This may have already been posted in the 64 pages for this thread, but I attempted to try this out with my PS3 Save Data today. Am I supposed to decrypt the save prior to opening it with your editor, or, is the decryption built in like the XBOX360 save management has?

In the above video, I:
Open as Administrator
Select "PS3 Mode"
Open my "APP.DAT" save file
Receive a bunch of crazy numbers for each of the modifiers
I also tried to run it without using the Administrator option and I ended up with similar results. Prior to that I just fiddled with some options to make sure I wasn't receiving exception errors.
If I did something wrong, please let me know. I would really like to utilize this for GIL modifying. Thanks!

A new compact version of the Equipment and Object Editors are almost ready. New version to be released soon has location editor as well.
Sweet. Now if only I could change the weapons and shields without them getting messed up. I change the values and end up with 2 crimson blitzs in the shield(kind of interesting to have a sword hanging from the wrist) and a pyrtwen in the sword(again, kind of interesting astetically, but I am not going to try going into battle with a shield instead of sword. I don't know if it would mess things up. It might work ok but I for one am not taking a chance.

Just hex edit the save yourself, it's very simple just buy a bunch of cheap weapons/shields and swap them with whatever you want.

You must be using an older version of the tool. Did you happen to grab v0.24?

So after I edit everything in the save, I save it then try to load it up again in the save editor and it's exactly the way it looks before I edited it. Did I do something wrong?

It doesn't support adding items right now, only replacing, as there is a different part of the file that handles how many items you have. So replacing anything you already have works, adding items past the amount you previously had does not.
I tired replacing ones I already had with different ones & still no change.

Might be a stupid question, but are you making sure to grab the save from the modified save data folder and not your original save?
I tired replacing ones I already had with different ones & still no change.

I do apologize for missing that small piece. I went ahead and followed the steps you suggested and it appears your tool is corrupting my data every single time I follow the steps documented.
I've produced two videos -- one with the actions I perform on the computer; second (which overlaps the first) showing my transfer of the modified data and the corrupt message I'm receiving every time on the PS3.
Please let me know if I did something incorrect, thanks!

Just don't close Jappi's tool. Hit encrypt instead of closing. Then transfer it back.

I just did. I wasn't paying attention to where it was saving it to. My bad. Now every time I try to save, rehash and resign it or even open it up again in the save editor, it says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application" and basically forces me to close it. Never mind. I figured it out. Thank you for the help!

I really hope for an ability editor, bring them at level "star" with minimum ATB cost and best auto-abilities is really a pain.

-In your (Hex) Garb Sector is located an interrupted Offsettable wich cares for XBox stop while Loading..why I know?..I take one Copy of your Garbs and put´em in my Save..because I have nt the 1st Class Soldier..and I want it.

This question has nothing to do with the editor but how do you increase lightnings EP cap? It only goes up to 1. It says you can increase it by battling and I've done a lot of battles and it doesn't go past 1 except after the ark when the EP gets replenished.

you have to complete the principale main quests for every place (Yusnaan-Luxurion- and the 2 other places)to have an EP from each like a bonus at the end!!!

It goes up when you complete the main quests in the game, I think each one gives you +1 ep.

I can't really help any of the code in my save being irregular but I thought a full inventory of basically everything would be valuable. As far as I understand you have to synthesize abilities to "Star" them and you need several from every level to get the best "Star" one with the lowest ATB cost, which means dozens and dozens of each ability total and that's not even mentioning auto-abilities to synth onto them too. And no the Ultima weapon still won't be the absolute best because other weapons have different side abilities which are better in certain situations, although if you could get max ATB recovery speed hacked from it that'd certainly be a contender.

It goes up when you complete the main quests in the game, I think each one gives you +1 ep.
I've completed all main quests in luxerion and my EP is only at 1/1. I'm currently working on the yusnaan main quests.

i cannot download your save it says i need a decryption key.
I wanted to ask now that i completed the game and am on NG+ Hard Mode.
If i swapped a garb out with one that i have already.
When i unlock it again would it still get the "+" upgrade on it when i get it again or no?
And is there anyway to be able to unlock limit break for all your garbs without having to beat the game over and over?
I'll probably upload my save in a bit but im a little busy atm so if anyone replys, sorry for the wait.

Im going to be as mod crazy as i can be on this one.
Im on NG+ Hard Mode but idk if i have it in me to do another playthrough like i did.
I know this isn't the place to ask's for requests but i just thought since everyone already has or is doing saves like this.
Im renting from gamefly and i really want that Dark Souls 2 so ill be sending this back soon.
But i was wondering does anybody have a save thats like the one in bangorrhea's post?
All achievements and everything unlocked and completed on Hard Mode with lots and lots of mods?
weapons, garbs, main/side quests, chocolina's board quests, accessories, last ones, etc.
Literally everything done, Im guessing the save will be right before you kill "God" but thats ok the NG++ Hard Mode is what i want.
I'd just like to run around and not worry about anything, and just play and fight.

Nice update. One thing I noticed though is messed up stats on some weapons and shields, some had crazy atb stats like +1500 and when I loaded my save after editing my equipped items were all messed up, I had an outfit on one of the accessory slots, 2 weapons instead of a shield on one as well. That being said the messed up stats on some of the weapons are actually pretty cool, one has stagger +80% lol.

UPDATE: The editor worked great except for the Abilities (Missed that they were READ only for now should have read slower but hey I got excited) not being able to modified but you can add components to max out abilities so no biggie.
Issues I found, Once you load into the game your floating as you stated however after a min I was still floating (with torso flipping) and found reason. Once you use the new editor it removes everything you had equipped and changes it with random components. My file where there was supposed to be Garbs had weapons in that spot. Once I changed that to a garb fixed the issue. With the new editor I only added in some components, Items and Acc.
So anyone who uses this be prepared to redo your Schemas or make sure you copy them down before you use so you know what to switch back to. But other than those small things everything I added from editor showed up and worked. (XBOX360)

5. Press Save

5th: now type in the written GIL (when u have 900Gil, you come at 4Hex-Scince). (to mod your Gil well, only mod 8hex-scince)
6th: Begin to "mark" the 2hex before the one you found, only 8 Hex enpugh & rightclick on that what you mark & select "select block" & choose "DEC" & type in the "Lenght" 99999999, after type in, choose "Hex" copy that hex wich are choosed from 99999999 and press STRG+V. Than press Chancel on the Window, so it closed.
7th: Now go to the 1st 2 Hex, wich you have choosed to start before and press "STRG+B".
8th: Press Strg+S (this will save your file) & close the HxD Editor & open the "decrypter" open your decrypted File & encrypt.
9th: Put your modded File to your USB & to your Xbox or Ps3 and have fun.

I don't understand step 2, can you elaborate? You say doubleclick your savefile, do you mean the app.data ?
Edit: Nvm Horizon is for xb360 only. Still, I have 15460 gil but can't find this number in HxD, tried every bitwidth.

Thanks for assisting. I thought the APP.DAT that was being saved in the modified save data folder was automatically being encrypted since it had an executable file within the folder with it.
Anywho, I was able to decrypt, update, and successfully load the modified save finally (on 0.24). Thanks again for this and I look forward to the PS3 options being added!

Just tried the new realease with unlocking all of the Equipment, yet my xbox crashes when trying to load the save. The only thing I've modded is the Equipment to unlock all items... anyone else having this issue or is there a way round it?

Put in your save number before opening from usb. Save number = in-game save number - 1.

Works for me, try a different usb stick.
You may also want to try removing all save data besides your current save from the xbox360 and usb stick completely.

The Editor works..and thats enough for me (-: I can extract it other´way..it´s ok for me..
Another Point: That one what I want is, Weapon-Ability Upgrade..it´s not so easy to found..
I think all the Weapon-Abilities have to grow..but they doesnt..

The Editor doesnt work..
Everytime i try to load my modded save
you see the "teleport" effect and then later
the Xbox360 just hangs up..

Ok i just got back am just used the editor.
and my game froze when loading the save
im sure its because i just added things into my save in stead of replacing other items.
weapons, shields, garbs, and upgrade parts and other items.
i didnt add a lot of weapons and shields and garbs BUT what i did was.
"remove all other items > add all items" same thing with the upgrade parts.
because i seen it was easier then just doing one items at a time and making it "999"
im going to try again and ill just buy a lot of the same weapons and shields and replace with ones i want.
and im guessing you HAVE to replace garbs you currently have equipped.
i havent been using the editor as much i've been really busy.
so if i dont reply right away i apologize.

"remove all other items > add all items" same thing with the upgrade parts.

im going to try again and ill just buy a lot of the same weapons and shields and replace with ones i want.
and im guessing you HAVE to replace garbs you currently have equipped.
i havent been using the editor as much i've been really busy.
so if i dont reply right away i apologize.
Try removing all equipment and objects, then add them all back.

I think my current EP doesn't go past 1 and Ive done a ton of battles. I have used the editor a couple of times (not the current version yet) and I know I haven't edited the EP at all. Currently I am fighting cyclops in yusnaan. Am I supposed to have more than 1 EP to use? I think the max I'm supposed to have is 5 right now.

I'm getting the same issue. I've tried removing all equipment and objects in the editor, then adding them all back and it's still crashing when it's loading up into the actual game.

The Case is, I have´nt so much "Accessories" as could be. I remove after "Add all" 4 pieces, like you say, but it dont works - at the Loading Screen before Game starts, Picture freeze.

I did 2 things to make your save work, but I think only one of them is needed.
#1: Removed adornments from all your schemata.
#2: Waited for Chronostasis to run out. (maybe caused the freeze, but didn't only test this)
I think it was the first one though. Your save is loading fine now that adornments were removed before modding. (likely due to adornment code not matching the adornment index)
You can just put them back when loading the save. You'll also have to re-setup all your schemata.
Hope this helps the people having freezing issues.

Removed adornments before modding from your save as well and it loaded. You'll have to re-setup all your schemata after the mods.

Yea i went in game and hit "delete schemata" then i remade the first 3 with just a weapon and shield.
and yea i know only reason i said i was just going to max all because bangorrhea said not to do unlock all
he said thats a reason my game is freezing. so i was going to max all then play the game to find what i dont have then mod again
so i have a new save now with nothing equipped only a weapon and shield.
ill mod and let you know if i still continue to get a freeze.

Ok so my save was able to load.
i was able to do exactly what i wanted.
there are some "unknown" weapons, shields. but i already know thats dlc so im not worried.
So what im going to try to do now is mod it again but this time im going to delete and add all other items.
only thing that did happen i wouldnt say its bad.
but my recovery items went down to 5 but thats because i didnt add any more
i just added "999" to the ones i did have there.
just to see if i get the freeze.
But i just want to say thanks for your help its greatly appreciated. everything works perfectly.
if i have any other problems ill be sure to let you know. =]

The DLC data does not exist unless you purchase it/manually install it and authenticate it for your machine... You can't load something that doesn't exist within your GameData to begin with.

I also mod it so i have everything and max except for the adornments i make sure i have of each and i dont put in any dlc items except for the dlc i have. any idea why it freezes. Normally in the game 99 is max, so really anything over 99 will revert back to it when you pick up more of the item, but if you use 65535 and then pick up an item it will reset to 1 though.

v0.17 - Added support for Jappi's PS3 crypto tool. (Check the checkbox that says "PS3 Mode" before editing your decrypted APP.DAT)
Note: Basic support is included in this build for PS3 save data, "Tools" menu is not enabled yet for PS3.
And that was v0.17, it's at 0.50 now.

Did you read the first page? (Some key items can change the way the game behaves, use with caution)
I would only unlock a key item if needed. Sometimes I have to remove all "Starlit Spice" before walking through a part of Luxerion for example or it will constantly get stolen.

I think the program doesn't work anymore for Ps3, when I try to change my Gil to 500,000,000 (or any other number) it corrupts my ps3 save file.(can't load it in the LR:FF menu)
This is how I did it:
1. Using Jappi's tool, I click on Directory and decrypt my ps3 save file
2. Open Save Editor and check the Ps3 Mode
3. File > Open > Decrypted App.dat
4. Change my Gil to 500,000,000
5. Press Save
6. Press Encrypt on Jappi's tool
7. Closing Save Editor and overwriting the app.data from my Ps3 save file with the new app.data from "modified ffxiii3 save data"
8. copying over to my ps3 and trying to load but then says it is corrupt.
You actualy have to move the saved data from the folder in the rar/winzip archive to the usb and then encrypt it again for it to work on PS3. it dosent save directly on the usb if you open it manualy.

Thats true..when you get in Game on of any Item wich modded to 9999 fall down to 99..
but truely..nobody need more than 99 pieces of Items..and when u have 9999 Components..upgrade all the Weapons you have after that follow your Play....&..with 99 Key-/Items you should get success for all Chocolina Quests..

This happened to me after I completed the main quest for the dead dunes. I was awarded an extra recovery item slot which brought it to 7 slots. Only 3 slots were filled. So I loaded my save in the editor to add some turbo ethers in the 4th slot. I saved and booted up the save and in game I looked at my recovery items and noticed I didn't have 7 slots anymore. I now have 4 slots. In other words the empty slots were deleted or removed. I noticed the same thing with the EP. The cap was at 7. Before modding I only had 3 available EP to use(cap still at 7). After modding the cap went from 7 to 3 because I had 3 available. Maybe this could be prevented in the next update? The editor should have been able to keep the same amount of recovery slots and EP before and after modding without it reducing the cap for both.

Are you gonna add ability modification in your next update? Editing the cost of abilities is pretty straightforward (the ATB cost reduction is 2D bytes from the start of each ability; it counts backwards from 00, so FF is one, FE is two and so forth), but editing the strength of each ability seems to be more involved.
The strength is determined by the last four bytes of each ability, but each ability seems to have a different formula or reference value to work out the actual strength. Attack, for example, seems to have 1.00 as a reference value, so FF FF FF E7, for example, is 0.75 (1.00 - 0.25; 100h - E7h is 19h, which is 25 in decimal) , 00 00 00 19 is 1.25. Working out these base values would go a long way towards making full ability editing possible.
Also, how big is the difference in file structure between the 360 and PS3 files? I posted a list of offsets containing the number of defeated monsters a few pages back - is that information even useful for the 360 version?
EDIT: At least for items, components etc., the correct positions seem to be offset by -108h (so 108h earlier in the file) when compared to 360 saves.

I keep getting an "Error: Unknown file" when opening a PS3 save file. It doesn't matter whether the file is unmodified or decrypted with Jappi's tool. I get the same error message with versions 0.56, 0.55, and 0.19. Any ideas about what the problem might be?

Edit: Weird. It's working now, but I don't know what I did differently. I just used version 0.56, chose "Open PS3", and chose the APP.DAT file. I got no errors this time and could edit it just fine.
By the way, the editor crashes when opening a PS3 file if the folder "modified ffxiii3 save data" doesn't exist in the program's folder.

They work just like I posted above; so, using Attack as an example, a strength value of 00 00 00 01 would give you a strength modifier of 1.01, a strength value of FF FF FF FF would give you a strength modifier of 0.99. Hopefully, this will make it easier to add ability modification to the editor :).
EDIT: I've added the rest of the abilities. Almost all of them increase or decrease in strength in steps of 0.01 (so 00 00 00 01 is a strength increment of 0.01, for example), except for certain, multi-hit abilities, which have different increments (taking Elementa as an example, a value of 00 00 00 01 increases strength by 0.1 from the base value). I've made a note in the list for every such exception that I noticed.
Guard abilities use increments of 1% (resistance), ailment abilities increase in steps of 1 (duration).

Thanks for the constant work and updates. I noticed the Dark Samurai outfit or Samurai Knight whatever it's called is spelt wrong. Just wanted to let ya know if you like those types of things spelt properly. No everyone i'm not a grammar hound lol. Just wanted to point something out. Thanks again.

use ffxiii multi encryptor copy the file attached to my reply into your lightning returns ps3 save foldeer on your usb drive. click on the .exe file for ffxiii mullti encryptor. click on the directory tab then direct the program to your lightning returns save directory on your usb drive. once that is done click on the word decrypt. if you have it or use it open up brute force save data version 4.7 last version of bsd there was before ps3cheating.net went down. at any rate one that is done click on any cheats and add any other heats you may want to use. click on the open program ffxiii multi encryptor click on the word encrypt then go into your lightning returns save directory on your usb device and delete the `files_decrypted by file. copy over to your ps3 and you are good to go avoids corrupted data issue after copying and pasting app.dat file

no you are doing it wrong, step 1-5 is ok but step 6 should be moving the newly modified app,data from "modified ffxiii3 save data" to the usb, THEN encrypt it. sorry about any confusions, Jappi's tool and the editor is all that is needed if done in right order.

i tried the 99 gp/ep using both codes in bsd and it worked for me. The game did not reset it back and as i returned to ark i got new 99 gp/ep but you can only see them in menu (ep-abilities). i think i can use your editor to remove the 99 gp/ep if i don't want it furthermore. That's nice (and of course all the other features) because it was not possible in bsd.

Yesterday, I played for about three hours and was really satisfied with all the upgrade I can get. Back to the question I had, I saw some of the garb as "Unknowned". I supposed these are DLC-garbs. Is there really no way to make them work without having download the DLC itself?
On a sidenote, talking about DLC-garb, I saw mine appeared in the editor as: Unknown garb (cos_XXXX). They didn't seem to have a proper name.

I have an solution for you .. there is another mod tool for Lightning returns .. I hope that I so do not violate any rule .. if I'll like you do here and now with the link to send and explain best should .. if it bothers someone .. tell me .. and i will delete it easily again ..
Here is a mod tool (only XBox):
How do you best before .. first you are modifying your game with the editor of Echelo .. only then you use the other .. by XPGOByto .. because the analyzes, for example, your HP not right on .. but you can create your GP / EP with it .. set to 499,999 ((type in the GP 4999999 you want to have - when u press max all, GP get 9..but when u type in..you can overdrive)) and have thus infinitely Chronostasis and what else can you do with it so ..

Ps.: Now you can edit your in Game Time like ever you want..with Echelos last Update.. thus chronostasis is out of the race :-)

Or you could just mod yourself a lot of turbo ethers or elixirs and replenish your EP. That's what I've been doing. Constant chronostasis rocks.

EP does stick apparently, but you have to 'heal' yourself constantly with Elixirs or Turbo Ethers to fill it up. If you warp to the Ark though, it'll fully refill EP to whatever amount you want. (Currently the Save Editor can only enter 9 max though).

Yeah, theres 2 addresses to write, 1 for current ep and 1 for current ep max, it will be added in the next build.

How does time editor works exactly? I didn't get it. Can i modify only the hour? Or the day too? Can i unlock day 13 with this?
(this question has been asked before .. and also at this time .. remained completely unanswered ..)
Some questions here is gone seemingly aware of the way .. possible .. that, while the possibility of incorporating .. .. but not sure .. how it works .. in HxD editor is the time .. which was already played .. to see .. so I guess times .. just that this time is meant .. I myself have not tried so far .. I do not know even what ..
I am therefore curious .. how would be used .. because this has on the page 1.. unwritten ..

Scale ATB: I think this determines how fast the atb gauge will refill. I set mine to 100 and i can use powerful spells without losing a lot of atb.
Scale damage: I think this determines how much damage to can do to an enemy. I haven't messed with this yet.
Scale magic defense: The same as damage. Haven't use this yet either.
Attack Dodge, Attack Guard and Magic Guard: I think these allow you to Auto doge and guard. Not sure as I haven't use these either.

atb regen: set to 100 for fast atb regen
scale damage: set anywhere from 100 to 100000000 for massive damage
scale magic defense: set to 1 for magic attack to lightning only do low dmg

magic guard: lightning will always guard magic attacks
I'm surprised you guys just didn't try editing the values to see what they do.

I can't test it out since I don't have access to my PS3 for a few weeks. So, assume my save data is at time 2 AM (day ends at 6 AM), and I put in this editor 1 hour forward and save. Does the editor add an hour to the save and, so when I load it, it's now at 3AM?

Great editor. Got an issue though. Whenever I try to edit items to any number above 99(normal maximum in game) it freezes when I load the save. Also when I try to add the Double deity weapon it does not appear in my inventory.
Other than that It's perfect. Any chance you could add an editor for FF13 and 13-2 with inventory and gill modifiers to this editor? Lol it would go to great to EPIC if you could. But you know your project your choice an all. I just thought it would be cool. :)

The Max u can reach "99"..with the Editor und can mod it to 65335..but..when u get in Game on of the Item..you fall down to 99..

The Game will freeze..when you do some Wrong "Key Items" before you need them in Game..not the Value..also it freeze..when u want to ad "Accessories" without remove Adornments just before you save in Game..I know this :-)

Adding ATB cost would be ridiculously difficult to do.
Auto-Abilities will be possible, but it still requires a lot of digging on what does what exactly, and the hex offsets for each of them. (Since they go inside active ability offsets).

I noticed the check box for PS3 is gone, is there a new way to load these type of saves? Any help is appreciated.

I tested now..and "File - Open PS3 Data" (APP.DAT) works..you just must copy your File from XBox to USB..and aftert that to your PC..open the Editor..and open it..never try to decrypt it with an other File..when u decrypt it before you open it in the Editor..it wont work.

Set ATB Regen rate to 100 and all abilities use no atb basically.

If you didn't keep a backup of your original save then yes.
You should still be able to add them back with the editor though.

wasn't able to add it back actually, maybe the save registers the garb to still be there, that's why I can't repurchase it. all other dlc garbs are around though, except for sphere hunter. looked it up in the editor and I didn't find it there either.

1st of all Rules - before mod/edit/hack Savedata -> BACKUP.
..when you are not save..what happend to what it be what you do..try little things like "ADD ONE WEAPON" (wich you need)..& not "ADD ALL/ALL MAX"...

Well, if you are able to add (white) abilities you can easily make a perfect level "star" one with minimun ATB cost and the desired auto-abilitiy, unless you want a caos auto-ability of course...

we pretty much have the same problem, maybe he'll add them later. A better solution would be to make a new game save fresh out, only adding the garbs and equipment you used the most, I'm actually about to do that too.

I'm trying this editor out for my PAL PS3 save and something is messing up when I use the Equipment editor. Adding gil and object editor for items worked okay. Basically, I am adding three weapons to the game (Shard Blade, Kikuichimonji and Sickle of the Faith).
When I load up the save, Lightning is invisible (I have this weird first person view, and I can't move either) and all the weapons and garbs are in incorrect locations, like shield being in place of where a weapon should be, etc. I then adjust them so they are in the right locations, but then when I want to get out of the menu screen, it just says "loading" and never really gets out of the menu. Any idea on what the problem could be? I don't have any adornments or accessories equipped. I am in the ARK at the end of Day 2 btw.
I can upload the save file if it'll help?
EDIT - Man, having 99 Turbo Ethers and constant Chronostasis ends all the frustration. Thanks Echelo :D

:080: personally, I would delete that save, restart from the beginning, save one to hard drive, and one to USB, use the USB one to mod, using echelo's editor, and try again
And I would just use one garb, and a nice weapon, a few elixirs , and your good to go.
I've finished the game on easy, normal, and hard, very good endings

Did you try removing all adormnents first before modding your equipment? Your're supposed to do that first.

It´s not usable to remove Adornments..while Modding your Weapon or Shield..it´s only to do..when you want to add all accessories..
therefore, it is impossible to form an opinion about his debacle ..
especially since the problem had so far, no other ..
most Ones had the problem only when the APP.DAT previously worked with Encryption Tool ..
it may therefore be that the problem occurs during copying ..what will be, however, did not fix from here ..
maybe .. try this way .. take a Look at your File by yourself and try to repair that File:

I'm also using a PAL PS3 and I had the same problem as you at some point. I had shield in place of weapon and shield in place pf garb. That was pretty messed up but I did get through the loading screen. The key was to used a previously unmodified save and try again. I realized that I did too many modifications at once and I destroyed my save obviously. I suggest before doing any editing, you should have a back up save and start from scratch if you encounter any problem. That is the safest way to proceed IMO.

he wrote that he did not modify to many things at once .. so it´s not the same .. I mod one Save many Times .. and it works always (without that case as I tried to mod my Accessories without remove my Adornments in Game) ..

You probably set the damage things too high. I think the Damage scalers also affects enemies, so setting these values too high would result in OHKOs.

you can set "Attack Guard + Magic Guard" ON..maybe "Attack Dodge" too..
Yep, I set my Magic Guard et-al all to 'on' and I haven't been hit yet.

It's so easy though with the editor, just save by a shop and add the items you can do all the spells/abilities in a few minutes.

the best advice I can give for not corrupting, or losing, your save is to only add things that aren't unique. Don't add accessories, adornments, garb, or key items. If you just "add all" on components, other items, weapons, and shields you should be clean. Then you can, 1 at a time, add specific garbs and accessories remembering that they are supposed to be unique. Then add 10 items (elixir, nektar omega, etc) and set gil to 999,999,999, ATB to 20 and EP to 9 and you have a perfectly modded save! once the ability editor is working, this will be amazing without ruining the play - FWIW I hate grinding for rare enhancements - just make me fight something hard instead

my damage scale is set to one, and i have all the gaurds and evades on, i dont get hit alot but aroe or magic that attacks groups seems to have a 70% chance to hit,its not a big deal i was just curious, im still able to play but the last boss is a hassle like this

I'll see if Echelo has any idea on what the problem could be. For now, I'm just continuing on without those weapons. It's not a big deal really, and I'll eventually get them by playing.
I'll try this editor again if and when ability editing is possible.

I got same problem before. Then I removed all equipment, save the game, and edit the weapon. It's works now.

You cant remove your full Equipments :) ..you can remove your adornments..but when you remove your weapons, shields and so on..the game will not allow to run "naked"..

Yes. I means only used minimum equipment. Removed acessories, adornment and all non-active schemata.

Hi All,
I followed the instructions into all 90 pages, but I have the same error when I load the modified save game.
My steps are:
1) I use PS3 and the last version of tool (0.57).
2) I open the tool and click on "File-->Open PS3 Data".
3) Select the folder with save game (I copied this folder on desktop).
4) The only modification is the GIL (I set 9.000.000).
5) I click "Save PS3 Data".
6) I copy/move the "APP.dat" file from "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder to the original folder on desktop and overwrite it.
7) I copy/move the folder with modified sava game to USB in "PS3-->SAVEDATA-->BLJM60558-01".
8) With XMB I copy the save game from USB to PS3.
9) Start the game and load the modifed save game.
10) I get error "corrupted data error 80029207".

Hi guys! I used the save editor but when I load the save the screen just freeze and the ps3 just turn off. I dind't make a backup of the save :( I upload the save for U guys see and help me to resolve this. Can someone please help me?

Hi All,
I followed the instructions into all 90 pages, but I have the same error when I load the modified save game.
My steps are:
1) I use PS3 and the last version of tool (0.57).
2) I open the tool and click on "File-->Open PS3 Data".
3) Select the folder with save game (I copied this folder on desktop).
4) The only modification is the GIL (I set 9.000.000).
5) I click "Save PS3 Data".
6) I copy/move the "APP.dat" file from "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder to the original folder on desktop and overwrite it.
7) I copy/move the folder with modified sava game to USB in "PS3-->SAVEDATA-->BLJM60558-01".
8) With XMB I copy the save game from USB to PS3.
9) Start the game and load the modifed save game.
10) I get error "corrupted data error 80029207".

Boy..you have PS3..not XBox..so the Savefile you need..is in the ORIGINAL FOLDER..when you take a Look..after you PRESS SAFE (Changes by Editor)..is at the bottom, written at the end of the editor: "Saved save Data, the edited save is in the Folder you opened it from"

I have the same error, I followed these instructions and now works fine:
*** Make a BACKUP of original save game because the tool doesn't do this and overwrite it ***
1) Copy the save game from PS3 to USB. It should be "PS3-->SAVEDATA-->BLJM60558-01".
2) Copy the "BLJM60558-01" folder on desktop.
3) Open the tool v0.57 and click on "File-->Open PS3 Data".
4) Open the folder with save game (step 2) and select the "APP.dat" file.
5) Make modification (e.g. set GIL to 90.000.000).
6) Click "Save PS3 Data".
7) Copy/move the folder BLJM60558-01 with modified save game from desktop to USB "PS3-->SAVEDATA-->BLJM60558-01".
9) With PS3's XMB copy the save game from USB to PS3.
10) Start the game and load the modifed save game.
NOTE: don't copy/move the "APP.dat" file from "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder to the original folder on desktop because it is necessary only for XBOX save game.

Do I need to un-equip everything she has equipped on her to be able to add Accessories?
I've had no problems when adding Gil or editing her Stats, but when I try to add an Accessory her body gets all weird and contorted and it also drops her HP to 500. o_O

Yes which was explained in the first post
"--Equipment and Object Editors added (works best if you remove all and add all)" <--tells you exactly what underneath it is talking about
"(WARNING: Remove all adornments from all your schemata while in game before saving and loading into the tool)" <--tells you to remove adornments from your character, which is a... you guessed it, an accessory.
"(You'll have to re-equip things if you're picky) (If lightning's body is all spinning and contorting, just re-equip everything in the game menu)" <-- tells you EXACTLY what do due when the body contorts, I mean it even used the same word you did.
3 out of 8 lines within the first 1/4th of the original post. If people just read they original post for once, they wouldn't ask questions that are so very clearly answered in the first post.

Wow, okay. I read the post, thanks! But where it said to "Remove All and Add All" I thought it was referring to at the bottom of the pop up window there are buttons. I was asking if I need to actually go into the game and remove everything she has equipped. I also don't want to remove all of her items. I just want to give her ONE item. Should I perform the removal of adornments to effectively use 0.57? All I'm attempting to modify is my GIL (1,234,567) and add "Nektar of the Gods Ω or an Elixir". I'm using the proper math and not adding more than 9 Recovery items in total, so what exactly is causing the corruption?
Anyone have any ideas?

It appears after some trial and error, I've finally found a way to avoid data corruption. In the event that you have DLC items equipped, remove them. I was able to successfully alter my save (GIL ONLY) when I kept my adornments on and removed all DLC content; However, if you remove all adornments, even if you're just modifying GIL, it appears to advert the data corruption entirely.
Suggestion(s) for the Developer(s):
May I suggest that as opposed to listing the requirement for all adornments needing removal on the first page, instead, when the Save Data is loaded into your application, if the tool detects adornments equipped within the Save Data, DO NOT LET THE USER PERFORM ANY MODIFICATIONS WITHIN THE TOOL (0.57). Alert the user with a modal pop-up saying something along the lines of "You haven't removed all adornments from your schema's. Please remove ALL adornments prior to loading your Save Data to avoid inevitable data corruption".
I'd also suggest that a backup of the APP.DAT file be produced by the tool since their is currently no solid protection from corrupting data. I personally back my Save Data up (as you see in the video), however, the user will not physically know the data is corrupted until it (possibly) is too late.
Lastly, what is the point of the "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder if you're no longer required to copy+replace the APP.DAT from this folder? I noticed that your message at the bottom of the application has changed (when saving a file) and you're no longer required to copy the APP.DAT from the "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder into your destination location. I know the decryption and encryption occurs within this folder, however, the directory should delete itself (similar to how the decryption executable deletes itself) after the user save's their modified Save Data.
I apologize if I'm nit picking, but my profession is a UI/UX Usability Designer and the application is a bit confusing in regards to operation at time(s). None-the-less, thanks Echelo!

In your Video we see whats going WRONG. After Modding you copy the WRONG APP.DAT to your USB. You dont have to copy the APP.DAT out of the "modified ffxiii3 save data". Youre using PS3, so you dont have to Copy the APP.DAT out of this Folder.

Thanks for the reply, however, I do NOT recommend anyone modify their Save Data directly from the USB in the event a corruption occurs. I recall in 0.24 having to copy the APP.DAT out of this "modified ffxiii3 save data" directory in order to successfully obtain the modified Save Data (PS3). This must have changed at some point and unfortunately, the notification message is extremely small and buried at the bottom of the application; opposed to a modal pop-up similar to the "Error: Unknown File" message.

I'll be the dick and agian point this out "Remove all adornments from all your schemata in game". <-- last two words tell you it's in game. Before that it says from the schemata which is what she has equipped.
But anyways, to give any items you need to remove what she has then add, you should be able to just add a single one. I know it will let you into the editor even with everything equpied cause I fucked it up hoping it would be okay if I was just modding the recovery items (My hopes were dashed), so yes, no matter the item you wish to add, remove everything.
I have to create a new save game (luckily I wasn't too far into the bloody thing), because I kept everything equiped, modded my save (which worked) but went in modding the 'time' of the day, and it froze my game up something fierce so yeah. Which is sad since I literally only added recovery items :-/ Oh well, you live and learn I guess.

It appears after some trial and error, I've finally found a way to avoid data corruption. In the event that you have DLC items equipped, remove them. I was able to successfully alter my save (GIL ONLY) when I kept my adornments on and removed all DLC content; However, if you remove all adornments, even if you're just modifying GIL, it appears to advert the data corruption entirely.
Suggestion(s) for the Developer(s):
May I suggest that as opposed to listing the requirement for all adornments needing removal on the first page, instead, when the Save Data is loaded into your application, if the tool detects adornments equipped within the Save Data, DO NOT LET THE USER PERFORM ANY MODIFICATIONS WITHIN THE TOOL (0.57). Alert the user with a modal pop-up saying something along the lines of "You haven't removed all adornments from your schema's. Please remove ALL adornments prior to loading your Save Data to avoid inevitable data corruption".
I'd also suggest that a backup of the APP.DAT file be produced by the tool since their is currently no solid protection from corrupting data. I personally back my Save Data up (as you see in the video), however, the user will not physically know the data is corrupted until it (possibly) is too late.
Lastly, what is the point of the "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder if you're no longer required to copy+replace the APP.DAT from this folder? I noticed that your message at the bottom of the application has changed (when saving a file) and you're no longer required to copy the APP.DAT from the "modified ffxiii3 save data" folder into your destination location. I know the decryption and encryption occurs within this folder, however, the directory should delete itself (similar to how the decryption executable deletes itself) after the user save's their modified Save Data.
I apologize if I'm nit picking, but my profession is a UI/UX Usability Designer and the application is a bit confusing in regards to operation at time(s). None-the-less, thanks Echelo!

Never screwed up my *actual* Save Data as I outlined in my video and my replies/recommendations. Unfortunately, this tool lacks luster in a variety of areas regarding UI/UX; I take it you do not digest constructive criticism well in your professional career, do you?
You did a great job, but unfortunately, when features change from version to version, and you publicly release your product to consumers, additional effort is needed in educating your consumer(s) than a simple line or two in the first page of a forum thread; You need to educate them within your products environment. Doing this truly defines an Agile Developer (current and more sought after) as opposed Waterfall Developer (archaic approach with limited innovation).
Thanks for concluding that this project/product will no longer receive additional versioning.

too bad, i was hoping for a feature to add abilities But whatever, it is still a great editor and helped me a lot, thanks man!
p.s. what you mean by "last public tool"? Are you going to work for other websites or what? I hope you will keep us informed about your new tools, in theese years you made some really awesome editors!

Echelo , mate never mind about those guys , ur doing great work , iam able to do anything with one , it works perfectly , just one question , i get a lot of unknown garbs , weapons and shields why , dlc or what ?

Thanks for the editor Echelo. It works wonderfully, and you almost managed to add the ability editor too. Regardless, it's a great piece of software, so thanks.
Guess we'll be using hex editors for ability mods, if people have figured out how to do that.

The user above has an error when open the equipment editor, but I think is his problem because for me works.
I added weapons and gardbs without any problems.

I used the save editor but when I load the save the screen just freeze and the ps3 just turn off. I dind't make a backup of the save :( I upload the save for U guys see and help me to resolve this. Can someone please help me?
