I'm not entirely certain about the PS3, but I know the PSP has a whole bunch of ways to keep people from hacking its games. For instance, each game encrypts its save, and each game's encryption is different. One would have to spend a very long time just to learn how to hack one game, and that knowledge would be useless when trying to hack other games.
Since the PS3 is made using the same general software the PSP uses, I assume it has similar measures in place (I'm pretty sure it does). In other words, I don't think you'll find anybody who can hack it, even if they wanted to. Sorry, friend.

I thought all ps3 saves were encrypted hardcore and also (with the exception of gt5 obviously) profile and console signed.

some saves are locked to the console. but, the latest gt5 update allows the save to be copied.

ask genesis give me a min to look the save over.
try that remember to back up your save and to use all the files located within. if this doesnt work then its more complicated cuz the save is either encrypted or its in a different type of con that needs a program unzip.

sweet at least you were able to see the change. that means there is a checksum on it and ps3 is known for heavy checksums on all their saves so i wouldnt hold my breathe.

Encryption AND checksum! Ouch. I guess it's lucky GTA only has a checksum. But yeah. Like I said before, Sony is takes a lot of crazy measure to make sure people don't hack the games on their systems (for instance, each game having its own encryption format as I mentioned earlier). Of course, from what I've been able to gather, the PS3's version of GTA is very similar to in format to the 360's. I've never hacked GTA for the 360, but if they are the same in format, one who has experience hacking one may also be able to do the other. Just my two cents.

Hmmm.i believe there are somesites like codemastersproject that relies on codes for ps3 games. Specially since the PS3 being JBed. I own a PS3. But i haven't used the JB. Gonna wait for a proper one.
