lol i found it easier to just put your item you are modding along with another item in the player inv. then in hex workshop copy the 5 bytes for an affix id, delete them from old item and reinsert it on the new item. i even posted it about a week ago just nobody listened or even tried it.
That is the way I do it now, but you still have to fix the Byte Counts if you do it that way...

Can these modded items make it online. If so if I can get a few I dont have I can throw some paypal your way.
Yes they can go online but why would you pay for them when you can make your own?

For now I'll leave my old method I did for adding Effects.
1. Find the weapon you want to mod in Hex Workshop
2. move all but ONE byte from the Minimum Durability to the Maximum Durability
3. Change the Minimum Durability to 7F and change the Maximum Durability to FFFF7F
4. Load up save in-game and repair the weapon
5. Save and Quit
6. Open save back into Hex Workshop and you will see that you have more bytes to move from Min to Max Durability
7. Repeat Steps 2-6 until you have 5 bytes for Min and Max Durability (Highest it can go)
8. Remove 4 bytes from Min Durability and 1 byte from Max Durability (5 Bytes = 1 new Effect you can add)
9. Add a new Effect
10. Load save in-game and repair weapon, Save and Quit
11. Load save into Hex Workshop and move 1 byte from Min to Max
12. Load save in-game, repair, Save and Quit
13. Load save into Hex Workshop
14. Repeat steps 8-13 (32 Effects on an item is the MAX you can have)
Will this work for making a characters name longer?

okay i wasn't going to post anything in this thread, but after viewing the recent posts in this thread, i felt the need to post this, it seems that this thread was getting pretty heated, it hasn't gone over the edge yet but none the less am posting this to tell everyone to calm down and to realize that everyone is different, just cause some one shares stuff or help's people doesn't mean somebody else will do the same, its their choice whether or not they choose to do it, no need to be angry with the person over a game because at the end of the day that's all this is a game, so i am posting this as a warning, if this escalates any further action will be taken, thank you for reading this and hope you all continue to enjoy your time here on 360haven and have fun modding this game

Once I made an item with 32 effects, I save it as a backup 'template' gamesave. By that I mean, if I have an item I want 32 effects on, I jack the ID of the item (say, infernal helm), paste it over the ID of the item I upped to 32 effects (in a copy of the backup), and then I have a helmet with 32 effects and +25% bonus exp.
Easier than doing it every time for each item.
You can make an almost +100% fire skill damage glove, too bad +% skill effects are such a small gain. Lost the +% cold value though, accidentally overwrote my winter's flurry.
7AC0F56D - Magefist
18CDF13D - + fire skill % (only works on Magefist)

Will you be releasing how to change item names or keeping that to yourself to ID your work?
I've looked at the black prize and white prize, but can't tell what was done to change the name.

Many thanks Idlehands88 :) Your information was just enough to get me going as a HEX editing N00b and have edited a couple of items of mine with 100% success.
For fellow n00bs out there I have found the best process is as follows:
1. On a new profile (Mine is called Mod) create D3 characters with names the represent a particular piece of inventory (e.g. WizardHead, WizardChest, etc).
2. With your main character craft the best item in each item category that is tradeable.
3. Load up each character on the new profile, 1 at a time, drop the relevant item and pick it up as the relevant new character (e.g. WizardHead, WizardChest, etc) ensure that they only have this item intheir inventory.
4. Close down the game once all items have been transferred.
5. Open up the save game in horizon which contains the (e.g. WizardHead, WizardChest, etc) characters and extract the .dat files from the heroes section to a folder on your hard drive.
6. Use the decrypt tool to decrypt each save.
7. Pick a save and open it using a HEX editor, a use HxD.
8. Locate the relevant section of code and begin hex editing (as only one item in inventory I find the code easier to work with).
9. Save the file.
10. Encrypt the .dat file using the tool.
11. Transfer the .dat file into the relevant save using your preferred modding tool (I use horizon) and rehash and save.
12. Transfer the save onto a USB stick and rehash and save.
13. Fire up diablo and walla! Your new modded item will appear in the character's directory ready to be handed back to the main character!
This may be a bit long winded for some of the experts on there but works great for me! (See below for a helm done this way!)

May I ask how do you fix the byte count by doing that?
The byte count dont change so theres nothing to fix. You are simply taking the affix id from one item deleting the bytes off that item then inserting them on the other item.

LOL that doesn't work unless you fix the Byte Counts. There are 2 byte counts for EACH item. So if you do it the way you are saying, then you'll have 4 Byte Counts to fix.

I've been thinking so hard, why the heck these modded items have crazy durability levels.
Especially when Ignore durability loss uses just one affix.
...haha.
I'm going to see if I can get the durability levels down when I'm done adding affixes.
(Probably not as special bt...)
I've found the dye id's, or at least the ones I could buy.

Finally read the thread, it was like a fucking soap opera with these adding of bytes lol. People just need to realize that the amount of information already released is good enough for a tutorial. The fact that Idle actually edited the thread with a method to add bytes is proof enough to his commitment to the community. I would have never found the correct hexidecimal values to edit with out this tutorial, thanks a lot dude.

Method #2, deleting an affix off one piece of equipment and adding an affix to another.
I get that you would still need to balance the byte count like you said... But, how?
It should make sense to me but for some reason it just isn't sinking in.
The durability trick works, but I would prefer the items I create to not have 100,000,00++ dura

Why would you need a goblin since you are now able create your own item? I am more interesting about changing set bonus. For example, wearing full IK set would allow you to maintain WOTB permanently.
Anyway, I just created a Tal set, I am really happy that all the affixes are nearly perfect.

All this information is great!
But I am having trouble figuring out what line means what when trying to find items to mod inside of Hex Workshop. I guess I just don't understand any of the numbers.
Does anyone know where I could find a thread on how to read and edit the Hex coding?

I have a quick question. the ID: BE DF 59 91 on Gloves (Immortal Kings Glove in my case) seem to give me both Intellect and Vitality as stats (cant recall what the exact numbers atm). I tried adding attack speed on the gloves in that area and took away both the intellect and vitality. While I was trying to get rid of either the Intellect or the Life Per Second (unknown id to me atm) i did not mean to get rid of the vitality... thus my question: Would I be able to add a new effect ID like attack speed since my Immortal Kings initially had 7 attributes(Strength, Intellect, Vitality, CritDmg, Crit%. LPS, -4%Dmg from Elites(or melee cant remember)), or would that add extra bytes and possibly corrupt my file?

I have a quick question about Idle's discription on how to add bytes on page one. I am using Hex workshop and when i try and move the bytes my save gets corrupted. I have been deleting a byte from the min durability so that it looks like 38 XX and i add the byte to the max and change it so it looks like 60 XX XX 00. I then change the minimum to 38 7F and the Max to 60 FF FF 7F but it always is corrupted when i try and load it up. Can someone please point out to me what I'm doing wrong and the correct way to do this? I know its probably something simple but i can't figure it out.

The line you removed most likely contained str + vit. There is a affix that adds str, dex, int and vit all on 1 line.

After you have decrypted the file to edit. You use the Search feature on whatever hex editor you are using. Look for 07 08 04 That is the start of each item. Following that you will see a line like this 15 DD F9 E8 6B 15 is the start of the item id. This is what you would change to make say a mempo helm into andarials helm. To do that either have the helm in the inventory or look and see if someone posted the item id for it. Directly after the item id you will find the effect ids such as 1D 3A BD 5D 0C each effect starts with 1d, so the 4 groups of 2 bytes following 1d is a effect. Again to edit this you will need to have a list of effects people have posted or compare your own items. It keeps going just follow the first post.

all of this is way to complicated for my brain haha..hopefully they will make an easy to use tool or at least a video on how to do it that would make it easy theres a few things i wanna mod in such as hell fire rings and other thing like crafting materials but idk how

It's great to see that people are starting to mod their gear this high. I managed to get 971k last week, then was challenged by a friend to get that above 1m. So my next two that I made were 1.6m and 2.1m. It's honestly not that hard to make these changes you just have to know what stats to use and such.
I have started a Database with a few friends and I think we are in the upwards of like 200ish IDs so far.

Can someone please post a pic of their hero file before and after they make the changes to an items durability. Preferably before they load up their game to repair the item to add the extra byte. I keep trying to add bytes but my save always corrupts and I'd like to figure out what I'm doing wrong and if i could see a pic of a correct edit it will all make sense. Don't know if I'm deleting/changing the wrong values or what. I have tried deleting a byte from the min and adding it to the max and changing the min to 38 7F and the max to 60 FF FF 7F. Is that right or is there something else i need to change as well? I'd really like to know how to do this correctly but I need another hint besides idle's discription lol.

Softcore and Hardcore stashes are separate stashes. There is no way to convert them in Hex (unless you copy/paste the whole Hardcore Stash into the Softcore Stash and fix ALL the byte counts that change). You just have to leave the items you want on Hardcore in the Character's save file before you transfer it to Hardcore.

Havent seen anyone say where this was yet, and now there wont be just white and black items. On rare, magic items just before the item identified flag. You will find the Prefix and Suffix location. 18 is the Prefix, 20 is the Suffix. Just change the byte following them.

09389D02 - Dexterity
C7FABCA0 - Dexterity (Again)
F17007AD - Intelligence
E83E22AA - STR, DEX, INT, VIT
ADDING BYTES:
Method 1:
14. Repeat steps 8-13 (32 Effects on an item is the MAX you can have)
ENJOY AND DO NOT POST THIS ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
DO NOT MAKE ITEMS THAT WILL BREAK THE GAME (LAG ITEMS)!

ADDING BYTES:
Method 1:
14. Repeat steps 8-13 (32 Effects on an item is the MAX you can have)
ENJOY AND DO NOT POST THIS ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
DO NOT MAKE ITEMS THAT WILL BREAK THE GAME (LAG ITEMS)!

You need to delete the Minimum Durability (FFFF7F) and add them to the Maximum Durability. Just highlight the Min Dura, and press Ctrl+X and then click before the Max Dura and press Ctrl+V. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE THE MIN DURABILITY WITH ONE BYTE LEFT AND MAKE THE VALUE 7F!!!

At least you got to step seven. I can't get past step two without corrupting my game. I just wish i could see a pic of what the changes are supposed to look like before saving and loading it up to repair the items. Also does anyone have the item ID for Tal Rasha's Guise of Wisdom? Trying to make a full set and that is the only piece i am missing and I'm not having any luck getting it to drop.

I'll look and see if i have them still and get the id.
On a side note its not related to item modding but if anyone wants a sex change its the 10th byte from the end of your name. I can get it to change once but cant figure how to change it back. Its always gonna be +2 changing from male or female, but like i said i cant figure how to change back once ive already made the edit.

Can anyone explain how I can use this formula on large numbers? Like in the millions or billions?
lets take "3046" as an example
divide that by 128 and take the result cut of the decimal values and multiply it with 128... then subtract that result from 3046
then add that result to 128 (this is the first hex part)
the second part of the hex value would be the 23 (17 in hex)
3046 / 128 = 23.796875
128 * 23 = 2944
3046 - 2944 = 102
128 + 102 = 230 (E6 in hex)
so the result should be E617
-----
---Edit: I just tried doing it by hand..
For 65535 I get FF80FF, although the tool by vulnavi gives me FFFF03.
And, yes, I double checked my work.
---Edit: The formula is broken as explained.
Number to convert: 1099511648256, Result from vulnavia's tool: 80A081808020
(1099511648256 / 128) * 128 = 1099511648256
1099511648256 - 1099511648256 = 0
0 + 128 = 128 (80)
128 + 128 = 256 (100)
Formula's result: 10080
Sounds legit. /sarcasm

ikr, also dose posted the wings codes on the previous page.
The white one is the same as I posted, and Idle says it's xbox only.
Can anyone explain how I can use this formula on large numbers? Like in the millions or billions?
Because it only explains how to get two values
I suppose I just run blocks of 4 decimals through it...?
Say you want to find a big number, like 1410065091. You start out like normal.
1410065091 / 128 = 11016133 (remainder)
11016133 * 128 = 1410065024
1410065091 - 1410065024 = 67
67 + 128 = 195 (C3)
So the first value is 195 (C3)
But since the remainder (11016133) is over 128 (or if it's equal to 128), we continue using that remainder.
11016133 / 128 = 86063 (remainder)
86063 * 128 = 11016064
11016133 - 11016064 = 69
69 + 128 = 197 (C5)
Second value is C5.
(C3C5 so far)
Now the rest.
86063 / 128 = 672 (remainder)
672 * 128 = 86016
86063 - 86016 = 47
47 + 128 = 175 (AF)
(C3C5AF so far)
672 / 128 = 5 (remainder)
5 * 128 = 640
672 - 640 = 32
32 + 128 = 160 (A0)
(C3C5AFA0 so far)
and since the remainder is less than 128, it's just 05. So C3C5AFA005 is the final value.

ADDING BYTES:
Method 1:
14. Repeat steps 8-13 (32 Effects on an item is the MAX you can have)
ENJOY AND DO NOT POST THIS ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
DO NOT MAKE ITEMS THAT WILL BREAK THE GAME (LAG ITEMS)!
Sorry to bother you guys, just wondering if this is patched for PS3. I've been trying to add bytes for 2-3 days and i keep getting corrupted hero. :( I can't even pass step 2; I find the minimum durability (3 Byte series), item is legendary so i believe there is no Dye (2 Byte series) once i find the maximum durability (3 Byte series) and paste the 2 Bytes (from minimum durability) in front of the 3 Byte (Maximum durability), change remaining 1 Byte (minimum durability) to 7F and the maximum to FFFF7F (starting AFTER the 2 Bytes i pasted in front of the original maximum durability) and save.
Once loaded i have a corrupted hero. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you :)
Thanks for the share Idle.. just now getting around to writing something

It hasn't been patched on the ps3 it is just really tedious. I modded my own Azurewrath sword to have 32 property slots following instructions provided by Idle and took me a long time to get it right. First make sure that the item is fully repaired. Honestly I'm not sure if it makes a difference but mine was when I did this. What you want to do is to locate the item and find the hex string with the item's durability. You need to use it to trick the game into adding bytes. (using my azurewrath as an example)
The original line should originally look similar to this
30 09 38 9C 03 40 00 50 12 60 9C 03
Edit it so that it becomes
30 09 38 7F 40 00 50 12 60 FF FF 7F
The numbers should all fall into place and you shouldn't ever touch the 80 or whatever comes after the max durability area
After you load up and repair the item go back to edit it again and the string should look similar to this
30 09 38 FF FF 7F 40 00 50 12 60 FF FF 7F
Change that to
30 09 38 FF 7F 40 00 50 12 60 FF FF FF 7F
Load up and Repair one last time making the string become
30 09 38 FF FF FF 7F 40 00 50 12 60 FF FF FF 7F
Now you can safely add a single property by making the line
1D XX XX XX XX 30 09 38 7F 40 00 50 12 60 FF 7F
Now just load up and repair the item to start the process all over again
I hope that helps took me forever to get it right and even longer to turn 6 property slots into 32 lol

I'm now around 50, if you guys are around 90'ish can you load your savedata, so i will resign, go take achive and delete savedata. I need this achievement badly, and even puzzle rings cant spawn any goblin, i'm trying to find so badly since the day 1, I made 7 level 60 chars from the beginning just to find goblin in a natural way but its still around 50 :/ i cant take it anymore.. Nice work man.
I find it pretty god damn hilarious that the console version is now more mod-able than the PC version.
This is awesome work, keep it up.
Haven't seen anyone mention "Demonic Essence" I was wondering if anyone has found out its item ID and what has to be changed to change the quantity...?
This is all I really want, I love playing legitimately as a lot do but this particular item eludes me, 3 days of farming and I only have 148 to show for it...

F1 32 E9 F6 Demonic Essence (Not positive someone else posted it)
The quantity change is the same as is posted in the first post of the thread.

Thank you for new ID's.
I did get the achivement 'wear all the set parts' by doing these steps:
- Go to this site and find the set part you're looking for, in your example its Zunimassa's String: http://d3db.com/item/i/zunimassas-string-of-skulls
- Take the Decimal number of Item ID'S and convert it to Hex code, Decimal: 2665445328 Hex: 9EDF77D0
- Reverse it, D0 77 DF 93, and put after the hex 15:
- Name doesnt always change, but the Item is percieved as original by game and If you wear all the zuni parts like this, you'll get achivement. But name may be different or may not be seen at all.
To use this effectively;
Use a SET item to transform it another SET item. Its more success thisway.
Use a Legendary item to transform it another Legendary item.
Use a Rare item to transform it another rare item (except legendary recipes, they can be done via rare items. After you've done, right click them to learn, thats all).
Another great thing you can do is, Use the spesific items' bonuses. For example, you can implement a Stone of Jordan code to any item you have to earn %xx number Bonus Dmg to Elites (this stat is implemented in SoJ code, its not separated ID). Or any bonus you can think of.
At least it worked for me, and now I'm wearing different items but they're all have Hellfire Ring bonus, I mean 13 x 35% experience bonus + 3 socketed helm %99 bonus + Master V bonus, and tons of experience items :) After I completed act 1 nightmare, I was level 60 already (in normal conditions its around 40 at that pace).

Ok so this process of using the item's id to find the hex works with weapons and armor as well? I thought i had read in an earlier post that it only worked with the blacksmith plans but I'll give this a try. How did you get the +35%exp bonus on multiple items? I'm trying to make a single power leveling set to get my level 1 characters to 60 as fast as possible and this would help a ton.

Ok Here is what I done:
1. Take the 'Black ring' and another yellow item I crafted to a mule char.
2. Enter the same Items's ID code (the one after 04 07 08 15 XX XX XX XX) to the Black ring's code. Save and load game. Now you have 2 yellow item one has tons of attribute with the name Black SOMETHING other is your normal Yellow Item, so basically, this process converts your normal 5 attribute normal item to 20 attribute. You can now enter +EXP how much as you want.
3. Do this process to all the slots (Amulet, rings, bracers, shoulders etc.) except the Cain Set's (I use gloves, pants and boots).
4. Now you'll have around +500 exp each with total of 8 items (gloves, boots, pants and helm is excluded).
5. Find the Hellfire ring's code with this method I explained a previous post, and put those codes to the Rings you have. So one of your rings will have +35% and tons of stat at the same time. You only need to change the ring's item code to Hellfire's code. Now that item will convert to a Hellfire ring but with tons of stats in it and a yellow colour.
6. Find the Leorics Signet code the same way and put that code to your other ring. So your rings will gain 35% exp bonus. Names of them will probably not be seen but that doesnt matter. A leoriC Signet with tons of +exp bonus and %35 exp is sweet.
7. Create a helm but dont use in it the '3 Socket code' instead use 3 x '1 socket code'. So you will have 99% gem bonus here.
8. Craft a Pant, Glove and Boots and make them Black Pant, Black Glove, Black Boot.
8. Craft Cain Set.
9. Take Cain Set ID's and copy-paste the ID to those ID with Black Pant, Black Glove, Black Boot.
10. NOw, you have a Cain set with 20 attribute each, put +exp bonus for them.
---------------
With this method, you will have
- 99% (helm), 70% (ring) and 35% (cainset) exp bonuses = 200% exp
- 13 items with 500 exp each = 6500 exp.
- Master V level gameplaying = 150%
-----
But, In somepoint of game you stop leveling because your char becomes too op for the monsters. You cant be 20+ before you kill Skeleton kill for example. I tried everything but you dont gain any ex I think at this level with those monsters.
If you play normally,
you cant pass 32+ in 'normal' mode.
And you cant pass 55+ in 'nightmare' mode.
Those are the limits I observed.
So I advice you to create an Act IV game with your higher level char (those monsters are higher levels so they always give you much more exp than other acts) and start the first quest then exit your high level char. Enter with level 1 char again to start with that quest and join with 3 more level 1 char (u need 3 joysticks) so, When you there's a high level difference between the characters in game, lower characters doesnt get much exp. So always try to play with same level chars and level them all, alltogether.
If you dont have additional joysticks, you can dupe your rings and amulets for your follower, because quarter of their +exp bonus stat adds to you.
Level until 30 in act 4 normal (15 min.).
Level until 50 in act 4 nightmare (45~60 min.).
Level until 60 in act 4 hell (25-35 min).
In a half an hour you can level 4 of your characters to 60, in 3 hours 8 of them. Basically the fastest way I achieved.

Was a testing stuff only with the rings and I was sure that system will work for other items but it didnt. When I changed, for example a bracer, into hellfire's ID, It magically becomes a 'ring'. So I cant implement Hellfire's Exp code to other items other than rings. And 2 rings with that code cant be worn so use Leoric's signet code one ring, Hellfire one ring.
Sorry for misguiding, It wasnt tested much.

Is there any particular way to edit the amount of damage a certain effect does? I know that even with the editor there is no exceeding 32 properties, and with the posted effect codes I can only achieve only 80K damage before gemming.

This was almost exactly what i did with the white exp gear on the ps3, only i didnt make a hellfire ring i just wore one instead, and i used a 3 socket hex in the helm why waste 2 other slots on sockets when 1 works the same way. Also, if people want to power lvl with exp gear, stay in act 3, dont go anywhere else. Lvl 1-30 Normal, then 30-50 nightmare, then hell to 60, all in act 3 MP5 works great.
thank you Idle and everyone for this!

Theres a better way to do this and have 28K per kill XP. Ive created a set that will make your level 1 to a level 60 in maybe 15 min. If you have figured out how to add 32 effects then just use that string code to add nothing but XP and glitch yourself into inferno.

The helm part: '3 socket' ID didnt work for me in helms so I used 3 x 1 socket instead.
The act part: Yeah act 3's monster density is better but loggin off and again log in back to act 4 pinacle of heaven part is very exhausting. I had to change hero, change joyistick, log all the chars again etc. So boring. So Play one of two times in act 4 and achive the goal which is easier I guess.
The only exp gear part: Yeah you can easily do that with that info in this thread. But if you wear ONLY exp, you'll end up pressing triangle button to revive your toon and wasting tons of 5 seconds. Monsters will eventually one-shot to you, if you dont have some survivability stats. And upgrading an item to 32 attribute means put that usb-stick to ps and pc 32 times, which means noone has time for that :)
If you have time and patient, make an 32 attribute item. And dupe it 13 times. Then craft 13 item: (helm, shoulder, gloves, sword, shield, belt, boots, rings x2, amulet x 1, chest, pants). After you have 13 mule items and, 13 duped 32xattribute items, combine the mule items' ID's to 32 attributes items and voila! You have 13 items with 32 attributes in them. Use 2 of attribute for STR-VIT-INT-DEX code, fullfill others with EXP, convert your rings to hellfire and leorics signet, convert your 3 parts of armor to cain set, make 3 socket in helm and you're done. Dont forget some dps, cause in Hell difficulity, if you want to one-shot all, you need at least 1m dps (1000k).

i think he means hex the game to inferno... unless there is a glitch, if there is it would stop me from having to run through hell mode

I'm trying to add properties to an item with the save editor, but i think im doing something wrong.
When i extract a 0x1D property, edit it to be longer, and replace it, it gives a "propertie must be 4 bytes" error. Ok, i get that, but when i "Add new propertie", the editor sticks it at the END of the data block (item), and i cant seem to move it. Do i need to add all the properties at the end, then extract the whole data block, re-arrange it, and then import it back?
Any help would be much appreciated. I figured with the full editor out, theres no real reason to use the durability trick to add more bytes/properties anymore. Thanks ijn advance!

Question on this, when I open my hex workshop editor, what file am I putting in it to edit my items? My d3 save, my extracted hero save from horizon or my extracted hero save from the diablo 3 editor? Also, do I have to decrypt it first, mod then encrypt? I'm trying to find my items to mod & I know I have some rare items on me in which I'm looking at "50" to try & find "50 12" then I know what to do but nothing is coming up, much help would be appreciated please & thank you!

Im definitely having trouble with this hex editor and trying to find just one weapon. I can't seem to find any of the values listed above. If someone could help me that would be great. Simply trying this is daunting but I'm still pressing on. Btw I'm sure this is an awesome tut I just can't seem to grasp it haha
Why is it every time I put my game save on my flash drive and go to decrypt it the game save isn't there? Never ran into this problem before...

I hope this helps, I managed to find/mod a few items even though I modded a bunch but when I loaded up the game save, it only game me a few modded, equipped it only showed a few but here's what I did, drag the i.d. out of the heroes tab from your d3 game save from horizon, then decrypt it using the d3 decrypt/encrypt tool. Then open it up in the hex workshop editor. Find 1D in your "find" & then keep searching, it will be a few to several finds (meaning find next 1D). When you know you have something, you'll see the number "15" like 5 spaces behind the 1D, then when you're editing the 1D, you'll see about 4 more spaces in front of that 1D & then another 1D, 4 spaces & so on & so forth. You'll eventually get to the point where you'll see 50 for the item Rarity as well. Just keep trying. That's what I'm doing. I can't find where to mod the damage on anything though & armor value.

There is actually a way... way... easier way of doing this. Go ahead and open up your save in the editor, Ctrl+F and type 070804 (beginning of an item). For example, if you have just the raven bow in your inventory, Ctrl+F and type 070804, make sure you change the text string to hex, then your line should look like this:
07 08 04 15 95 9C 9F 10 1D ... 1D ... 1D
this is your items id
The 15 before is your rarity of that item, and 1D (4bytes) is your effects.

First off ignore everything but the Awful Necklace codes on the bottom. Anyways I've been sick for some time and I had this on my PC before I went into the ER. The red is something that alters the items and does increase some stats but not all. It will increase chance item affixes like % to be surrounded by arcane orbs or % chance to explode with poison etc. I have that crossbow that can shoot through enemies shooting through enemies at a 73% which IMO is really good.
What you want to do is change the red to FF FF FF FF 0F I haven't had much time to experiment more with these so best to experiment.
The other green text is how to remove BoA items. Change the 30 0F to 30 09 and change the 58 04 to 58 00. Once you change the 58 04 to 00 in game those bytes get deleted and the item is unlocked. This only works for crafted BoA items.
Anyone have the Windforce ID code? I'm too lazy to go through saves to find one.

Okay so apparently you can add bytes using gems. Anyone know this method? This is an entire code for a 600k Azurewrath. Once the Gems are removed the DMG goes back to 112k. Okay so apparently you can add bytes using gems. Anyone know this method? This is an entire code for a 600k Azurewrath. Once the Gems are removed the DMG goes back to 112k. The gem's are also named with an error looking code. I've seen this before when I was messing with codes awhile back and made a ring/gem hybrid that froze and corrupted my save.
Time to change this to an ammy and have a shit ton of discipline lol
any idea how to make demonic essence etc tradeable?

Not sure if it's the one that was Promised but the Editor that Jappi has release allows you to edit your weapon just fine. This includes adding more IDs, as the editor fixes the byte count for you.

Once again thanks to anyone who has posted IDs
If anyone would like to clean it up feel free and post it up.
BTW if you break 100% block on a follower item they can't die, same goes with you if you have an item with 100%+ block. My followers are pretty funny with massive attack speed block chance =p

I'm looking for help with a minor detail that will allow me to finish my set for my Wiz.
Does anyone know the single HEX Data for 250ish INT + 80ish VIT?
BE DF 59 91 = 150 INT + 83 VIT
not good enough for BiS
Thank you!

Hex Workshop 6.7 doesn't have the copy/paste option in it (don't know why they removed it). Anyways a quick fix for it would be to install and use Hex Workshop 6.6.1, Download link below.

Hi!! :)
I was looking for a good ring and i have a question!
i want to boost my paragon so is there a way to make a +4000% exp +4000 MF (just an example) or something similar? maybe 3 or 4 times DBB49EB5 - 46% Magic Find ??
And another simple question! i can't find which program must be used to "open" my files! i have Hex Workshop 6 and i've downloaded D3Decrypt but i can't open Account.DAT etc....
Can you just tell me the steps i have to follow?? if i open with Hex Workshop i can see the "code" but i don't know if it's a good way to do it! if you want to make the ring for me i can give my PSN :) Thanks

.. You dont know if whats a good way to do it.. You are editing things in hex, so any hex program is a good way to do it. Also for your steps i can only help on the ps3 since i dont have 360 and dont know all the steps to save.
Pre-step: Read this thread to find out how to edit a item.
1. Copy save to usb should be simple enough
2. Drag BLUS/BLES folder into Bruteforce Save Data
3. Highlight the BLUS/BLES folder then on the bottom window click decrypt - > Decrypt all files.
4. Use D3decrypt and pick your HRO file to decrypt and click decrypt
5. Either open hexworkshop then.. Drag the HRO file onto it, Goto file open, or even just right click on the file and click open with hex workshop.. Theres at least 3 ways to open a file in hex workshop.
6. Edit your item
7. Save file then work backwards from step 4 till you have encrypted your files.
Also Magic find and gold find has been said more times then i can remember, they are capped at like 610% which is what you have at lvl 60 mp5 with stacks of valor. And i dont believe anyone has found a way to take exp% and add it to anything besides the items its already coded onto such as leorics ring.

ok ok thanks! i made it! i mean.....the encrypting part! now...how the hell can i know which item i'm talking about???
15 = Item ID (Int32) what does this mean? EVERY TIME i found a 15 it's a new item??? because i'm pretty LOST!!!! i'm new to hex but i really want to understand this part! I can't see a clear map of the code, anything is repeated so i can tell....."ok...here's the new one"
edit: after some time i found an item that is ok with the example made by IdleHands88! I mean the gem value, the id, the "1Ds" for the various effects so i tried to put on them the DBB49EB5" for the magical find but now my question is....how the hell do i know which item i'm editing??? i mean...if i want to edit the 3rd ring in my stash??? how can i find it? somewhere i read that account.dat is the stash or something similar? thanks

There are a couple of ways to identify it in the vast coding. The easiest way is to make a new character and place only that ring in his inventory. Then you should make note of it's rarity and how many "effect IDs" it already has on it. Compare that data to the code you locate and proceed to make your changes there.
All of these things are much easier to accomplish with the release save editor, however.

This is a list of ID's and affixes so if you are looking for a item or an affix it's probably in here. Download it as a txt file and just copy the code from your editor and in notepad or whatever program you use to view txt files do a search and it should display.

Nice work uncovering those values any idea what the code is for item quantity? like to get 100 of it or higher. I've tried the ff, f7 thing but not sure if you just change the 40 (f7), or the 40 (f7 7f) only part that is ticking me off some help on this would be amazing ^.^

To use this effectively;
I've made a programa so people can simplify this method of converting an item id to hex. I've tested it with all blacksmith plans and some other items and all codes are converted properly to the game.
Go to the page informed above: http://d3db.com
Pick the item you want to change and copy its ID number.
Go to this page, paste the code in the first box and click convert. Then just copy the result of the second box and change the desired ID on your save. Remember the hints of dupedupe.

Or you can just take the ID from that site, highlight the ID in Hex Workshop and then paste the ID into the UInt32 value and press enter (Make sure you also have Intel selected)...

Hey Idle, A While back there was a Document posted for the IDs of all the Possible Affixes that was data mined from the PC version, Ive tried several combinations to try and get those numbers to Correspond to Some of the Affixes we've found here. Is it possible for you to take a look at a few affixes and maybe come up with a Pattern so we'd have full access to all affixes?

This is an echoing fury with a marq. emerald i've tried adding intelligence to the bolded id's and I've got 1. intelligence & dex 2. critical chance 3. Increased weapon damage

you can if its already on the weapon but you have to do the add bytes then move them the gems to add but not recommended if you take them off it will mess up the save if you want to add anything add crit hit damage 8B 25 5F EC for the emerald for ruby i would just add damage but always keep a back up of original file just in cas you mess up you cant just type in more bytes though

Thank you for the reply. Hadn't thought about adding bytes then moving them but that increases the durability right? I was trying to just make it the best possible version of the legitimate weapon. I think I ended up doing pretty much what you suggested though just added something else instead and it turned out pretty good. So it worked out but that was the second thing I tried doing with intelligence and critical stuff I think those two are hard to work with on certain things for some reason even though dex, str and vit all seem to do pretty much exactly what you want.

Nope, the value is built into the Effect.

so if the value is in the effect,
then are there different codes of different values of a certain effect?
ex. i would like to change my run speed from +1% to +3%
code for +1% run speed effect is xx:xx:xx:xx
code for +3% run speed effect is yy:yy:yy:yy

Yep there are about 5-7 ID's for each Effect as each ID gives a different amount.

Nope, they weren't added to the game's coding for the xbox version. The PS3 and xbox wings are different but they share the exact same code, meaning that Blizz made each wing type 100% exclusive.

ADDING BYTES:
Method 1:
14. Repeat steps 8-13 (32 Effects on an item is the MAX you can have)
Yo Idlehands, I created a profile on this site solely to ask you something. I've been trying to mod a Legendary weapon on the PS3 console version. I have been following your steps and to my surprise have been having success in moving the durability, one-by-one, to create new bytes......until now. I need something cleared up. I am on step 8 with my weapon. When you say that the min and max should have 5 bytes each you meant including the prefix that begins the codes, correct? (ex. "38" for min and "60" for max) My minimum durability in hex reads "38 FF FF FF 7F" and my max reads "60 FF FF FF 7F". Your instructions say to remove 4 bytes from min and 1 from max (5 total to input a new affix).....If I were to remove 4 bytes from min, all that would be remaining is the "38" that starts the min code, thus corrupting the savefile. It frustrates me to have made it this far in the process with high hopes of the end result to hit a wall here, and I desperately want to learn this; I've spent hours trying different things. I need to know what to do at the point I've made it to, please. I've tried removing the 3 "FF" bytes in the min code (leaving "38 7F") and 2 of the "FF"'s in the max code (leaving "60 FF 7F"), which allowed me to add a new affix, yes, but afterwards when the weapon was repaired, a new byte didn't appear in the min code to allow me to continue with the byte growth, so I'm positive that was incorrect. I've backed my data up every step of the way so my progress wasn't lost, so I'm back now at the min "38 FF FF FF 7F", max "60 FF FF FF 7F". Taking another "FF" from the min and adding it to the max causes the weapon to have no durability min or max in-game, so I need your guidance to continue with this project and am very excited about it so please help me dude......
(By the way, after the sword is completed, if an extra byte is put into max durability beyond the 5 max virtually removing durability from the item, would it still be wield-able in-game without the need to ever repair it? Because I did that by accident and noticed it didn't corrupt the savefile. If so, we could make indestructible items that have no durability value vs having 100,000,000 durability) ;)
I didn't want to mod another Azurewrath, literally every-other-player owns one. What I'm doing is modding a Skycutter sword which is a replica of Tyrael's sword. Which by the way, the random effect on the sword that summons angels on attack is embedded in the item ID, can't be removed and doesn't cost an affix slot to have on the blade. Which is neat. I aim to stack the max 32 effects on the sword, including Holy Damage, Arcane Damage, + Damage %, + Attack Speed.......and would appreciate some other effect ideas from you personally (looking at your Azurewrath, you clearly know what you're doing and how to raise that DPS). And after it's all said and done I'll need your help again because I intend to rename the sword after Tyrael's, "El'druin, Sword Of Justice". I wish we could figure out how to embed the Angelic Wings into it somehow, causing the wielder to display the wings while wearing the sword but that's likely impossible. Regardless, you have to admit it's an interesting project and cooler than the Azurewrath swords floating around everywhere, and I need your help to keep moving forward from here........PLEASE help me over this speed bump!
I'm literally at a stopping point and can't continue without your aid so I will be waiting for you before touching it again. But although I'm excited and want to jump back on it asap, I'd rather your response be detailed vs hasty because if you're brief about it I likely won't have all the answers I need; this is the only time I've ever altered hex in anything so it'll be fairly easy to lose me with a brief explanation. Yet, I do know my way around PC's and have a genius I.Q. lol so I'm not necessarily a moron either......anyway, the press is stopped for you brotha, please help me out....
I REALIZE I ASKED YOU SEVERAL QUESTIONS BUT IF ALL YOU HELP ME WITH IS CONTINUING MY BYTE GROWTH I WILL BE SATISFIED AS IT IS THE MAIN ISSUE WITH CONTINUING MY PROGRESS AND THE ONLY QUESTION TO WHICH AN ANSWER IS ESSENTIAL TO ENABLE MY MOVING FORWARD.

WOW!
I got to messing around and tried again to take 3 bytes from min and 2 bytes from max....added an affix, repaired the weapon in-game, saved my file to usb, brought it back to HxD Hex Editor.......this time it worked. You're not gonna believe this, but last time I tried, I believe now that I forgot to overwrite the file on usb after repairing, and plugged it back into my computer with the OLD DATA before the repair lol! I've got it now; I've added another 4 affixes since my last post and on my way to that 32 max. However, I'd still appreciate advice on what effects to use, and renaming the sword will still be an obstacle without directions...

I have a question. I would like to mod an amulet or ring, with a very high MP regain rate. Is there a good modifier to use for this?

I'll look and see if i have them still and get the id.
On a side note its not related to item modding but if anyone wants a sex change its the 10th byte from the end of your name. I can get it to change once but cant figure how to change it back. Its always gonna be +2 changing from male or female, but like i said i cant figure how to change back once ive already made the edit.
Edit:
36 25 22 0E = White
C9 91 18 AB = Red
manage to do sex change thanks to dose haha!
after your name you should see this byte:
80 80 80 B0 - male
82 80 80 F0 - female
change to your liking :122:

Hey guys. Very new here, been experimenting quite a bit with this (thanks for all of the work everyone has put into this). I'm currently trying to mess around with some rings (Hellfire and The Wailing Host so far) and every time I try and pick them up, the game freezes. I haven't had this issue with any other items before and was wondering if anyone possibly knew why this could be happening.
I searched the topic and didn't find any answers for this question. Any assistance would be great! Thanks.

I've been through every page of this thread and I've gotten the programs and made my own items. The final thing that I've apparently missed, or maybe it was never answered, is whether or not we are able to edit the item's name(s). I have to give many thanks and props to all the people working on this, Idle for starters, and I hope that one of you will let me know. If it is something that can't be changed then why? Is it something that is inherent in the Item ID? I've tried reverse engineering it by reworking the hex into Decimal and converting that into ASCII and I get Chinese symbols sometimes and other times nothing. Literally tried everything I can think of and starting to think that if the game itself doesn't recognize the Id it corrupts the file, so anything tried to rename it is going to cause the game to not recognize the new Id and corrupt it. So long winded I know, but if someone could point me in the right direction as to whether or not the names can be reworked, I would be very appreciative.
Once again many thinks to Idle and the rest.
