Dishonored is a pretty good game and can be had at a reasonable price. Red Dead Redemption is another one if you are into that type of game.

Whats The Main Plot
You play Yuri Lowell, a poor ex-knight living at an inn. It starts off like any JRPG: you get arrested for breaking into the house of a thief who stole something of yours (turns out is also supposed to be a noble), as you're breaking out of jail you meet a girl who wants to escape her life as a noble, and you venture across the land looking for the thief. Keep in mind that this is all the first hour or so of a 70+ hour game.
It isn't the plot itself that's amazing. I mean, don't get me wrong, the plot is great, but I keep getting the feeling that I've seen it all before. No, what makes the game great is the writing (wonderful dialogue), the voice acting (best English VA I've ever heard period), the art style and smooth graphics (looks like you're watching an anime), and the battle system (one of the best I've ever played).
Not only that, but there is so much to do. It's all open world (which is rare these days), so there are a LOT of sidequests. Remember how I said 70+ hours? That's a single playthrough. I've logged over 300 hours and I still haven't seen anything yet! The game gives you a lot of incentive to play through multiple times. There's a secret ending, a new game plus (with optional ng+ dungeon), and each ng+ gives you the option to add special conditions to make the next play more/less difficult. There is just so much stuff to do.
One of the great things about the Tales games is that they're handled a lot like the Final Fantasy games: it doesn't matter if you've played one of the earlier ones or not, because they aren't connected at all (they don't even take place in the same world). That said, Tales of Vesperia will spoil you if you plan to go back and play some of the older titles; I hated Symphonia because I played Vesperia first.
The only thing I don't like about Vesperia is that the PS3 version has about twice the content and was only released in Japan. No expansion packs or anything, and the DLC is all stuff that you can get with regular play. Still, if you like RPGs at all, you can't pass up Tales of Vesperia. I've played a lot of RPGs in my times, and none of them hold a candle.

Yes. It was even made by the same people. It's much better than it sounds. Red Dead is one of my favorite games, not just on the 360, but period. The multiplayer is fun too, if you have friends to play with. And the expansion is hilarious!

i love Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Legendia etc.(basically all the ones that came out before vesperia), i love every Tales game lol, but i did play all those before Tales of Vesperia came out lol, but i agree with all your points on Tales of Vesperia except for the part that its the best rpg, on 360 yes but on ps3 Tales of Graces F just as great if not better IMO, Tales of Xillia which is coming out is said to be even better then Graces F so i cant wait to play it when it comes out :D, also i bought the ps3 version of Tales of Vesperia its awesome but sucks since i dont understand japanese at all lol but that wasnt going to stop me from playing it ;)
Edit: @OP i agree with Emerald you should get Tales of Vesperia :), also some other jrpgs that you should check out are Lost Odyssey, Magna Carta 2, Star Ocean the last hope, the Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery, all are great jrpgs :D

I second all of this. Well, I didn't really like Last Remnant, and I never got to play Infinite Undiscovery. But lost Odyssey is amazing, the whole Magna Carta series is amazing, the whole Star Ocean series is amazing. I'd also like to add a few more.
Blue Dragon. Think SNES-era JRPG, but with modern HD graphics. It reminds me a LOT of the original Breath of Fire (in a good way). If you played JRPGs on the Super Nintendo and miss that old school feeling, this is definitely the game for you. My only issue with it is that it can sometimes feel a little -TOO- old school; the story can be sort of straight forward and problems tend to be resolved quickly. Still, a myriad of 16-bit awesome in modern 3D.
Enchanted Arms. It's basically Pokémon if Pokémon were a tactical console game in HD. A little on the short side and with little replay value, but provides a great first run.
Eternal Sonata. Straight JRPG in a fantastical world. With today's video game industry putting so much importance into realistic HD graphics, colorful and fairytale-like settings like what's sported in Eternal Sonata are getting rarer and rarer. The game story is experienced in a very rare (and extremely well done) second-person/third-person mix. You play as Allegretto, but the main character is somebody else entirely, and you move through the world in his dream. Not only that, but I adore Chopin, and that a freaking video game was made about him is just too romantic to pass up; without ruining it, the story turns out to be a big downer towards the end, and that only serves to add to the intense feelings that Chopin's music provides. All in all, definitely a game to pick up.
Resonance of Fate. This one is a bit different. No swords or magic, no special items that give special powers, no chosen ones. Your "attack" is a gun, your "black magic" is grenades, and your "white magic" is first aid kits. As unique as it is, it gets a lot of flack for using guns as the main weapons. It's also extremely difficult (I've beaten Dark Souls three times and I haven't beaten this game yet). If you can get past the use of guns and the ridiculous difficulty, you will love this game. The writing is well done, the voices are better than most, and the characters have pretty decent back stories.
