Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions is one of the 3DS' "launch window" games. Slated for release on July 26th, this is a collection of games from the Pac-Man and Galaga franchises, covering as far back as the original Pac-Man and Galaga to all-new games in the series.
What's Old
This is a game collection, and the majority of it is nothing you haven't seen before. Included are the classic Galaga and Pac-Man games, just as they appeared in their original Atari iterations. Also included, but now new, are the more recent entries in the respective franchises, Pac-Man Championship Edition and Galaga Legions. What's New
Pac-Man Tilt! and Galaga 3D Impact are new takes on the classic franchises. In Tilt, you control Pac-Man in a side-scrolling adventure, tilting the 3DS so that he gains speed and tears through the levels. It's an interesting test of one of the system's functions that almost no developers have made use of so far.
Galaga 3D Impact is an on-rails shooter. It makes the most use of the 3D functionality, with enemies popping out as they fly past and parts of the heads-up display appearing farther away to provide depth. It also uses gyroscopes inside the system, allowing you to aim your turret by physically aiming the 3DS around the room, similar to the included game Face Raiders.
