do know i didn't use modmii to softmod my wii i just use some wiki documents and a lot of guessing lol(actually it was really easy since i used the smashstack method which was a piece of cake for me)

Modmii is the way to go. I also recommend setting up bootmii so that it starts up as soon as you power on the Wii; this helps to keep your Wii from getting bricked (it isn't a guarantee, but it helps). Make sure you install the Homebrew Channel once you've got your Wii modded, or else you'll have to go through modmii all over again.
