For me i would have to say one of the most Disappointing was Devil May Cry.....While still enjoyable and the Gameplay is just as Equally awesome. The Story...And how they made dante was just....Off.
Don't even get me started on the White Hair Wig scene at the Carnival.

I would say for me Rage. I guess I was hoping for a game similar to Fallout 3 but it was very linear and had no story. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed aspects of the game just was not what I was expecting.

Agreed, Rage felt a bit like a game that just was not yet ready....They should have worked on it a bit more before finally releasing it.

I'm gonna say at least 1/3 of games, they are all over hyped.

The entire call of duty series (after world at war).
They've never got bet, only worst and I'm glad I no longer play it.

So many games turn out disappointing, falling short of what they promise. Over the last few years I've found most games to be entertaining at times, but otherwise forgettable and overhyped. The industry is all about money now, and less about the games, the games are being dumbed down in some cases to make them appeal to the biggest possible audience, xbl is flooded with overpriced day one dlc. Just look at the new GOW, the first day when I checked the add-ons it was a wall of weapon and armor skins, most selling for 240 points or more. I was impressed with tomb raider though, not a ton of replay value, but a well made game, there are a few newer games I haven't tried yet, but overall most games these days are about quantity over quality.

Really DMC? I had a blast with it. Star Wars the Force Unleashed felt more like and expansion pack

While I'm sure there's probably a lot in the past I just can't think of at the moment, I believe in most recent memory it would have to be Aliens: Colonial Marines.. I was very interested in that game (Seeing the demo footage that ended up not being actual game play), and it was a huge let down when it released. I would say Judgement to some extent as well, but honestly my expectations of it were lowered a bit when I learned People Can Fly was taking over development. While I still beat it and enjoyed my time playing, it was my least favorite in the series thus far.

To me the most disappointing game ever created is Xcite Bike. Don't get me wrong, I love Xcite Bike but I just wish they made more levels.

Games in general have got very stale, I probably only buy to main titles now and that the Gears of War Series and the WWE games (for modding) apart from that I can't just spending £40.00 on a game that's not going to have any replay value.

The most disappointing game would have to be Duke Nukem Forever.

Very true, it's hard to justify buying most games that are coming out, most feel like the same shit recycled and reskinned with one or two small changes. I find it hard to even decide which ones to buy these days, it's a pain having to rent them first to decide because it just ends up costing even more to buy it, but after so many disappointments it's really the only choice.

Hmmm. I'm gonna assume you mean "in all video game history" in which case I'll say ET. I mean, there was this huge hype about it, and then... well... we've all heard the stories about the New Mexico desert burials.

As for my personal disappointments, I'd have to say the biggest one was Final Fantasy XIII. I hadn't played a FF game since FFX, and was really looking forward to revisiting the series. That said, I took it back after the first hour of gameplay; I hated it. I traded it in and got Blue Dragon, which provided a whole lot more enjoyment.

Aliens: Colonial Marines, considering my love for the franchise and after seeing the demo I was eagerly expecting the game...had I rushed to the store without looking at reviews first I would waste my money on a game that basically turned out to be a fraud. What a waste

For me. Final Fantasy XIII-2, i loved the first one, the seconde was suppose to be better. Square did fix the bugs and made the battel system a lot better, but they took what made the first interesting and scrapped it in XIII-2.

I know i'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this but... imo the absolute MOST disappointing game i've played this year is Bioshock: Infinite, i had been waiting on this game for years, was soooooo excited about it, literally the ONLY game i've ever refrained from watching youtube footage on so not to spoil it for myself, then i played it and found it was nothing but a series of babysitting missions with some chic whom you had to rely on for EVERYTHING! no health kits, no eve "salt" vials, you don't get diddly dick unless she spoon feeds it to you! that is some cheap ass, bitch ass, dumb ass BS!!! its like these asshat devs decided to take every last cool thing that made the bioshock series fun to play and said "no, we're just gonna annoy the piss out of the player this time" i mean wtf were they thinking!? i know there are a lot of people out there whom for reasons i can't understand nor comprehend actually "loved" this game but from what i played it was the biggest let down of any game i have ever played. i actually returned it without even finishing it! it was that bad!
