Does anybody even know what the thanks button is for anymore as nobody seems to use it at all. almost every post that has any editor almost always has pages upon pages of comments just saying thanks.
for those that don't use it, start using it please.

Well, that's what it's for: for people to click a button instead of posting what's essentially spam. Even still though, it's used pretty often. You also gotta remember that there's a "Like" button too, and some people prefer to use that instead, which is also fine (though I don't think it does anything for your reputation).

nope nothing wrong with that, the difference between the two, is the "Thanks" button gives rep and adds to your rep, while the "Like" buttons does not(at least im pretty sure that is how they work lol) but yeah it does not matter if you want to use both or just one

Well i use the thanks and like button on anyone it helps them be a bit more confident and i guess happy if you will we all should start doing it to the new members just to show some encouragement so they will post more and hopefully use the thanks and like function on other members in the future i still think locking the content in a post then thanking or liking that post will then unlock that content to download or even having to post would also be a good idea :048:

you also have the give reputation button (the 6 pointed star sybol) but you can only give thanks or give reputation to one person per post (i think its per post at least), but with everyone always typing thanks the original poster or whoever they don't get any extra reputation points or anything and it gets anoying going through pages of thanks.

I think it is for say "Thank you" for someone hard work, and not spam comments like a "Thanks for tool".
