Irked by EA's decision to release EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil for Xbox 360 and PS3 only? Don't worry, says EA - as a (proud?) FIFA 14 Xbox One owner, you'll have access to "a range of engaging content, promotions and tournament within FIFA Ultimate Team" which allows players to "experience the World Cup in unique and fun ways".

In brief, the new game won't appear on next gen platforms because this is too much work for too little gain. "When we made the decision we considered a number of factors but most importantly we wanted to create a great game within our development resources that could reach as many people as possible and the way to do that was make our best game yet on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3," reads an EA Sports statement mailed to Videogamer.

"We gave our team the mandate of setting a laser focus on building the highest quality game for X360 and PS3 they could, and that's exactly what they are doing."13660
he standalone World Cup title will launch in April, and you can read all about it here. A few key statistics: 203 nations! 7469 players! 19 officially licensed managers! 21 stadiums! Still only one ball in play per match!

"Why isn't our World Cup game on X1/PS4?" summarised the EA Sports Twitter account. "We are making the best game we can for our largest audience, which is still on 360 & PS3."

People need to buy more Xbox Ones, in other words. What are you waiting for? A price cut?
