help needed for edditing saves

ok ive seen all the save editors but were my problem lies is with getting those edited saves to work i found a program to read the files on my hard drive and put them back on but they aways come up as coped files . so if some one can explain what im doing wrong?FYI im not using a modded 360

Step 1. get your file from your hdd,usb stick or memory unit with modio or xplorer360 or xport360.
Step 2. edit your save with hex editor or a save edtior.
Step 3. if the save editor doesn't rehash automatically, then use con manager,concept or modio to rehash the edited/modded save.
step 4. put the edited/modded save on your hdd/mu or usb stick.
step 5. ... the end.
