Looking for some good electronic music

Anyone know of any good electronic/techno music that encapsulates the old 8 bit era. Looking for music with a good lively beat that I can listen to while reading, because the music I typically listen to has lyrics and they can be distracting. Haven't really heard much of the genre but I have heard a few songs (but I don't know the band names) that I thought were really good and am looking for more. Thank you all.

Wow!!! You have just turned me on to a whole new genre!!! I'm downloading some Keygen music torrents now and it's crazy that they are named after the keygen they represent. Extremely interesting!

Thanks, of course, but unfortunately I'm stuck with a terribly slow ISP and I can't stream anything, lest I hear 2 seconds of song, silence, 2 seconds of song, silence, reapeat. That's why I gotta get stuff I can download.
