTE and/or button mash (also Budokai). The environment is going to be largely destructible and beam struggles will be on a very large scale and will actually look like the struggles from the anime.Giant characters will be included, but so far only as bosses. Japan's release date is set to November 1, US is set to October 25, and Europe is set to October 28.

Also I'd love it if this new one went through GT again.
It's confirmed (at least through the wiki) that GT characters will be in the game. If the game has a story mode (it damn well better!) we'll probably see the GT story as well. What I really hope they do is handle the characters like they did in Budokai 3. There was one Goku, one Vegeta, one Adult Gohan, etc. The story can handle the differences in timelines for each character via custom move sets (a la the Budokai and Raging Blast games); we don't need a separate Vegeta with a scouter, or a separate Vegeta for Majin Vegeta. The differences between the forms can be handled via items and transformations (Scouter is item, Majin is transformation). And for the love of God, if you include SSj3 Vegeta, make him a transformation and NOT a separate character! (The amount of Gokus in Tenkaichi 3 were ridiculous...)

I agree with this there is absolutely no point in multiples of one person. Why have Goku, Super Saiyan Goku, SSJ2 Goku, SSJ3 Goku, when you can just have Goku and have him power up and transform. Also in the last few games I miss the fusions. I don't remember which it was (I think Tenkaichi 2) that had the funny fusion like Gocule, I miss those too.

The only thing that's worrying me now is that the wiki says they have confirmed that there will be some GT characters, but nothing about anyone from the Buu saga. I really want a Dragon Ball game to go through everything and have all characters, but that may be asking too much.

does the fact that there is at character editor? So looks like the white one already made? can one create his own character or honest goku and co change that?
