Alice: Madness Returns (easy to hack)

For those who've nabbed this game. Turns out it's not like any other overly protected EA game. It's actually extremely easy to edit.

All you've gotta do, is open your savegame. Hunt down your current teeth. And the first value that comes up (surrounded by tons of zeros) is the number you hack. Changed it to FF FF and had a nice mountain of teeth to use on upgrades.

For those who can make editors, and want to look more into the save. My current teeth in this one were 606

I want to play this game so bad on my JTAG but every stupid device explorer i use it fails on my for some reason i just used party buffalo explorer to inject duke nukem but it seems alice madness returns dont want to work anyway thanks for the info

Yea this game was a pain for me to put on my jtag too i just had to FTP over to my HDD it took like 4 hours to do it tho

Can you tell me the offset? I have a low number of teeth, so my hex equivalent is showing up in many places.

When I found my value and edited it and put the save file back on my HD, I noticed it had erased my save data, made me start all over, lucly I had a back up file. So what happened, anyone know?

The save editor wouldnt work for me, so what tools do I need to mod my own save? (I'll see if this way works) And how do I go about it?? Thanks in advance guys, any help with this will be very much apprecdiated.

Ive got HxD and can open my save but what am I looking fro when it comes to the number of teeth?? Is there a way of modding the health?? Cheers guys

1) Extract Alice2Checkpoint.sav with Le Fluffie (http://skunkiebutt.com/?page_id=362) and leave your save open in Le Fluffie
2) Open extracted Alice2Checkpoint.sav Renegades app or HxD/Hex Workshop
3a) Edit amount in Renegades app and save (don't hash/sign since you're not editing from STFS)
3b) In HxD/Hex Workshop, open the find dialog, set Int32 as the data type and big endian as the byte order. Search for your current value, edit, and save
4) Replace Alice2Checkpoint.sav in Le Fluffie with your edited one
5) Go to the security tab, click fix button, close Le Fluffie, and transfer save back to device

This is what it came back with "00 00 01 14". At eh moment Ive got 276 teetth (had to start the game again), what do I need to alter this number/code to to max out my teeth??>Thanks mate

Hello, I am new to Hex so I don't know what I am even looking for. I did search, then typed 606 but there were no results. Was I to do something different to find the string containing 606 (teeth) in you save? Also, where would I place the FF? Thanks in advance!

Well did u extract the save from its container and open up the calulater go to view and click programmer make Shure u have dec selected and type how man teeth u have the click hex then in hxd search the value it gave u and it will bring u to the value and replace it with FF if u have any problems fell free to pm me and I will help u some more :)

Hey boss y don't u use USB or FTP to transfer the game over jtag content manger is good for things like that

Yeah i managed to do it a few days after with FTP also i merged your posts try to use the edit button as double or more posts in a row is against the rules
