I have never bought a Sony product in my life, and I will never buy one in the future. Maybe people will start to wake up to what a horrible company they really are ...

For somebody who has sucky security, they sure did last a long time. If I recall correctly, the PS3 took longer to successfully hack than most other systems combined.
Of course, I WILL admit that a console that is too difficult to hack is one that I won't plan on buying soon. Let's hope the 3DS gets a good flash card soon.

But the problem is, once they are hacked, they don't know how to fix it. And they are proving it left and right. Microsoft at least knows how to properly patch things when exploited. Also, Sony will just start removing things, like the Other OS, backwards compatibility, etc. from their console, so people that buy their products get everything they deserve and more.

People People, Sony is an Hardware Company which cannot be compared with Microsoft. The fact is, any system can be hack and any networked can be hacked with a very determined group or individual. Sony was just unlucky. Sony out source there security / software development while Microsoft has an in house developers. Shouldn't we be blaming the hackings who think they can't put justice in there own hands?

And exactly why Microsoft is the superior company, thanks for pointing that out, but I don't condemn any of the hackers, as this one was a LONG time coming ...
When you screw people over for long enough, this is the result. Sony is NOT innocent. I know from experience.

I think Sony has asked for it by singling out and attacking users instead of fixing their own mistakes. That's why Microsoft hasn't fell (as hard) yet because instead of attacking they just resolve their problems. Who's really to blame; the company who continuously makes their own faulty software/hardware and is unable to fix it and at the risk of millions of people's identity and information being compromised, or the people who are just simply pointing out the obvious? I think we know the answer is simple... I'm not saying that I completely condone all of it but it's at least good to know that there are people willing to do what it takes to let it be known that something as big as Sony isn't as safe as they should be. It's not just Sony's business and reputation at stake, the more important is the fact that the every day consumers are also in jeopardy solely because Sony fails to do their homework.

Microsoft is superior on software basis because they are software development team. But you can't compare Sony's hardware to Microsofts hardware.

Even tough you said you've never bought one of their products, chances are you bought one without even knowing. I'm not saying you're wrong or anything.
But yeah sony deserves that and more, Hopefully that'll send a message to m$.

You have to think too, why are Sony being attacked, and not Microsoft or Nintendo or Sega or any other company like them? Sony has brought this all upon themselves with their practices. Maybe this will wake them up, if it doesn't, then I don't see the attacks stopping, and I don't see them recovering, and maybe it will finally be the end of them for good. If it is, I say good riddance.

That's just one of the many things that I would never, ever purchase, and I will just wait until the next HD optical system to come out. I understand that Sony produces micro-chips that may be contained within some products, and I can't open every single item I buy, and make sure that every single component inside is not a Sony chip, but I will not buy anything with the Sony name on it, nor will I buy anything that is owned by Sony. However, before I buy a cell phone, TV, or any other big electronic purchase, I always make sure it is completely Sony free. I have done this for many years, and I will continue to do so until I die.

Exactly. When the PS3 was first announced, they said that they were going to allow Homebrew/etc. and other things that other console's didn't (without hacking). But when they back-track and then try to do away with the flexibility and things that are probably the main reason that most people purchased it for in the first place it's sure to piss a lot of people off. Personally, that would have been the reason I would have purchased a PS3 (and also because it used to be cheaper to buy a PS3 rather than a home Blu-Ray player), but now those chances are slim to none.
And I have never purchased a Blu-Ray disc, I see no point, regular DVD is fine with me and for the price it's more ideal.

It was hard for all those years to hold back my laughter when people would say how PSN was better because it was FREE. OMG, it's FREE, so it's better. Nothing in life that is free is better. :rolf:
Microsoft charges for XBL for a reason. It's not to fuck people over, it's to ensure that your information is kept private, that you have a safe environment to play on, and to provide you with a great gaming experience. Sony on the other hand is the real company that doesn't give a rat's ass about you.

That is exactly what I tell people every time i get into an argument with a PS3 fanboy, and all of them always fall back to how much better the graphics are but my uncle has a PS3 and i've seen him play black ops on it and it looked horrible compared to the 360.

The only games that are better then the xbox 360 games are the exclusives on the ps3 i own both and i only played my ps3 like 5 times and i downloaded killzone 2 and uncharted 2 and they are really excellent games the only reason i got a ps3 is because i grew up playing the ps1 and ps2 and i noticed they are giving out good exclusives and i was going to jailbreak my ps3 but i updated it like an idiot lol overrall the xbox360 is better but for some games on the ps3 the xbox 360 can not be compared to

You have to understand. Hackers were not interested in it. It wasn't hacked because the hackers had what they wanted, linux. The time the hackers started on it was around the time Sony removed OtherOS. If you count from that time, to the time it was hacked it was only 6 months. As opposed to the 12 Xbox 360 lasted. The PS3, at first glance, looked secure. That is why people said it was the most secure. But with minimal inspection of the console to everyone's surprise you could recover the private keys with a simple math equation because it was improper implementation of cryptographic algorithms. It was a mixture of incompetence and pissed off linux users that lead to Sonys demise.

You'll notice too, that with all these "attacks" that they are just showing Sony to be a joke and they don't actually steal anything, even though they could. Just remember that. Sony is lucky that they are just being embarrassed by all of this, it could be way worse than it is.

The humiliation of Sony's security is proof that the online world is still very much like the Wild West. If you anger one person enough, you may need protection; but if you anger the masses (http://www.dailytech.com/Anonymous+Engages+in+Sony+DDoS+Attacks+Over+GeoHot +PS3+Lawsuit/article21282.htm), half-baked protection outfits may not be good enoughThanks to the "hackers" we now know how bad PSN was. I will never trust SONY again.
I feel bad for the customers.
The good news is... Final Fantasy Versus XIII No Longer PS3 Only.
Yoichi Wada has clarified his statements regarding the possiblility of a 360 release of FFvXIII via his Twitter (http://twitter.com/yoichiw) account.

He said it was possible, but it is not confirmed if it will go to 360. They brought this up with FF13 when they said they barely got the game on 3 discs while not cutting anything out of it.
Square-Enix does not have a problem with multiple discs, but they also don't want to have TOO many. They do not want to cut content. From what I have seen the PS3 version of Versus could well barely fit on the disc.
They always want both versions to be equal. It just comes down to if it will work out or not. One thing Microsoft needs to do is have bigger sized DVDs for the 360. Square already said they do not want to cut content because they want to be fair.
Versus would sell alright on 360, but they need to look at the very best way to get there because they refuse to cut anything out

You do have a good point there. What I see happening is SONY shutting down their game division and sticking to multimedia. I think moviebob said it best when describing how the current generation of gaming is in trouble in Game OverThinker v11:
"And then the final variable. SONY and Microsoft, two thirds of the total game companies, aren't even really game companies. They're massive multinational corporate empires with comparatively small video game divisions. Meaning that, if what I just described were to happen (and it will) they'd have no good financial reason to try and keep those divisions around the MINUTE they become prohibitively unprofitable." (I love that guy...)

Huh. I had no idea. I had always figured it was being attempted from the get-go. Show's how far out of the loop I am...
Yea, Sony really screwed up =/ But OMG if that's true about Final Fantasy Versus XIII maybe being released on 360 that WILL be amazing!

I love my xbox and I would never go with another system when it cones to online gaming, HOWEVER Sony is not a bad company. They are very successful. If someone asked me which system they should buy I would tell them an xbox and give them my reasons why. But Sony is not a bad company. Yes they have not done a good job with their security and it has taken them quite some time to get their servers back up and running but as a Company Sony has done very well. This is a big shot to them and it will hurt for a while but hopefully they learn and continue doing what they do best.
